Artist Marley Dawson confronts criticism on Albury's Big Log
Transcript
00:00 anything put into the public realm, we'll have a sort of conversation around it. I think, you know,
00:04 I know the article you were talking about. I guess the response is, my response would be,
00:12 come and have a look, read what it is before having your online chat, you know.
00:25 And you know, I think public art is always diversive. There's people that love it and
00:30 people that hate it, people that don't think it's worth it, you know, all that sort of stuff.
00:35 I think there's something to think about in that though, that should we only have nice things once
00:41 everything else is perfect? Because if we're looking to have perfect roads forever, we're
00:45 never going to have anything. We're never going to have a public artwork, we're never going to
00:48 have swimming pools, we're never going to have, you know, nice gardens. If you're trying to get
00:53 everything perfect before you can have nice things, I think it's going to be a hard road and a hard
00:59 sell.
