00:00:00 Ricky De La Cruz, term of endearment to him is Atty. Buko. Atty. Buko, please come here.
00:00:07 [Applause]
00:00:09 [Speaking in Tagalog]
00:00:35 Alright, so to start the proceedings, may I be allowed to read my statement, our opening statement?
00:00:45 Magandang umaga po, seniyo lahat. First and foremost, we thank the Lord our God for being with us throughout this ordeal. Indeed, the truth will always prevail.
00:01:01 Yesterday, the Intellectual Property Office, the Bureau of Legal Affairs, decided that we, Tito Vic and Joey, are the rightful owners and originators of the trademarks in Bulaga and India.
00:01:17 [Applause]
00:01:21 Thus, we, DBJ, have the exclusive and absolute right to register the said marks and all its variations. In this regard, the IPO canceled the trademark registration of TAPE Inc. over the marks in Bulaga and India.
00:01:45 TAPE Inc. failed to prove that they conceptualized in Bulaga and India. It is Joey who coined and created these marks in 1979 in my kitchen in my place.
00:02:03 In our petition, we explained the significance of the design and the origin of each word that comprises in Bulaga. TAPE Inc. did not even refute or contradict our narration of the origin of the marks.
00:02:21 In fact, they corroborated our claims when they said that Romy Jalusos only chose the name in Bulaga amongst the list given to him. Thus, the IPO finds our position to be believable, credible, and strong, controverting evidence against TAPE's registration.
00:02:47 The IPO took note and recognized Joey's creative efforts in conceptualizing the words in Bulaga. In its decision, the IPO said that "it is not the application or the registration that confers the right of registration."
00:03:09 We have sufficiently proven to the IPO that we, TBJ, are the owners of the word marks. Therefore, as earlier mentioned, it is only us and no one else who have all the right to register these subject marks.
00:03:27 TAPE Inc. should not be allowed to profit from the business reputation built by TBJ. For how many decades, TBJ garnered goodwill over the Inkulaga brand and the general public even said that TBJ is Inkulaga and Inkulaga is TBJ.
00:03:52 The IPO's favorable decision, while it is just the beginning, is indeed a milestone in the welcoming development to our legal claims. We express our heartfelt thanks to our Lord, our God, to our family, and all the solid TAPERCATS who are with us in this journey.
00:04:20 Thank you very much.
00:04:22 [Applause]
00:04:28 [Music]
00:04:39 Thank you very much, Mr. Ben. Thank you very much, TBJ. Congratulations to you again and to all the legit TAPERCATS who have been waiting for this moment. Congratulations, sir.
00:04:50 Now, the floor is open to questions from our members of the press. Let us welcome MJ Marfori from TV5. MJ, to the mic, please.
00:05:05 Good morning, legit TAPERCATS, and congratulations. My question goes out to our iconic TBJ. We would like to know when you were informed about this good news. Where were you and what was your reaction?
00:05:25 That's all I'm going to say.
00:05:28 This morning, I received a text from Atty. Delacruz, Atty. Buco, and he said that the IBO has made a favorable decision and that I should be given a copy.
00:05:43 So, first of all, I am very thankful to God because that is what we have been fighting for and praying for for a long time.
00:05:54 I was in the middle of the road.
00:05:59 Was it only yesterday?
00:06:03 Yes, yes. I didn't even update him. When he asked about this icon, he said, "I created our name."
00:06:15 Wow!
00:06:19 Just to make it famous.
00:06:23 I don't have anything to say.
00:06:26 I just saw Atty. Buco on TV and that's when I got goosebumps.
00:06:35 Wow!
00:06:36 I was in the middle of the road.
00:06:39 I was crying when I saw Atty. Buco.
00:06:41 He's good at speaking.
00:06:45 I was in the middle of taping my GMA sitcom.
00:06:49 I had a lot of things to say to congratulate him.
00:06:53 I said, "I don't know how to congratulate."
00:06:57 I was just saying congratulations.
00:07:00 Then, my brother, Marurio, sent me his statement.
00:07:06 I didn't know anything about it.
00:07:09 But it didn't sink in.
00:07:12 I didn't know much about legal terms and legalities.
00:07:21 I only knew and felt the moral rights.
00:07:29 I felt the moral rights.
00:07:32 So, throughout the day, I was confused.
00:07:39 My mother was riding a Ferris wheel.
00:07:43 She was waiting.
00:07:45 You're getting old.
00:07:47 She was waiting.
00:07:48 My mother was riding a Ferris wheel.
00:07:56 She was waiting.
00:07:57 When I was riding the Ferris wheel, Pauline said she thought my mother was getting old.
00:08:04 I was confused.
00:08:07 But as the day went on, we had a Christmas party.
00:08:12 That's when it sunk in to me that we were being led by fate.
00:08:23 It seems that fate is kind to the three of us and to all the other candidates.
00:08:33 So, I'm very thankful.
00:08:36 I'm just following up on what you said.
00:08:39 You said that you're giving importance to the creators of IPOs
00:08:44 not because they were trademarked by others.
00:08:47 It's them.
00:08:48 Who created it?
00:08:49 It's them.
00:08:51 They have the courage.
00:08:53 It's better if the authority explains it.
00:08:57 But you...
00:08:59 No, you explain it.
00:09:01 You're the idol Joey.
00:09:04 He's better at talking.
00:09:06 He's a flower.
00:09:07 He's clearer.
00:09:08 He's more hidden in our hearts.
00:09:12 But this is his idol Joey.
00:09:14 You created an IPO that gave importance to the disputed amount of P1.
00:09:22 It's you.
00:09:23 That's funny.
00:09:24 I know that Joey always says that.
00:09:30 But if it wasn't for coffee in our kitchen, I might not have thought of it.
00:09:35 I'll just add something.
00:09:37 I was with someone when I thought of it.
00:09:42 His name is Jess Espiritu.
00:09:45 After a while, I said...
00:09:48 I'm religious.
00:09:49 I said, "Jess Espiritu."
00:09:52 There's Jesus and Holy Spirit.
00:09:55 Spirit of Jesus.
00:09:57 Yes, Jess.
00:10:00 I thought, "This is nothing. He created a lot."
00:10:05 I thought, "He's not a saint."
00:10:08 Maybe in answer to MJ before I turn it over to Atty. Tarapuzo and Atty. Pupo.
00:10:18 We knew.
00:10:20 We knew that we had the right to it.
00:10:23 We knew that Joey created it.
00:10:26 We nurtured it.
00:10:28 We fostered it.
00:10:30 All throughout these years.
00:10:32 Then we found out in 2013 that someone filed a trademark.
00:10:37 It was painful because as a matter of fact, there was deception.
00:10:42 We didn't know that someone filed Section 162225.
00:10:47 I think those were the 162225.
00:10:49 It was all merchandising.
00:10:52 It means that when you sell, you sell.
00:10:55 Clothes, T-shirts, and such.
00:10:57 That's where the trademark is.
00:10:59 We felt it was unfair.
00:11:03 Anyway, to answer the legal implication of your question, MJ, turning it over.
