Do you know that regardless of how poor or young you are, you can offer a helping hand to those in need? That's the story of three young Malawian sisters in Chiradzulu, Malawi. They provide basic needs, such as sanitary towels, clothes, and soaps, to teenage girls who have dropped out of school. Most teen mothers they have mentored are ready to return to school and start a new life. #GirlZOffMute

00:07 But that is very wrong, because even young people are doing their best to improve and
00:14 impact the society. Let's meet these girls, Tembi, Rita and Memory. They run an initiative
00:21 that helps their fellow young teen girls with basic needs with the little pocket money they
00:26 have. I'm Alorisa Banda for Girls of MUTE. Who brought up this idea of bringing up this initiative?
00:32 Actually it was all of us. We saw that girls were suffering in many villages, so we're like,
00:36 ah, let's find a village where we can find girls who are suffering and we can help them
00:40 to go back to school. How do you share your roles when you're helping these girls out here?
00:45 We share our roles by Tembi, so, um, Bango's at school, Inasio, Clothes at home, and Memory, so,
00:51 Freezers at home as well. What are your goals as per to where you want to reach in the near future
00:57 with your initiative? Our goal is to reach a lot of girls in Malawi, is to help as many families
01:03 as we can, and it's to help a lot of girls and to encourage them to go back to school. Um, you guys
01:09 are students, where do you get the money from? What's your source of income to also help these
01:13 girls? Yeah, we're students, but then we get money from selling the freezers, from selling the
01:19 bangles, and at school I really make business with selling the bangles. Some school in Blantyre,
01:24 I'll go sell the polytechnic, I go different places. We don't beg, but people donate money,
01:32 and yeah, we move. So, how fulfilling is it that you know that you're helping, you're able to help
01:38 other girls your age? Um, it is satisfying knowing that we're bringing a positive impact on someone's
01:45 life, because most of the girls here, when we found them, they were not going to school,
01:50 but now most of the girls are back at school. So, it is very, very satisfying knowing that we
01:55 made that change to these girls. What would you like, or how would you like the society or people
02:03 out there to assist you guys in what you've already started to do to these girls? Um, we'd like people
02:09 to help us with donations, so that we should be able to make these girls finish by the end of
02:14 their Form 4 exams and find better jobs to help their children, because all these girls have
02:20 children, and it's very sad to see a 16-year-old carrying a child which is like two years old,
02:28 which hurts us the most, because she never went to school, and she's not at that point where she
02:34 can pay her own school fees. That's so impressive, three sisters making a difference in their own
02:39 way. This actually shows that you don't need to have millions to help others. You can help anyone
02:44 in your own unique way. But who are the beneficiaries of these beautiful girls?
