Steve Leake and Mick Fox have curated an exhibition about the history of Crawley Town Football Club. On the opening night of the exhibition at Crawley Museum, Steve Leake gave us a tour of the exhibits on display.

00:10 As you enter the exhibition, you've got the interested parties of the club really.
00:17 You've got teenage coaches over on this side, and you notice the signs that they use on the coaches going up to Old Trafford.
00:27 We've got a fancied coach, a notorious coach and a bulldozer coach, and there was other coaches in those days as well.
00:33 This is the DSA, Disabled Support Association, their log display.
00:38 And on this side we've got CTFC, SA, Supporters Alliance, with their posters telling you what they do.
00:45 And now that they've got representation on the board with Sam Jordan, he should be here tonight.
00:50 Yep.
00:51 The one and only Sergio Antones' shirt.
00:54 Is that a particular game or is that...?
00:57 I think that's the one. It wouldn't have been the one from Derby County because it's a league shirt.
01:02 Yeah, from that season.
01:04 From the season after, yeah.
01:06 And then you come here, this is Mick Fox's work of art over here.
01:10 This shows wherever Crawley have played in Crawley.
01:14 You see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 pitches.

01:21 You know, and what do the pink ones signify?
01:23 The pink ones signify places that we've used as HQs.
01:29 Or this little one here is an old lady's house that they used as changing.

01:35 You can walk over to the entrance.
01:37 Oh wow, incredible.
01:39 Behind the entrance is Cinnabar, which is now Turtle Bay.
01:42 Yes.
01:43 And then you've got the Touth Meadow.
01:51 So that was 51 years, no, 41 years they were there.

01:58 It looks like they're going for a one man and a dog there, doesn't it?
02:02 That's the building there and that's the Town Mead houses in the background.
02:06 Yeah. Oh wow, incredible.
02:12 Some old players there in the red and white quartered shirts that we used to wear.
02:18 And we also wore red and white stripes, which we see a lot of.
02:21 Right, yeah.
02:23 And you come on to Town Mead a bit higher up.
02:27 Yeah.
02:29 They have the worst toilets in the league, I think we had that.
02:33 And that sign there is in that cupboard over there.
02:40 Oh wow.
02:41 Because I got in there the day after they closed it and nicked it.
02:46 You took possession of it, shall we say.
02:49 This was the old stand, it was made, that was the boardroom.
02:55 Right.
02:56 And you had to climb up to that, not via the ladder, there was a staircase at the back.
03:01 Incredible, and then a Broadfield Stadium.
03:03 Just as we got the stadium looking reasonably, we moved.
03:08 Yeah.
03:09 Which is a good job they did.
03:12 And you come on to this one, Crawley FC 1890s to 1953.

03:21 Yes, we featured him in the paper, didn't we?
03:23 Did we feature him in the paper at some point?
03:26 I can't remember.
03:27 I see them again there.
03:29 This looks like it's been photoshopped, that.

04:13 I think that was the one that Andy Riley used to wear.

04:23 And then this bit here is other related teams,
04:26 because although we're Crawley Town,
04:28 we were Crawley SC before that,
04:31 and we went out of existence for three years, was it, Mick?
04:34 Yeah, but some of these were...
04:37 These are precursors, like the Crawley comrades came from the war
04:42 and then they went to the Rangers and then they packed up and became Crawley.
04:47 And they all sort of fell apart just before the Second World War
04:51 and then re-emerged as Crawley FC.
04:54 But quite often it seemed to me that they used to share players.
04:58 Right, OK.
04:59 And there was a Wednesday team that used to share players as well, so...
05:03 Yeah.
05:05 The founding fathers.
05:07 All the neat bits are Steve's.
05:10 All the ones with the handwritten captions in mind that you can't read very well.