00:11:11 Thank you, sir.
00:11:13 When we first filed this,
00:11:15 many were asking why they didn't use the title "Ipulaga" when they transferred.
00:11:24 In fact, our legal opinion on TVJ is that they can use it because they have the legal right.
00:11:32 And the registration of the other party is a merchandising, not a TV show, not entertainment.
00:11:38 So they can really use it.
00:11:40 They decided not to use it because they respected the law.
00:11:46 They respected the registration made by the state.
00:11:49 Even though in our opinion, that's wrong.
00:11:52 They didn't register it correctly.
00:11:54 They respected the process.
00:11:56 TVJ said, "Okay, we'll adjust."
00:12:00 That's why they didn't use the title.
00:12:02 Now, the decision came out.
00:12:04 It says that the creator, the one who has the right, the one who has the right, TVJ.
00:12:10 We hope that they will respect the decision.
00:12:16 While they are still appealing, don't use it as a respect.
00:12:22 Because TVJ respects the law and the process, we can only expect that they will do the same.
00:12:28 Thank you very much.
00:12:30 Is it okay, MJ?
00:12:32 It's okay.
00:12:34 Let's call Ms. Anna Cerezo of ABS-CBN.
00:12:39 Ms. Anna.
00:12:40 Hi, good morning and congratulations.
00:12:43 Good morning, MJ. I love you.
00:12:45 I love you.
00:12:47 I love you.
00:12:48 I'm from ABS-CBN, 1968.
00:12:51 Excuse me.
00:12:53 Okay.
00:12:54 You mentioned your feelings about this.
00:12:57 This "congrats" to you, this trademark, do you feel it's enough that you are vindicated?
00:13:05 Yes, although let me say it accurately.
00:13:12 Their registration for three sections of the Intellectual Property Rights were cancelled.
00:13:23 But we have registration for section 41, which is Entertainment Services.
00:13:31 And it is registered with Joey DeLeon.
00:13:34 So definitely, we feel vindicated because they thought that it's okay because the trademark was registered with them.
00:13:47 So we are very happy.
00:13:50 The conversation became clearer.
00:13:53 Sir Joey, enough.
00:13:55 You know, I'm just teasing Eving now, the translator.
00:13:58 I said, "Vindicated?"
00:14:00 No, I said, "Exacto." I said, "We are kind."
00:14:05 We are kind.
00:14:07 There, you can cry.
00:14:09 No, it's okay.
00:14:11 It's okay, don't cry.
00:14:13 If you are 50 years old, actually we are 50 years old in our long time.
00:14:17 Including the student canteen, because we came from there.
00:14:21 48 to be exact.
00:14:24 You are kind. You don't have any more grudges in your heart.
00:14:30 You just smile.
00:14:32 Like this, this is just a blessing.
00:14:34 "Oh, thank you."
00:14:36 That's just our reaction.
00:14:38 "Oh, thank you."
00:14:40 For our fans and followers, if there are still alive.
00:14:44 There are still many.
00:14:46 There are still many.
00:14:48 There are still many.
00:14:50 I told you earlier, we can expand our explanation.
00:14:57 We do this, we answer all of this, and we are here in front of you.
00:15:01 Because of the whole and majority of those who followed us through the years.
00:15:07 There, this is for you.
00:15:09 Because we are, what are we?
00:15:11 Maybe we are just 50 years old.
00:15:14 [Laughs]
00:15:16 You can do it.
00:15:18 But we are still growing.
00:15:20 [Laughs]
00:15:22 We will do it.
00:15:24 Thank you so much.
00:15:26 There, okay.
00:15:28 Thank you.
00:15:30 What?
00:15:32 Bossing wants to know, what can you say?
00:15:35 What is your question?
00:15:37 [Laughs]
00:15:39 Okay, yes, yes. Love you.
00:15:41 Sir Joey is crying.
00:15:43 Oh, yes.
00:15:45 We are all crying.
00:15:47 Especially when I see Alan Kay.
00:15:49 Hey, bossing, bossing.
00:15:51 Hey, hey, hey, don't talk.
00:15:53 I'm getting tired, Joey.
00:15:57 You know, if the music of, I don't know,
00:16:02 that while it lasts, it makes my ears better,
00:16:06 then this is my fault.
00:16:08 [Laughs]
00:16:10 [Applause]
00:16:13 What is your question?
00:16:15 [Laughs]
00:16:17 Miss, can you repeat it?
00:16:19 I don't like that.
00:16:21 What?
00:16:22 I don't like that.
00:16:23 Do you feel vindicated?
00:16:25 Yes, vindicated.
00:16:27 Vindicated, as you said,
00:16:29 that's a heavy word.
00:16:32 We are just happy.
00:16:36 The trials that we faced in the past,
00:16:43 when this chaos happened,
00:16:47 or the things that happened,
00:16:55 this started when we were stopped
00:16:59 because of their reasons,
00:17:03 we were stopped.
00:17:05 And, it's easy to say,
00:17:08 we were forced to leave
00:17:10 the program that we loved for four decades,
00:17:15 the program and the television
00:17:18 that we worked hard for,
00:17:22 we heard,
00:17:26 we were bleeding, sweating,
00:17:29 and then suddenly they would say,
00:17:32 "Shh, you're out."
00:17:35 It hurts.
00:17:40 [Laughs]
00:17:42 Don't cry.
00:17:46 Don't cry.
00:17:47 So, these developments
00:17:51 inspired us to continue.
00:18:02 As Ellen said, it's just a label.
00:18:07 Maybe another term that could be used,
00:18:11 maybe it's more appropriate for you
00:18:14 to use the term, instead of vindicated,
00:18:16 officially recognized.
00:18:19 We are now officially recognized.
00:18:21 You're like senators.
00:18:24 SP.
00:18:26 SP.
00:18:28 Yes, vindicated.
00:18:30 Thank you so much.
00:18:33 Thank you, Miss Allen.
00:18:35 Love you.
00:18:36 And now we'd like to call Natalie Tomada
00:18:39 from the Philippine Star.
00:18:40 I'm from there too.
00:18:43 I'm from there too.
00:18:45 I'm from the aquarium, bulletin,
00:18:47 Philippine Star, all of that.
00:18:50 I'm from there.
00:18:52 I just don't know how to say "tick-tick."
00:18:57 My question is for PDJ.
00:19:00 So, does this feel like an early Christmas gift?
00:19:04 And also, when will you start using it
00:19:07 in your channel?
00:19:08 Will it be a thing?
00:19:12 Definitely, it's a Christmas gift.
00:19:16 We're so happy about it being officially recognized
00:19:20 by the government.
00:19:23 Not just by the people, by law.
00:19:27 Officially recognized by the law.
00:19:30 So, it's really like an early Christmas gift.
00:19:35 Perhaps after the press conference,
00:19:38 after the day, we'll discuss the other legal matters
00:19:42 around our plan for EIT.
00:19:47 We all know, even those who interviewed us
00:19:51 in So Good Bahay, they're thankful for EIT,
00:19:55 for EIT Bulagay.
