00:02 Rwanda, a country devastated by genocide in 1994.
00:08 Now Rwanda is striving.
00:13 It's a vastly different country.
00:15 I'm in Rwanda to discover a new country and a new culture.
00:19 Ultra endurance rider Josh Ibbott
00:26 has planned a four-day ride
00:28 across what many call the land of a thousand hills.
00:31 Bikes are part of life in Rwanda.
00:35 When you're riding along, everyone waves,
00:37 everyone says hello,
00:38 all the kids wanna run alongside you and chase you,
00:40 and all the guys on bikes
00:41 always wanna try and race you as well.
00:43 He's looking at your bike like, "That looks good."
00:45 Josh is a Rwandan adventure
00:47 riding through some spectacular scenery,
00:49 exploring the roads.
00:52 Nice, it's like one of the best roads I've ever ridden on.
00:55 Mountains.
00:56 Quite high now, less miles per gallon on the old oxygen.
01:00 And culture.
01:01 There were just people everywhere.
01:02 There's traffic, there's noise, it's bustling.
01:05 The people of Rwanda are absolutely brilliant.
01:08 And also meet the Rwandan riders of tomorrow.
01:11 The national team, they know what they're doing.
01:14 I think we'll hear a lot about Rwandan cyclists
01:15 in the future.
01:16 Then the grueling 1,000 kilometer tour of Rwanda,
01:23 ultra endurance race.
01:25 The roads were slippery,
01:26 there was oil and grease on all the corners.
01:28 It's pretty sketchy actually.
01:30 Plummeting down this misty descent in the dark.
01:33 Literally got no brake pads whatsoever.
01:35 It's carnage.
