00:29 609 in the morning, a man wearing a black jacket can be seen entering the
00:33 Dimaporo gym. Six minutes after he went outside around 7 o'clock in the morning
00:38 another man wearing a white polo shirt can be seen carrying a bag and seems to
00:42 know the guy in the black jacket previously seen in the CCTV who entered
00:46 again the gym. The man wearing white went outside and without a bag to carry
00:51 anymore. In addition he was also pressed a button or buttons on a cell phone. The
00:56 explosion happened at 712 a.m. The man seen in the CCTV pressing something on
01:01 his cell phone is believed to be the trigger of the 60 millimeter mortar
01:05 ordnance based on the fragments recovered from the crime scene. A suspect
01:09 identified with the aliases of Jaff or Kurot was apprehended and captured
01:14 during a joint military and police operation at Barangay Dulay proper
01:18 Marawi City. The AFP said that Jaff or Kurot is the one seen in the CCTV
01:23 carrying a bag and is one of the accomplices in the bombing. In a
01:27 statement the AFP said the arrest of the suspect shows the seriousness of the
01:31 government in going after the perpetrators to keep such incident from
01:35 happening again. The AFP also assured its commitment in protecting the people and
01:40 state. Meanwhile Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. affirmed the
01:44 intensified measures being done to arrest the suspects behind the blast.
01:48 "Not only persons of interest and those who are on the periphery who are
01:53 involved in this. In the meantime, the operations are being
01:58 intensified in the area. There is a heightened alert in Mindanao. Here in NCR
02:06 we are really monitoring all urban areas. This is a joint operation of the PNP and
02:12 AFP. So our operations are continuous and law enforcement operations in all areas."