00:19:56 They really know.
00:19:58 I was joking with our court colleagues.
00:20:05 I said, "People know, DBJ is EIT Bulagay,
00:20:08 Bulagay is DBJ.
00:20:10 You're the only ones who don't know."
00:20:12 I said, "We'll talk to those two."
00:20:17 Actually, I feel sorry for my grandson, Jacob.
00:20:22 He's good.
00:20:24 If I show him the car logo, he'll tell you
00:20:28 how much it costs.
00:20:30 Five years old.
00:20:32 No, three years old.
00:20:35 Those who are asking, Jimmy One Direction,
00:20:39 Aris Miles, he studied EIT.
00:20:47 I feel sorry for him.
00:20:49 I really cried there.
00:20:51 He sang, "E-A-T."
00:20:55 Really?
00:20:57 He's still a kid.
00:21:00 But, as we said,
00:21:10 as we said, he's the first one to cry.
00:21:16 When someone shouts at So Good Bahay,
00:21:19 thank you to EIT Bulagay.
00:21:23 We laugh, we don't...
00:21:26 We don't get angry, even if they're old.
00:21:30 We don't.
00:21:34 We'll just say, "It's okay, we're just drinking."
00:21:38 It's true.
00:21:40 So, even if it's E, we're okay.
00:21:43 Even if it's A, we're okay.
00:21:45 Even if it's T, we're okay.
00:21:47 We're still okay.
00:21:48 When you see our faces,
00:21:50 that's it.
00:21:54 When will I use this?
00:21:58 You're so tardy.
00:22:00 You're so tardy.
00:22:01 There's nothing to say.
00:22:03 Actually, you can use it, right?
00:22:05 I really agree with Divina.
00:22:07 Divina, Dave, our group,
00:22:10 they can use it even before the decision came out.
00:22:14 Because their registry is not for entertainment.
00:22:18 Their registry is for merchandise,
00:22:20 as Dico said.
00:22:22 But they chose it.
00:22:24 TDJ was the one who decided.
00:22:26 And we said we don't want any trouble.
00:22:28 We'll follow the process.
00:22:31 They have respect.
00:22:32 Now it's out,
00:22:34 the government is saying
00:22:37 that the one who has the right to the title of EIT Bulagay is TDJ.
00:22:44 They should have respect.
00:22:46 So, they'll only use one.
00:22:48 If the question is, when can we use it?
00:22:50 Anytime.
00:22:52 We can use it.
00:22:54 Thank you.
00:22:56 Actually, we'll plan and talk about it later.
00:23:01 What about the theme song?
00:23:03 What do you say?
00:23:04 Definitely, there's no problem with the theme song.
00:23:07 You know, the big problem of the Ozone is that they can't sing.
00:23:12 They can't sing.
00:23:15 That's not their problem.
00:23:20 You can use a lot of songs.
00:23:25 I plan to do that today.
00:23:30 We'll just shout the audience.
00:23:33 So we'll still be kind.
00:23:36 Maybe when the other people stop using it,
00:23:44 and show respect,
00:23:47 that's the right thing to do.
00:23:51 Right, Mayor?
00:23:53 Hey, you're going to hear a story.
00:23:55 I'm telling you, Mayor!
00:23:57 I'm listening.
00:23:59 It's nice to hear from you.
00:24:01 We're here.
00:24:03 Wally, Paolo and Wally,
00:24:06 you two have been silent for a while.
00:24:08 If you don't stop, we'll do it.
00:24:11 He'll stop.
00:24:13 You're right.
00:24:15 I don't understand what you're saying.
00:24:19 But...
00:24:22 Mayor, Mayor!
00:24:24 It's nice to hear.
00:24:27 What's the question?
00:24:30 There's no question.
00:24:31 Congratulations, PBJ.
00:24:33 Thank you.
00:24:35 Joey, congrats.
00:24:36 Thank you.
00:24:38 Congratulations, PBJ.
00:24:40 Wally, what can you say?
00:24:44 I'm happy.
00:24:48 Congratulations.
00:24:51 There's an important word now,
00:24:54 compared to vindicated.
00:24:57 Respect.
00:24:59 That's the most important thing.
00:25:03 What I'm saying is,
00:25:05 show them respect,
00:25:07 and stop using
00:25:10 what's not theirs.
00:25:12 It's more fun.
00:25:16 And make sure that
00:25:18 not only Merry Christmas,
00:25:20 but Happy New Year.
00:25:22 Thank you.
00:25:24 Thank you.
00:25:26 Okay, thank you,
00:25:28 Miss Natalie.
00:25:30 Now, from Philippine Daily Inquirer,
00:25:32 Miss Marinelle Cruz.
00:25:34 Hello, good morning.
00:25:37 Thank you for your time.
00:25:41 I don't understand
00:25:44 what you're saying.
00:25:46 And definitely,
00:25:48 the other party will not take this sitting down.
00:25:52 What are your expectations?
00:25:54 Will they use it right away?
00:25:57 Or are they saying that they will appeal?
00:26:00 What's your plan, PBJ?
00:26:05 We know, and we feel,
00:26:11 we know that we're standing on the right side of the fence.
00:26:14 So, appealing won't get us out of our justice system.
00:26:19 So, anybody is right to appeal.
00:26:23 It's okay.
00:26:25 What's the problem?
00:26:27 What do you have to say, Atty.?
00:26:30 Will they use it right away if they appeal?
00:26:32 Or can they do it right away?
00:26:34 Like what P. Joey said,
00:26:37 the important word is "respect".
00:26:41 When a court decision is made,
00:26:44 the loser can appeal.
00:26:46 In the meantime,
00:26:48 will you make the decision or not?
00:26:51 Right?
00:26:52 So, if you're appealing,
00:26:54 it's right, it's your right.
00:26:56 But in the meantime,
00:26:58 should you make the decision or not?
00:27:00 Should you respect it or not?
00:27:02 So, if we're talking about it,
00:27:03 how can we respect it?
00:27:04 As Tito Vic and Bossy said,
00:27:08 maybe if we show respect,
00:27:10 it's better if the group uses the name
00:27:12 that no one thought of to offend.
00:27:16 But to answer your question,
00:27:18 there's an appeal process.
00:27:19 So, within 10 days,
00:27:20 we expect there will file a deal
00:27:22 to the director of the Bureau of Legal Affairs
00:27:25 who will decide to matter within 30 days.
00:27:28 And if they're not satisfied with the decision,
00:27:31 they can go up.
00:27:33 They can appeal to the Court of Appeals,
00:27:37 or even to the Supreme Court.
00:27:39 But the question is,
00:27:40 in the meantime,
00:27:41 they're the ones who are chasing
00:27:43 and being chased
00:27:45 how to show respect to the TTJ.
00:27:48 Even if it hurts them,
00:27:49 they have rights,
00:27:50 others use it.
00:27:51 Now, the government said that they have rights.
00:27:54 They're appealing now.
00:27:55 If they're appealing,
00:27:56 we should intervene.
00:27:57 Respect the decision first
00:27:59 and don't do it.
