Our reporter Michael Plant gives his assessment after Manchester United's 2-1 win over Chelsea.
Transcript
00:00 I'm at Old Trafford where tonight Manchester United earned a well deserved 2-1 victory against Chelsea.
00:06 These home fans haven't had a lot to cheer about this season but that really was a superb performance from Eric Tent on the Hacks side.
00:12 It was the first half where United dominated and actually had an xG of 2.78 overall on the night when they had 28 shots.
00:19 But in that first half United for all their dominance went in at half time 1-1.
00:23 Scott McTominay did score early on for United but there were too many opportunities for Chelsea to attack through United who were sloppy at times defensively.
00:33 And they managed to equalise via Cole Palmer just before half time.
00:37 But in the second half it was completely different. United still had the same attacking dominance and were creating so many chances and opportunities.
00:44 But managed to be more assured and more resolute at the back and stopped Chelsea creating many chances.
00:50 Certainly up until around injury time in this game.
00:53 It was Scott McTominay who also got the second goal in a fantastic personal performance from him.
00:58 His late runs into the box were just so difficult for Chelsea to deal with.
01:02 Great cross from Alejandro Garnaccio into the back post.
01:05 McTominay managed to nod it in which resulted in absolute jubilant scenes here at Old Trafford.
01:11 And as I say it was a performance that Eric Tent and I will be delighted about.
01:14 It was energetic. There was a lot of questions asked ahead of this game.
01:17 Are this team fighting for him? Do they still believe in him? Are they still working for him?
01:21 And I think there was a lot of questions answered tonight by a side that worked so industriously off the ball.
01:28 That put in such effort and defended from the front with Anthony and Hoyland defending really well.
01:35 Garnaccio a real threat out left and Bruno Fernandes who actually missed a penalty after 9 minutes.
01:40 He responded excellently and his work rate off the ball passes into the final third.
01:44 He was superb and played a pivotal part in Manchester United coming away with 3 points.
01:48 Harry Maguire I also thought was brilliant to send it back.
01:50 He was just announced today as November's Premier League Player of the Month.
01:54 Well if he keeps playing like that who knows he might have a chance at December's.
01:58 But all round as I say superb from Manchester United and a really enjoyable performance.
02:02 It is worth noting that Mark Shraftford and Anthony Martial did come out of the team tonight.
02:06 And I do think United certainly compared to Saturday against Newcastle were much better for those changes.
02:11 I suspect Ten Hag will be asking him questions about that in his post-match press conference.
02:15 But for now anyway it is a night for Ten Hag to enjoy because it has been such a difficult start to the season.
02:21 And something for him to build on when Bournemouth come here on Saturday.
