00:02 - There are a lot of people
00:03 around the National Football League
00:04 wondering what is up with the Eagles, right?
00:06 And look, we talked Friday.
00:08 I picked the Niners to win by three.
00:11 But watching that game as it unfolded
00:14 and talking to people after the game
00:16 that really know what's going on there.
00:18 Look, the Niners came into the game
00:20 and I give Vegas credit.
00:21 They clearly had the better football team.
00:23 They've been playing better than the Eagles.
00:24 The Eagles had skated by.
00:26 When they trailed in the first half 17 to seven
00:28 of the previous two games, they wound up coming back to win
00:30 which is a sign of a good football team.
00:32 But the Niners overall executed well.
00:35 Now here's the key to the game though.
00:38 While they executed well later in the game,
00:40 first quarter, Mike, they couldn't do anything right.
00:43 But here's the problem.
00:44 The Eagles go down twice and get two field goals.
00:46 They just move the ball effortlessly.
00:49 Just look great, but they couldn't cash in.
00:52 Remember texting some people this yesterday,
00:55 like this is not a good sign for them
00:57 because you don't get a lot of chances against the Niners
01:00 to come back defense.
01:01 If you don't cash in, you're in trouble.
01:03 Then you saw the final three quarters
01:06 was absolute dominance.
01:08 They outscored the Eagles 42 to 13.
01:10 That's bad now.
01:12 So to spin this forward, now people wanna know
01:15 who are the Eagles?
01:16 They're still the number one seed in the NFC.
01:18 The Niners now obviously have the tiebreaker
01:20 they're a game back.
01:21 So are the Lions.
01:23 They're a team that if you just break down
01:26 like I did, you and I did on Friday.
01:28 The Niners have not only a better roster,
01:31 but they have a better injury situation.
01:32 Eagles who signed Shaq Leonard today for a deal
01:35 it's only for the rest of the season, by the way,
01:37 and playoffs.
01:38 If you just look at their situation, Mike,
01:42 they're really bad at off the ball linebacker.
01:44 That means guys are not playing with their hand down.
01:46 Guys are playing off the line of scrimmage.
01:49 They have the oldest secondary in the National Football League.
01:51 This is a pretty damning stat that I'm gonna give you.
01:54 When you look at yardage and touchdowns given up
01:58 to opposing wide receivers, tight ends, running backs
02:01 and quarterbacks, they rank 32nd.
02:03 Last season, Mike, they closed the season in the top five.
02:08 That's how good their defense was.
02:09 They're not giving explosive plays in yardage
02:11 and touchdowns.
02:12 This year, they can't get off the field.
02:14 They're struggling.
02:15 Right now they have the least productive defense.
02:17 They're way down in sacks.
02:19 It is amazing though, it is amazing
02:20 that they still have the number one seed.
02:21 You wouldn't think that given the numbers
02:23 that the Dodgers gave you.
02:24 They're not stopping anyone.
02:26 Oh, by the way, they play a buzzsaw on the Cowboys
02:29 who have a great offense on Sunday night in Big D.