00:28:01 So, is it right that
00:28:03 you're just waiting for the court to decide?
00:28:06 Will they be able to remove you
00:28:09 or will they do it?
00:28:11 Yes, because they're the ones who are chasing.
00:28:13 They're the ones who announced their registration.
00:28:17 The only thing they're holding onto
00:28:19 why they're using the word "impulagan"
00:28:21 is that they have a trademark registration.
00:28:23 The government said,
00:28:25 "You're now cancelled.
00:28:27 You're not allowed to appeal."
00:28:29 They're the only ones holding onto it.
00:28:31 Why are they using the word "impulagan"?
00:28:33 Thank you for explaining.
00:28:35 I just understood that.
00:28:37 You're also cancelled?
00:28:39 Yes.
00:28:40 I don't want a heavy one,
00:28:42 like respect,
00:28:43 "Cancelled."
00:28:45 Don't be stubborn.
00:28:48 Okay?
00:28:50 You're laughing at something?
00:28:54 We're part of history now.
00:28:57 You don't notice that
00:28:59 something is happening in history.
00:29:01 It just happened that
00:29:03 the same show
00:29:05 is fighting on television.
00:29:08 Two "itbulagan" are fighting.
00:29:11 It's showtime.
00:29:13 They're not sitting down.
00:29:15 It's showtime.
00:29:17 They're not sitting down.
00:29:20 We love the show.
00:29:23 We love the show.
00:29:25 We love the show.
00:29:27 We love ABS.
00:29:29 My second question is,
00:29:31 please take us back to the time
00:29:33 when you made the title and the song.
00:29:35 What's happening?
00:29:37 You said that there's coffee,
00:29:39 there's a house,
00:29:40 there's a kitchen.
00:29:41 Please take us back to the time
00:29:43 and how did you make the song?
00:29:45 I'll go first before the song.
00:29:47 Next month.
00:29:49 We're thinking of the title
00:29:51 because we're fighting
00:29:53 the student canteen.
00:29:55 A lot of people are writing,
00:29:57 writers from the "Mahuhusay na Pulayo"
00:30:01 and we know that
00:30:05 the gimmick of the day
00:30:07 when you're titling a book,
00:30:09 you're sticking it.
00:30:11 So a lot of students are there.
00:30:13 Something canteen.
00:30:17 I'm really confused.
00:30:21 I believe in the tag list.
00:30:23 I think we started the tag list
00:30:25 in school.
00:30:27 School was also in 1978.
00:30:31 I don't know how many words.
00:30:35 I'm thinking,
00:30:37 because in school,
00:30:39 our name is "Escalera".
00:30:41 Until there's "Escalera",
00:30:43 there's "Madjung".
00:30:45 No, there's "Madjung".
00:30:47 Madjung was made 2000 years ago.
00:30:49 It won't disappear.
00:30:51 That's why the names of other characters
00:30:53 in school,
00:30:55 like Flores,
00:30:57 the school,
00:30:59 Wanbul University.
00:31:01 So I'm thinking,
00:31:03 what's a good tag list?
00:31:05 So I'm playing
00:31:07 in a canteen.
00:31:09 I'm thinking,
00:31:11 "Eat".
00:31:13 I'm thinking,
00:31:15 "Eat Bulaga".
00:31:17 But it's "Eating".
00:31:19 "Eat Bulaga".
00:31:21 Then I translate it.
00:31:23 Bulaga means "surprise".
00:31:25 So surprise at lunch, surprise at noon.
00:31:27 But it's too deep.
00:31:29 I put it deep.
00:31:31 "Eat Bulaga".
00:31:33 Nine letters.
00:31:35 Nine letters.
00:31:37 I'm very good at that.
00:31:39 You didn't get it yesterday.
00:31:41 When I was given an IPO.
00:31:43 IPO?
00:31:45 December 5.
00:31:47 December 5.
00:31:49 Channel 5.
00:31:51 What year?
00:31:53 '23.
00:31:55 I'm good at that.
00:31:57 If I read the words
00:31:59 left to right, right to left,
00:32:01 then I'm rambling.
00:32:03 So it's confusing.
00:32:05 So I translated it.
00:32:07 I didn't translate it.
00:32:09 But I'm a part of the host.
00:32:11 So when we had a meeting,
00:32:13 I said that.
00:32:15 But I thought
00:32:17 because it's just one cafe,
00:32:19 they don't have food here.
00:32:21 They're poor.
00:32:23 They don't have food.
00:32:25 Ellen is already full.
00:32:31 I'm the only one downstairs.
00:32:33 I'm the only one downstairs.
00:32:35 Justice Bureau 2.
00:32:39 What's the name of the bowling lanes?
00:32:41 Lane manager.
00:32:43 He's the one who helped us.
00:32:45 So that's where "Eat Bulaga" came from.
00:32:49 We met.
00:32:51 I said, "You don't want 'Eat Bulaga' anymore?"
00:32:53 Then, "No more. The rest is history."
00:32:55 Then a lot happened.
00:33:01 Then the song.
00:33:03 It wasn't complete.
00:33:05 So that's what happened.
00:33:07 When did you make it?
00:33:11 I don't think I know.
00:33:13 Milk and sugar.
00:33:15 The music of "Eat Bulaga"
00:33:17 This one.
00:33:19 Because there were some who used it first.
00:33:21 That's not there yet.
00:33:23 After a few months.
00:33:25 After a few months, I made it.
00:33:27 Because the first one wasn't there yet.
00:33:29 The tone wasn't there yet.
00:33:31 "Eat Bulaga"
00:33:33 It was like a steak.
00:33:39 It wasn't there yet.
00:33:41 So after a few months, nothing happened.
00:33:43 We weren't paid.
00:33:45 We weren't paid by the so-called producer.
00:33:49 A few months after,
00:33:55 maybe one year after
00:33:57 that song started.
00:33:59 That's when the melody came out.
00:34:01 As far as I remember,
00:34:05 I had a list of
00:34:07 possible lyrics.
00:34:09 The lyrics of the theme song.
00:34:13 Of course,
00:34:17 when you make music,
00:34:19 you need to have
00:34:21 the lyrics.
00:34:25 I just remember
00:34:27 when I was in the bathroom.
00:34:29 I was sitting.
00:34:31 That's why it's loud.
00:34:33 I'm just going to admit this.
00:34:35 I was sitting.
00:34:37 My knee hurt.
00:34:39 I was standing.
00:34:41 I was sitting.
00:34:43 I was thinking.
00:34:45 How does "Eat Bulaga" go?
00:34:53 It's hard.
00:34:55 Because when you make music
00:34:57 and lyrics,
00:34:59 how do I say it?
00:35:01 In words,
00:35:03 you need to sing it like that.
00:35:05 So it can't be like this.
00:35:09 So it needs to be like this.
00:35:21 That's what I was thinking about.
00:35:23 How do I sing
00:35:25 "Eat Bulaga"?
00:35:27 It's a bit tricky
00:35:31 for a writer
00:35:33 who wrote a book.
00:35:35 I introduced
00:35:41 a lot of things.
