00:00 T'was the night before Christmas and in the warehouse quite a bit was stirring, lots of

00:12 food in and out. Since we last saw the fairies so much has transpired but hunger in Coventry

00:21 had far from expired. In the spring generosity helped keep up with need, tins and jars were

00:30 a plenty to resource the big feed. But a problem was rising as they sorted the food, the issue

00:40 of hunger was expanding, not good. Hunger was growing and kept helping itself, taking

00:50 all of the items on the Cov Food Bank shelf. Into the warehouse donations kept arriving

00:57 but more out than in the cost of living was rising. The fairies panicked, what shall we

01:06 do hunger has come and is eating us through, could hunger be halted? We need a new plan

01:13 said the fairies, a good one to take hunger down. As autumn arrived hunger thought it

01:22 had won but empty shelves didn't mean that the fairies were done. The fight against shortages

01:29 had really just started, strategy and teamwork, Food Bank fairies united. Why rely on donations

01:39 when food could be bought? So sponsors and regular donors were sought. Hunger was scared,

01:47 there was more in the tank, greater resources were helping Food Bank. In winter the fairies

01:55 aimed to take hunger down, more food at the ready to topple its crown. Again hunger grew,

02:04 it's aim to derail but the fairies all rallied, their resolve didn't fail. As they stood up

02:14 to hunger things were looking intense but behind our good fairies were reinforcements.

02:23 To help in the battle our friends gave more money, direct debits every month. Hunger did

02:30 not think it funny, disgruntled, not defeated, hunger ran out of sight. I can see generosity

02:40 has helped win this fight said the fairies, we've won the battle but we've not won the

02:47 war for we know that hunger will return and fight us some more. As our year turns full

02:55 circle here on the ground we're fighting hunger all the year round. Coventry Food Bank is

03:07 helping to feed tens of thousands of people across the city each year. In 2023 we faced

03:12 a double challenge of food donations dropping and demand increasing. To tackle this and

03:16 to meet our local demand we need your help. This Christmas please become one of 500 new
