The car's the star: Bucharest classic car museum celebrates decade of opening

The astonishing collection has been assembled by one of Romania's most famous sports stars.

00:10 The event near the Bucharest airport includes hundreds of vehicles, some of them dating

00:14 back to 1899.

00:17 And they range from high-performance models to Formula One single-seaters.

00:20 "Each of these cars here is 100% functional, or at least that's how it should be.

00:37 And every 40 days or so, I do three laps around the house here, or four, a kilometer, a kilometer

00:44 or two, with each one, because that's how you choose the powder."

00:51 The car museum includes more than 380 models, 170 of which are on display.

00:58 "Many of the cars exhibited here have been named after musicians or sports.

01:05 For example, this Rolls-Royce Phantom 5, produced in 1960, was bought by Sir Elton John in 1990.

01:26 "The first car I ever bought in the United States, in 1969, was a Mustang Mach 1.