00:35:43 You were still a kid.
00:35:45 I was a kid.
00:35:47 You were angry.
00:35:49 And then,
00:35:51 was it Connie?
00:35:53 It was "Tawi Tawi".
00:35:55 She was still a kid.
00:35:57 That's it.
00:35:59 That's the second version.
00:36:01 There were 3 or 4 versions.
00:36:05 In the party,
00:36:07 Connie first.
00:36:09 Same melody.
00:36:11 Because she's a girl.
00:36:13 And then, "Barkada" was there.
00:36:15 There were a lot.
00:36:17 And then,
00:36:19 this new song
00:36:21 by Parang Gowdy,
00:36:23 was included
00:36:25 by the dubbers
00:36:27 from abroad.
00:36:29 Because they said,
00:36:31 "Why are you included?
00:36:33 Why are you young?
00:36:35 You're just stupid."
00:36:37 So,
00:36:39 it was included.
00:36:41 The whole fund.
00:36:45 That was never in question
00:36:47 because it's registered
00:36:49 under the Greek copyright.
00:36:51 It's included in our composition team
00:36:55 of our compositions
00:36:57 from 1975
00:36:59 until now.
00:37:01 It's registered.
00:37:03 We have a publishing group,
00:37:05 a publishing company
00:37:07 which is
00:37:09 Star Music.
00:37:11 It's registered there.
00:37:13 Thank you.
00:37:15 Thank you very much.
00:37:17 Next,
00:37:19 we'd like to call on
00:37:21 Rory Visco from the Business Mirror.
00:37:23 Good morning to all of you.
00:37:25 I have 2 questions.
00:37:29 One is for Atty.
00:37:31 Sir, talking of
00:37:33 the trademark issue,
00:37:35 how about
00:37:37 the copyright?
00:37:41 It's pending
00:37:43 in RTC Marikina.
00:37:45 The question of
00:37:47 copyright infringement.
00:37:49 It's separate.
00:37:51 And unfair competition.
00:37:53 So, in the decision of the IBO,
00:37:55 the question is, who has the right
00:37:57 to the title "It Bulaga?"
00:37:59 There.
00:38:01 In RTC Marikina,
00:38:03 the question is,
00:38:05 can they use the show
00:38:07 "It Bulaga?"
00:38:09 in the segments,
00:38:11 including the jingle.
00:38:13 Can they use it
00:38:15 to fight for the rights of the original
00:38:17 titles?
00:38:19 And is it being done to
00:38:21 fit the popularity
00:38:23 of the TVJ?
00:38:25 That's the question in RTC Marikina.
00:38:27 So, there. There's no decision yet.
00:38:29 We expect that the decision will be out soon.
00:38:31 In TVJ,
00:38:35 my question is,
00:38:37 I think you know what this means.
00:38:39 In celebration,
00:38:41 Boss Joey,
00:38:43 and also, Boss Dwig,
00:38:45 is there a chance
00:38:47 as a celebration
00:38:49 of this victory
00:38:51 that you made "Tough Hits 2.0"?
00:38:53 That's a good question, Rory.
00:38:59 It looks like you have a copy of "Tough Hits 4."
00:39:01 It's gone?
00:39:05 Do you have a cassette?
00:39:07 It's been remastered.
00:39:13 It's a CD.
00:39:15 Six CDs.
00:39:17 It's not far.
00:39:21 We can think of a draw.
00:39:23 Especially,
00:39:25 maybe sometime this weekend,
00:39:27 my recording studio
00:39:29 will be opened.
00:39:31 So, that's one of the
00:39:33 plans we have.
00:39:35 Thank you.
00:39:37 Thank you, Rory.
00:39:39 And now,
00:39:41 we give the floor to
00:39:43 Hannah Mallorca of Enquirer.net.
00:39:45 Go ahead, Miss Hannah.
00:39:47 Thank you. Good morning.
00:39:49 And congratulations, Boss Dwig.
00:39:51 So, this question was for TVJ
00:39:53 and Ator Nanggung.
00:39:55 Moving forward, what will be the next steps
00:39:57 since the other camp
00:39:59 has already planned to file
00:40:01 a motion of reconsideration?
00:40:03 And are you considering to file
00:40:05 a claim of royalty
00:40:07 on the trademark?
00:40:09 Royalty is the patent.
00:40:15 The earnings will go to the client.
00:40:17 First, on the claim,
00:40:21 our boss, Dwig Milodidina,
00:40:23 he's the one who devised the case
00:40:25 that will be filed in Marikina.
00:40:27 We chose them,
00:40:29 Tito Sen and TVJ.
00:40:31 What is your goal,
00:40:33 objective?
00:40:35 Should we pay them
00:40:37 for using your
00:40:39 products or should we stop them?
00:40:41 Tito Sen said,
00:40:43 "It's not about the money."
00:40:45 Money is not the issue.
00:40:47 So, there's no claim on the royalty
00:40:49 on the use. Just don't use it.
00:40:51 That's the objective
00:40:53 of the case that was filed
00:40:55 in Marikina.
00:40:57 We'll stop the use
00:40:59 of unauthorized products.
00:41:01 Until recently,
00:41:03 their faces were
00:41:05 on the website
00:41:07 of the other network.
00:41:09 Their faces
00:41:11 and their products are thumbnails.
00:41:13 So, please,
00:41:15 don't use it
00:41:17 because they're not connected.
00:41:19 We're also asking for damages
00:41:21 but not on the royalties.
00:41:23 We're asking for damages on the use
00:41:25 of the shows
00:41:27 that they're the host.
00:41:29 So, there's no claim
00:41:31 on the use because
00:41:33 from the beginning,
00:41:35 when Tito Sen was asked,
00:41:37 "What is your objective?"
00:41:39 Tito Sen said, "It's not about the money."
00:41:41 As far as the appeal
00:41:43 is concerned,
00:41:45 I believe we're standing on solid ground.
00:41:47 Thank you very much, Hannah.
00:41:53 Rachel Ciazo of PET.
00:41:55 Yes, we'd like to hear your question.
00:41:57 Hi, good morning.
00:41:59 Tito Sen or the attorney,
00:42:01 I just clarified
00:42:03 the entertainment services
00:42:05 that were approved by the IPO.
00:42:07 Well, technically,
00:42:11 since
00:42:13 it was filed,
00:42:15 what are we waiting for?
00:42:17 Have we received it?
00:42:19 I'm not sure
00:42:21 who will be able to
00:42:23 because we're so concerned about the other matters.
00:42:25 But definitely,
00:42:27 we filed for Joey
00:42:29 Entertainment Services,
00:42:31 Section 41.
00:42:33 In any case, how do you feel about
00:42:35 this because it's a
00:42:37 landmark decision
00:42:39 in case it will move forward
00:42:41 because the trademark versus copyright
00:42:43 is a very gray area.
00:42:45 Yes, I think
00:42:47 it will be a landmark issue.
00:42:49 And also,
00:42:51 well,
00:42:53 you could call it that.
