00:00 I'm a very happy manager in this moment and I know we were lucky as well.
00:12 So, if you only win your really good games, you have no chance to be really successful,
00:18 that's how it is, and obviously today was not a really good game.
00:21 For 76 minutes it was a really bad performance, we didn't have rhythm changes,
00:25 we didn't have any kind of accelerations, we had no timing.
00:31 I don't know how often we were offside, it was horrendous.
00:35 So that's always a bit of a sign that we are a bit too passive and stuff like this,
00:40 when one passes the ball and the other one is already there, it makes no sense.
00:43 I think in the beginning, Chris Petters was not extremely high on confidence,
00:50 it looked a little bit like that, it didn't really go for us, but we made it.
00:54 They were good, but we made it as well. It happened for them with bad passes
00:57 and losing the ball in the wrong moment.
00:58 They could have had a penalty in the first half,
01:03 I didn't see the situation back then, I don't know exactly what it was there.
01:07 Oh yeah, it was a foul on Martial, I think that was a foul,
01:12 I thought at least in the first moment it was a foul.
01:14 Then we conceded, then they got the penalty,
01:19 and it looked like a little bit we needed that today.
01:23 Of course on top of that they got a red card,
01:25 and we scored directly after that, that's all helpful, that's why I said we were lucky as well.
01:30 But what we did from 76 until 105, that was really good.
01:41 Because we all know you can have against 10 men much more problems
01:44 than we had then today, we really turned the game around, the subs were super influential.
01:53 And super impactful, that's actually the story so far of this season,
01:57 that what we bring from the bench has a real impact, and that's why we could do it.
02:04 But again, if Harvey mishits that ball it's a draw, if Mo is not there where he is
02:09 and the ball doesn't get deflected then we lose the game.
02:11 I know that these things happen like that, but with the last 15-20 minutes we deserved it,
02:17 before that we deserved nothing.
02:19 That's the 16th time since you've been manager of Liverpool that you scored an injury time winner,
02:25 that's not luck, that's a mentality thing, isn't it?
02:28 Yeah, but it gets more and more easier because we play 115 minutes,
02:31 so we have just much more time.
02:34 Yeah, I didn't know that, and I don't even know if it's a great number or not,
02:39 to be honest, maybe others have 36 times, I don't know.
02:43 OK, good, then I take that, of course.
02:48 But...
02:49 That's actually what we have to do, I love this team and I'm super positive about it,
02:56 and all the developers know we have to do things better and stuff like this.
03:00 But is it now fair to say that our mentality after 76 minutes is greater than before?
03:06 Where were we?
03:07 So I know that it's tough and it's hard, and these boys play an awful lot of football
03:12 and stuff like this, and sometimes the inner enemy is a bit louder than at other moments,
03:18 and today I saw a lot of boys struggling with that.
03:21 And as I said, you can change from outside, from the bench, you can change it,
03:29 but we should not come in that situation much more often.
03:32 Hi, Jürgen.
03:34 More than 200, 115 a week, what's your view on that?
03:41 Pretty impressive, yeah. We carried that shirt already for two weeks with us,
03:45 or Toni had it, and now finally we could give it to him.
03:50 It was pretty much the best moment to score it, to be 100 per cent honest.
03:54 Incredible number for a super, super special player.
04:03 I don't know how often he saved us with a goal he scored in the right moment.
04:10 It was a pretty loud reception in the dressing room when I gave him the shirt
04:14 with the 200 on the back.
04:15 Players were asking for a speech but you have to ask him if he had one because I had to go
04:20 for media work then, so I don't know if he had one.
04:22 Yeah, but really, really special.
04:27 Really happy for him.
04:28 Now that's off the shoulder because when you have 199 it's probably different to 198,
04:34 so now we can go for the next 100.
04:39 Jürgen, you mentioned Everton being the story of the season so far,
04:42 you're supposed to be a different team than the first team that won the title in the Champions
04:46 League. Maybe it was a sense that it was more of a fixed eleven or a best eleven.
04:50 Is this the case now?
04:52 We had a very similar situation.
04:56 I don't know exactly which season, but let me say we started with Fabinho, Henderson,
05:06 Wijnaldum, then we had Milner, then we had Lallana the year before, then we had Oxlade-Chamberlain,
05:10 then we had Naby Keita, we had upfront Shaqiri, Origi, Minamino, so that's what you need
05:19 to make a difference.
05:21 And now we have quality again, so that's how it is.
05:24 We would have had today, if he wouldn't have been injured,
05:28 Diogo Txota, which would have been super helpful.
05:31 So that's how it is.
05:34 The boys have quality and that's why they show it. It's more the mindset.
05:38 The bad thing about the amount of games we play is that it's really tiring, it's just like that.
05:44 The good thing is they all can play and they have to play.
05:47 And so we can make these kind of moves like today because one is the
05:52 player change, but we changed the system and I don't want to give Gundun any praise for that,
06:00 it's just a job to do, but that helped as well.
06:03 We could really do that and in the end we played up front with Mo and Harvey on 10,
06:10 Kodiak, Boner, right, Luto, left, and then Luto inside and Kostya, so we tried everything.
06:15 In the end it worked out, but very often nothing works out anymore because you don't get it.
06:19 It's all up to the players, they really then take these little helping hands we can give.
06:26 So we just played better.
06:29 All of a sudden we can say against 10 men, we played quite frequently with 10 men this year
06:33 and it was difficult, really difficult to create against us.
06:39 So I know how difficult it is, people will say that made the difference,
06:44 but they did probably really well, we just played then really good and that's what it is.
06:50 Do you have an ideal system now or is it actually difficult to look at?
06:56 That would make absolutely no sense if I think about that because we just have to work with
07:02 the players we have available, that means physically available.
07:05 Who is here, who is there, what can we really do?
07:08 We can play with these boys, different systems, there's no shadow of a doubt,
07:10 but in this moment if we bring all our four real offensive players,
07:15 our strikers, it's possible that they play together if nobody shows up.
07:19 That's a bit of a problem, or very young, sorry, or very young players to bring on.
07:23 That's why we have to think about a lot of things before the game, but we came through this week,
07:28 Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday, 12.30, it was really tough and really tricky.
07:33 And all good.
07:35 Thank you everyone.
07:37 Thank you.
07:39 Thank you.
