00:00 Now we will talk about Dubai.
00:01 At the global conference held at the Global Conference on Global Affairs,
00:06 the Pakistani woman received a great honor.
00:10 She is a doctor from Balochistan, Alia Haider.
00:12 She became the pride of Pakistan.
00:14 At the global event, she named herself as the front-line climate health award.
00:18 And Dr. Alia Haider got an award in Pakistan,
00:20 which was a huge success last year,
00:22 which had a huge impact on Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab.
00:27 She was awarded this award for playing a frontline role in that.
00:31 So let's talk to Dr. Alia.
00:34 Thank you so much for joining us.
00:36 We are very happy that you and your services have been recognized at the global level.
00:41 So please tell us in detail,
00:44 when the flood came and we saw that about 350 million people were homeless,
00:48 and the water body that was there for more than six months,
00:51 it remained there and more diseases spread because of it.
00:54 So where did you go and what did you see?
00:58 Thank you so much for having me and giving me this stage to share with you
01:06 and to share my story with the whole of Pakistan.
01:12 The situation of the flood,
01:15 when in 2022 I was working in the General Hospital,
01:22 and in those days I was doing a patient's work,
01:26 like cleaning and changing the stroma bag.
01:31 So at that time I realized that this work
01:35 can be done by so many doctors in the General Hospital.
01:39 And if I go to the area of Salam Zadagah and work there,
01:43 then maybe there will be some change or impact from my side.
01:48 Because at that time there was no work on health in the country.
01:51 Everyone was giving relief to Salam Zadagah,
01:56 but no one was giving health relief.
01:59 During that time, I started health relief for flood affected people.
02:04 I came home and talked to my family and friends.
02:08 And because I was setting up medical camps in different areas of Pakistan for the past 4-5 years,
02:16 so the experience of setting up medical camps was there,
02:18 and there were some resources too.
02:19 But if you go to a larger area, then you need more resources.
02:24 So I called all my friends, friends, and all the networks,
02:28 and asked them to help me.
02:31 Because the cost of medication is very expensive.
02:34 I came home and the good thing is that my friends,
02:38 the doctors and some students from the universities,
02:42 they did volunteer work with me.
02:44 And we all went.
02:46 We went to South Punjab, Balochistan, Charsada,
02:51 and in Sindh, Kashmir, we set up medical camps.
02:56 And the situation there was so bad that you can't even imagine.
03:03 It was such a devastating situation.
03:04 Some people were changing their homes,
03:07 and all the things they had built in their lives were finished.
03:11 So Dr. Ania, how did you make it possible?