00:42:55 I think it merely
00:42:57 clarifies,
00:42:59 it merely clarifies what was there
00:43:01 all along.
00:43:03 What copyright and trademark
00:43:05 and it's best that the copyright owner
00:43:07 or the creator
00:43:09 owns the trademark
00:43:11 unless he allowed
00:43:13 the trademark to be filed.
00:43:15 Right? It has always
00:43:17 been there.
00:43:19 This case will clarify these matters.
00:43:21 Because copyright is
00:43:25 at the moment,
00:43:27 in the moment of creation.
00:43:29 Correct. Sorry,
00:43:31 I'll just repeat the last one.
00:43:33 Message to the Dabar Cats
00:43:35 because for sure, at the start
00:43:37 of this whole case,
00:43:39 it's a huge gamble
00:43:41 to move forward with the whole
00:43:43 team despite the uncertainties
00:43:45 of the issue.
00:43:47 First of all,
00:43:49 we are very grateful
00:43:51 to them.
00:43:53 Right?
00:43:55 Hotel, Jose,
00:43:57 Jose Manalo,
00:43:59 Marlene,
00:44:01 Alistair,
00:44:03 Alan Kay, Brian Laguncillo,
00:44:05 Ryzon Maydison,
00:44:09 Miles Ocampo,
00:44:11 Karen Aislo,
00:44:13 and
00:44:15 May Lindoza,
00:44:17 plus
00:44:19 Alassian, right?
00:44:21 Now that they're
00:44:23 stuck with us,
00:44:25 stuck with us to the end.
00:44:27 And what we're talking about
00:44:29 is cooperation,
00:44:31 friendship,
00:44:33 how many years
00:44:35 we've been together.
00:44:37 We are very grateful
00:44:41 because we trusted them
00:44:43 even though they were offered
00:44:45 double the amount.
00:44:47 They didn't accept it.
00:44:49 They joined the variants
00:44:51 like us.
00:44:53 Like the three of us.
00:44:57 So, our
00:44:59 whole life, we are very grateful
00:45:01 to them and thank God.
00:45:03 There's a different kind
00:45:05 of people who joined
00:45:07 us in Ecuador.
00:45:09 It's a lot more
00:45:11 than the show itself
00:45:13 or the title
00:45:15 or whatever it's called.
00:45:17 The cooperation,
00:45:19 the friendship
00:45:21 that Uncle Sen has,
00:45:23 it's different.
00:45:25 They're all incomparable.
00:45:27 And I'll get back
00:45:29 to the word
00:45:31 respect.
00:45:33 Because they're all aware.
00:45:35 When we had the general meeting,
00:45:37 they all heard
00:45:39 what the
00:45:41 producers said.
00:45:45 They're supposed to be owners.
00:45:49 They heard
00:45:53 what they said
00:45:55 to the three of us.
00:45:57 They showed
00:46:01 respect.
00:46:05 And highly appreciated.
00:46:07 But Jose,
00:46:11 he's the one who forced me to join.
00:46:13 He's the one who forced you to join.
00:46:21 He's the one who forced you.
00:46:23 No, his eyes hurt.
00:46:25 No, it's like that.
00:46:29 They really appreciated us.
00:46:33 It's like
00:46:35 they joined the fight.
00:46:37 The fight for truth,
00:46:41 the fight for justice.
00:46:43 So thank you.
00:46:47 Is it okay, Tash?
00:46:49 Okay.
00:46:51 Thank you.
00:46:55 Thank you.
00:46:57 Ambek Nabos of
00:47:01 Marites University.
00:47:03 Hello,
00:47:09 congratulations.
00:47:11 Because, what do you call this?
00:47:15 Celebration Christmas.
00:47:17 Jesse Spirit is there.
00:47:19 Can we meet
00:47:21 Jesse Spirit?
00:47:23 Because we've been here.
00:47:25 Where's Jesse?
00:47:27 In America.
00:47:29 He's still young, he's not even 100 yet.
00:47:31 He'll be back soon.
00:47:35 He'll be back soon.
00:47:37 He'll tell us when he's back.
00:47:39 Anyway,
00:47:41 how is
00:47:43 everything that happened to you
00:47:45 with Tate,
00:47:47 and EJ?
00:47:49 How is your relationship
00:47:51 now that you're having
00:47:53 legal battles?
00:47:55 Is Tate
00:47:57 still talking to you
00:47:59 after all this?
00:48:01 Not just
00:48:03 about paying,
00:48:05 what should be paid for,
00:48:07 or what?
00:48:09 Is there an effort
00:48:11 to talk
00:48:13 especially in this situation?
00:48:15 Nothing.
00:48:19 We never initiated anything.
00:48:21 There was once
00:48:25 Tony contacted us
00:48:27 about this.
00:48:29 We didn't have any plan
00:48:33 to entertain.
00:48:35 Once he came,
00:48:37 we didn't
00:48:41 notice.
00:48:43 The scenario that will happen
00:48:45 now, as Atty. Buko said earlier,
00:48:47 I'll just say this,
00:48:49 because the court's decision
00:48:51 has already been released,
00:48:53 and it should be followed.
00:48:55 What if the other party still uses it,
00:48:57 and says that you've become too kind?
00:48:59 Can we watch
00:49:01 two eggs hatching
00:49:03 in your country?
00:49:05 The people
00:49:07 will be the ones to judge.
00:49:09 Well, it will continue
00:49:13 with the legal battles.
00:49:15 But the people,
00:49:17 you can see the reaction of the people
00:49:19 now.
00:49:21 I'll just say this.
00:49:23 The IPO said something good
00:49:29 about the decision.
00:49:31 What gives
00:49:33 the right to a person
00:49:35 to use drugs is registration.
00:49:37 But not because
00:49:39 you're already registered,
00:49:41 you're the owner of the drug.
00:49:43 You need to be the owner,
00:49:45 and you have the right to register,
00:49:47 because you're the owner.
00:49:49 So, the people,
00:49:51 their registration,
00:49:53 they have the right to use it.
00:49:55 That's why they're asking for respect.
00:49:57 Now, if they still
00:49:59 use it,
00:50:01 then I'll tell you
00:50:03 who's not following
00:50:05 the law, who doesn't have respect
00:50:07 for the decision of the IPO.
00:50:09 Ask them if they can do that.
00:50:11 It's up to them.
00:50:13 Maybe
00:50:15 we should follow the law.
00:50:17 Follow the law.
00:50:19 Unless you're already used to illegal.
00:50:21 Last question,
00:50:23 Christmas plans for
00:50:25 the IndyJL
00:50:27 program?
00:50:29 I'll buy a gift for you.
00:50:31 I'm already old.
00:50:33 I'm already one size up.
00:50:35 I'm already one and a half.
00:50:37 I have shoes there.
00:50:39 I'm already a judge.
00:50:41 Thank you, Al.
00:50:43 Thank you, Ambe.
00:50:45 Ambe from Bulgar,
00:50:47 Maritess University in Hatow.
00:50:49 Now, Janice Davina
00:50:51 from Bulgar.
00:50:53 Janice?
00:50:55 First of all,
00:50:57 congratulations.
00:50:59 Because this victory,
00:51:01 you deserve it.
00:51:03 So, my question is,
00:51:05 did you already know about the decision?
00:51:07 Or did you expect it?
00:51:09 I'll
00:51:11 speak first.
00:51:13 I expected it.
00:51:15 I expected it.
00:51:17 If...
00:51:19 If...
00:51:21 What I'm saying is,
00:51:23 if you think it's right,
00:51:25 if you think it's right,
00:51:27 that's what I believe.
00:51:29 I know it's right.
00:51:31 I know legally, it's right.
00:51:33 That's why I expected it.
00:51:35 I just don't know when.
00:51:37 So, from the start,
00:51:39 you were really eager to decide
00:51:41 on the decision.
00:51:43 Yes.
00:51:45 It's like giving birth.
00:51:47 It's been a month since I had a baby.
00:51:49 There's a...
00:51:51 There's a baby coming out.
00:51:53 There's a baby coming in.
00:51:55 But you know, there's a baby coming out.
00:51:57 That's how it is.
00:51:59 Because...
00:52:01 The baby hasn't come out yet.
00:52:03 That's why...
00:52:05 That's it.
00:52:07 That's what I said here.
00:52:09 You know, you're right.
00:52:11 If you want.
00:52:13 Maybe it's right, 44 years.
00:52:15 Right?
00:52:17 Because...
00:52:19 If we know we're wrong,
00:52:21 we won't force it.
00:52:23 We can't do it.
00:52:25 We'll force it when we know we're wrong.
00:52:27 Right?
00:52:29 So, we won't force it.
00:52:31 That's why we betrayed you
00:52:33 when we knew we were wrong.
00:52:35 I'm just being nice.
00:52:37 I was followed?
00:52:39 Yes.
00:52:41 What?
00:52:43 Nothing.
00:52:45 They were all followed.
00:52:47 They were all followed.
00:52:49 I was not followed.
00:52:51 I'm just being nice.
00:52:53 I'm just being nice.
00:52:55 I have a question.
00:52:57 Because now, of course,
00:52:59 the person you're holding is stronger.
00:53:01 They're also asking
00:53:03 what's the meaning of
00:53:05 returning to the regular
00:53:07 until you can't walk?
00:53:09 That's her status.
00:53:11 She's married.
00:53:13 She's regular.
00:53:15 Sometimes, she walks
00:53:17 or she walks.
00:53:19 But she's regular.
00:53:21 She's been here all this time.
00:53:23 My last question
00:53:25 is also...
00:53:27 What's your feeling
00:53:29 because now,
00:53:31 of course, there's a promotion of MNL.
00:53:33 What's your feeling
00:53:35 that Adam Richardson,
00:53:37 who's with you,
00:53:39 promoted you to the other show?
00:53:41 No problem.
00:53:43 They should promote
00:53:45 everyone who can.
00:53:47 No problem.
00:53:49 And also,
00:53:51 Antin is a contract star of GBA.
00:53:53 You know he won't promote.
00:53:55 We have no problem with that at all.
00:53:57 But if you can,
00:53:59 can you promote yourself?
00:54:01 I'm Antin.
00:54:03 Bisoy!
00:54:05 He's a sharon.
00:54:07 He's Antin.
00:54:09 He's a sharon.
00:54:11 Another one.
00:54:13 Thank you so much.
00:54:15 Thank you.
00:54:17 What are you going to call him?
00:54:19 Janis Navidad.
00:54:21 Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa.
00:54:23 Janis Navidad.
00:54:25 Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa.
00:54:27 And from Malina, Pulutin,
00:54:29 Robert, Rick and Tina.
00:54:31 Good evening.
00:54:33 I'm P.T.D.
00:54:35 It's been almost 6 months
00:54:37 since you moved to Bacong.
00:54:39 How are they?
00:54:41 Are they living in Bacong?
00:54:43 Or are you at home?
00:54:45 At home?
00:54:47 We adjusted
00:54:49 right away.
00:54:51 Of course,
00:54:53 James and his
00:54:55 you know,
00:54:57 TV5 leadership
00:54:59 wanted to
00:55:01 have a bigger house.
00:55:03 But there's no problem.
00:55:05 Our community
00:55:07 has become beautiful.
00:55:09 You know, we just held
00:55:11 a TV show.
00:55:13 The studio we use is Channel 5.
00:55:15 You don't know.
00:55:17 I'm letting you know.
00:55:19 The day you entered,
00:55:21 the round building
00:55:23 that day,
00:55:25 TV5 owned
00:55:27 that station.
00:55:29 We had a TV show.
00:55:31 We met here.
00:55:33 Joey was corrupt there.
00:55:35 It was okay.
00:55:37 The title was okay.
00:55:39 1970s?
00:55:41 1972, 1973.
00:55:43 It was a four-bedroom house.
00:55:45 It was TV5.
00:55:47 Channel 5.
00:55:49 That's where we started.
00:55:51 We got address
00:55:53 from TV5.
00:55:55 We got the address
00:55:57 because we felt
00:55:59 the kindness
00:56:01 of the people
00:56:03 who watched TV5.
00:56:05 The people
00:56:07 who watched TV5
00:56:09 made a request
00:56:11 to have
00:56:13 a good
00:56:15 conversation.
00:56:17 Straight.
00:56:19 Legal.
00:56:21 No gossip.
00:56:23 That's why
00:56:25 we quickly became
00:56:27 comfortable
00:56:29 with our partners.
00:56:31 It's different.
00:56:33 I feel like we're starting again.
00:56:35 The
00:56:37 desire.
00:56:39 It's still the same.
00:56:43 When we see the latest,
00:56:45 the news, the gossip.
00:56:47 It's fun.
00:56:49 I'm from Venezuela.
00:56:51 What can we expect
00:56:53 in TVJ 2021?
00:56:55 Next year.
00:56:59 New Year?
00:57:01 Next year.
00:57:03 Can you make it happen?
00:57:05 Maybe the club will be in the public.
00:57:07 Why?
00:57:09 It's not true.
00:57:13 I have a show
00:57:15 on Friday and Saturday.
00:57:17 I'll be here.
00:57:19 I'll be here.
00:57:21 The stove is already on fire.
00:57:23 They're here.
00:57:25 Our writers,
00:57:27 us,
00:57:29 and
00:57:31 Jennifer,
00:57:33 and
00:57:35 the real geniuses.
00:57:37 The real geniuses.
00:57:39 Not just the geniuses.
00:57:41 By the way,
00:57:43 our writers are good.
00:57:45 They're awesome.
00:57:47 Our production staff.
00:57:49 We're thankful
00:57:53 to our co-hosts.
00:57:55 We're thankful to them.
00:57:59 They stuck with us.
00:58:01 They joined us.
00:58:03 They're still here.
00:58:07 So, expect
00:58:09 next year,
00:58:11 we'll have a new therapy.
00:58:13 A new therapy.
00:58:15 We'll have new people.
00:58:17 You'll be blown away.
00:58:21 Let's see what
00:58:25 Jowapao can say.
00:58:27 Jowapao!
00:58:29 What do you want to say?
00:58:31 What do you want to say?
00:58:33 I don't know what to say.
00:58:35 It's our anniversary.
00:58:37 First,
00:58:41 I want to say
00:58:43 at home,
00:58:45 yes, at home.
00:58:47 Recliner!
00:58:49 But,
00:58:51 thank you.
00:58:55 Thank you so much
00:58:57 to TVJ,
00:58:59 to the group of TVJ.
00:59:01 Thank you so much.
00:59:03 I just want to
00:59:05 go back to
00:59:07 the last interview
00:59:09 because I'm not nervous.
00:59:11 It's true.
00:59:13 I'm not nervous even though this happened.
00:59:15 Because, you know,
00:59:17 you know that
00:59:19 everything and whoever
00:59:21 needs it the most,
00:59:23 and needs it the most,
00:59:25 that's where they'll give it.
00:59:27 That's where the inner feelings are.
00:59:29 That's what should be yours.
00:59:31 That's the best thing
00:59:33 that's growing in me.
00:59:35 It's like they're putting us,
00:59:37 TVJ, the group of EAT,
00:59:39 on the right path
00:59:41 to a good gift for Christmas.
00:59:43 A very good gift for Christmas.
00:59:45 And this is the book
00:59:47 that's like making a book
00:59:49 that's not on purpose.
00:59:51 The book that's all about happiness
00:59:53 won't be able to finish.
00:59:55 There's a struggle in the middle.
00:59:57 But here it is.
00:59:59 The happiness is near again
01:00:01 and the happiness will continue
01:00:03 until we all succeed.
01:00:05 We're here today,
01:00:07 TVJ, together with you,
01:00:09 and we really open our hearts
01:00:11 that we won't be swayed
01:00:13 by the people we're putting our money in.
01:00:15 Thank you very much.
01:00:17 [applause]
01:00:19 [inaudible]
01:00:21 [laughter]
01:00:23 [inaudible]
01:00:25 Thank you very much.
01:00:27 And to Dabargar,
01:00:29 what did Dabargar say?
01:00:31 What Mayor said?
01:00:33 [inaudible]
01:00:35 [inaudible]
01:00:37 Thank you very much.
01:00:39 Same, same.
01:00:41 Thank you, guys.
01:00:43 Thank you, TVJ.
01:00:45 [inaudible]
01:00:47 I love you.
01:00:49 Thank you, Jowa Pau.
01:00:51 Thank you, Jowa Pau.
01:00:53 We still have questions.
01:00:55 I'm from the online community,
01:00:57 our Dabargars.
01:00:59 Before we go,
01:01:01 you can hear,
01:01:03 my friends from the press,
01:01:05 I have a question from Joe L. Lin.
01:01:07 If the other party
01:01:09 used the fake news,
01:01:11 is there a case
01:01:13 that can be filed
01:01:15 since TVJ won?
01:01:17 Atty., maybe you can
01:01:19 answer this.
01:01:21 Yes,
01:01:23 there is a violation of their copyright.
01:01:25 Because you don't need
01:01:27 to register the copyright.
01:01:29 It attaches from the moment of creation.
01:01:31 The protection is given by the law
01:01:33 to the copyright holders.
01:01:35 And that's why they filed
01:01:37 in Marikina.
01:01:39 In RTC Marikina,
01:01:41 the copyright infringement
01:01:43 was filed against their rights
01:01:45 as original copyright holders.
01:01:47 So if you ask, is there a case to be filed?
01:01:49 Yes, it was sampled
01:01:51 in RTC Marikina.
01:01:53 What can be filed?
01:01:55 Maybe I can be next.
01:01:57 [Laughter]
01:01:59 Again, it was infringement.
01:02:01 Can you explain the word
01:02:03 copyright?
01:02:05 The copyright is given as protection
01:02:07 to the authors
01:02:09 of the programs,
01:02:11 songs,
01:02:13 letters, poems.
01:02:15 The law gives protection
01:02:17 that no one can use
01:02:19 if the author is not there
01:02:21 and the people he has infringed.
01:02:23 If you admit that you have not infringed,
01:02:25 you are infringed.
01:02:27 Who will decide
01:02:29 that the copyright
01:02:31 belongs to this person?
01:02:33 The court.
01:02:35 That's why
01:02:37 this development in the IPO
01:02:39 is welcome to us
01:02:41 because the IPO said that you are the one
01:02:43 who has the right to keep it.
01:02:45 Do I need to file?
01:02:47 I will file this
01:02:49 for Joey.
01:02:51 CRE-A-TOR
01:02:53 CRE-A-TOR
01:02:55 He will teach him
01:02:57 to give his own.
01:02:59 The registration of copyright
01:03:01 does not need to be filed.
01:03:03 From the time you infringed
01:03:05 he wrote it,
01:03:07 he is the one who has the copyright.
01:03:09 It does not need to be registered.
01:03:11 What time is it?
01:03:13 Watch out for this,
01:03:15 this is expensive.
01:03:21 We have a lot of
01:03:23 double cuts.
01:03:25 It's a bit confusing.
01:03:27 Copyright, trademark.
01:03:29 The trademark
01:03:31 is a national mark
01:03:33 that is given for a product
01:03:35 to be recognized where it came from
01:03:37 so that it can be distinguished
01:03:39 from the product of others.
01:03:41 That's why the copyright is separate from the trademark.
01:03:43 The trademark needs to be registered
01:03:45 so that others will know
01:03:47 that this is mine.
01:03:49 The other said
01:03:51 that we registered first
01:03:53 so we have the right
01:03:55 because you did not register.
01:03:57 But the IPO said
01:03:59 that you did not register first
01:04:01 because you need to prove
01:04:03 that you are the owner.
01:04:05 That's good.
01:04:07 Let's make a show.
01:04:09 Good morning, brother.
01:04:11 Can you do it?
01:04:17 So the word "Eat Bulaga"
01:04:19 is the trademark?
01:04:21 Yes.
01:04:23 They trademarked it
01:04:25 but the IPO said
01:04:27 that you did not register first
01:04:29 as a trademark.
01:04:31 Registration does not vest ownership.
01:04:33 It does not become yours
01:04:35 because you registered first.
01:04:37 Because if you think about it,
01:04:39 if they registered
01:04:41 the picture
01:04:43 of "Eat Bulaga"
01:04:45 and they will change it,
01:04:47 is it okay?
01:04:49 The copyright is different
01:04:53 because the trademark is the logo.
01:04:55 But the copyright
01:04:57 is the whole show,
01:04:59 the words, "Eat Bulaga"
01:05:01 is copyrighted.
01:05:03 Even if they change the presentation
01:05:05 of the trademark,
01:05:07 the original copyright
01:05:09 will still be yours.
01:05:11 I don't know.
01:05:13 I don't know.
01:05:15 I don't know.
01:05:17 Give it to him.
01:05:19 Thank you very much.
01:05:23 We are greeting
01:05:25 our Dowercasts online
01:05:27 and all our social media platforms.
