00:00 we'll go to the furthest corner and stay there. Protect yourself at all times and that is the line for low shots guys.
00:07 Occasionally think the low back is a foul.
00:10 Touch gloves.
00:25 12 rounds for the British and Commonwealth Cruiserweight titles.
00:30 The defending British champion, Mikhail Lawal in the white.
00:33 Isaac Chamberlain in the gold and black.
00:38 Drop it Mikhail, drop it.
00:40 Keep it up, keep it up.
00:56 Keep it up, keep it up.
00:58 It's alright now.
00:59 Chamberlain just trying to make use of that jab early on.
01:10 Lawal staying on the outside and just having a look at things.
01:14 As Chamberlain again just steals the lead left hand to the body.
01:17 Softer, softer.
01:24 KG start so far from Lawal.
01:26 Mikhail Lawal just fires a left hook off the back foot there.
01:47 Prior to that he'd barely thrown anything.
01:50 Look for the uppercut there too which was well short.
01:53 Not yet, not yet.
01:54 Remember right on defense, left, keep working.
01:57 Mikhail's got used to this.
01:59 Isaac's always moving, he's moving his head, he's twitching a lot.
02:02 A lot of Mikhail's previous opponents have sort of sat in front of him
02:05 so he's able to tee off, he's able to jab.
02:07 But the offset and the movement and the energy from Isaac is offsetting him there.
02:12 He's got to get him in there.
02:13 Chamberlain with the left hand to the body.
02:26 That goes up top with the uppercut.
02:27 It was caught by the glove of Lawal.
02:29 Chamberlain looking for the right over the top as well.
02:31 And this has been a very passive display from Mikhail Lawal in the opening round so far.
02:36 He wants to let go with a left hook there.
02:39 Chamberlain though was out of range having extended the jab nicely.
02:43 Isaac can't get too greedy on the front foot just because he's landing
02:54 because Mikhail carries that power.
02:55 He's got to be careful with those counters.
02:57 As you saw there just a minute ago, he tried to wing that left hook right over.
03:00 Once again there with the right hand.
03:02 [crowd noise]
03:12 Closing stages of round one.
03:14 Faint there from Chamberlain who's taken this opener by virtue of being the busier of the two.
03:19 He's landed that lead left hand, not with any straight power.
03:23 He doubled up on the hook to the body.
03:25 Ahead as well in the corner, away to our right hand side.
03:29 [crowd noise]
03:43 Right, I'm off his back.
03:45 Deep breaths.
03:46 Deep breaths.
03:50 Deep breaths.
03:51 In.
03:52 Right.
03:53 What he's trying to do, he's trying to bring you onto his right hand.
03:57 Keep stepping, little steps to your right.
04:00 Do you understand?
04:01 That's all he's trying to do.
04:03 All you've got to do is keep twitching, keep burying your jab
04:06 and you will see the opportunity for that right hand.
04:09 Right hand on defense, not now.
04:11 Don't let it go right hand now.
04:13 Do you understand?
04:14 Faint.
04:15 There's another two rounds you need to go.
04:17 You need to watch him for two rounds.
04:19 But be a little bit active with your left and feints.
04:22 Close ten seconds.
04:27 Sultan Kebchebekov leading that corner.
04:30 For Mikhail Loawe.
04:32 He's back at Stonebridge.
04:34 It's boxing home really, Loawe, these days.
04:37 He was with John Edwards for that fight against Jamison
04:39 where he won the British title.
04:41 And then when this was supposed to happen at the end of May,
04:44 he had been training with Don Al Smith.
04:46 Since then he made another alteration.
04:50 It's often not ideal, but as I say, Stonebridge is where he's
04:55 always really felt like he's belonged.
05:06 Let's go with some spike with that right hand for the first time.
05:09 And that's how he likes to throw it.
05:11 That kind of shallow arc.
05:12 It comes over the top slightly.
05:14 Chamberlain steps in.
05:16 Douglas toes in.
05:17 Throwing that left and right hand.
05:19 Trying to curl that right in around the back of the guard.
05:22 That was the best of the barrage there, really.
05:26 Really good choppy right hand from Isaac there.
05:30 [Indiscernible]
05:38 [Indiscernible]
05:46 [Indiscernible]
05:52 [Indiscernible]
06:02 And just using that jab.
06:04 He's just making sure he lands it, Chamberlain.
06:06 Whether it's shoulders, whether it's chest, whatever it is,
06:08 as Chris was saying, he's pumping it out.
06:11 It hits your opponent.
06:13 It makes him reset, start again,
06:15 then tries to fling that right hand over the top.
06:18 The smile on the face there of LaWal.
06:21 [Indiscernible]
06:26 The jab's really effective from Isaac, especially to the body.
06:29 It just keeps Mikhail from walking him down.
06:32 [Indiscernible]
06:39 Isaac's shape.
06:40 He's in good shape.
06:44 He had first.
06:45 He had first.
06:47 [Indiscernible]
06:55 Again, Chamberlain just stepping in with that jab.
07:01 He's taking the second round in the same way that he took the first.
07:05 What have you seen from LaWal here so far, Matt?
07:07 Not a lot.
07:08 Very cagey.
07:10 And when he does open up, he doesn't seem to have the speed.
07:13 That was a good jab from him there.
07:15 He's trying to -- yeah.
07:20 I mean, I guess he's having a look at Chamberlain.
07:22 He's trying to get the read of him.
07:24 He's trying to get the timing of his jab, et cetera, to come over the top.
07:28 But, you know, he's got to be careful that he doesn't let too many rounds
07:30 slip away, and then he's got to give himself a mountain to climb.
07:33 [Bell rings]
07:35 [Cheering]
07:43 A truck is a tool, but a Ram is life.
07:47 It's the let's load up the ATV's life, the my kids play way too many sports life,
07:53 the let's find a secret spot to fish life.
07:57 Nice.

08:22 Command hooks are easy to apply and remove cleanly.
08:26 Command, do no harm.
08:28 Chipotle's Garnet Sada is back.
08:31 It's our most tender cuts of steak, grilled and seasoned with cumin,
08:34 oregano, and coriander.
08:36 Finish with fresh lime and hand-chopped cilantro.
08:39 Garnet Sada, this is our best steak ever.
08:42 Two rounds into this potential 12th round between Mikael Llewellyn,
08:46 Isaac Chamberlain for the British and Commonwealth Cruiserweight titles.
08:49 We listen into the Chamberlain corner.
08:51 Walsh are away, and Chris Willems-Smith on my left was nodding away
08:55 in approval at the advice from Bobby Mills, and Chrissy was just saying,
08:59 "Look, just don't get greedy.
09:02 "Don't need to be over-expansive. Keep landing that jab."
09:04 Llewellyn coming out at the start of the third with more aggression
09:07 as he needs to.
09:08 Yeah, absolutely. You can't otherwise get a really good right hand there.
09:11 Isaac looked stunned for a split second, but I'm not sure if Mikael saw it.
09:15 But yeah, I think it was solid advice from Bobby Mills in the corner,
09:19 "Get back to your jab. Don't try and force it too much.
09:22 "Don't get too greedy."
09:24 [CROWD NOISE]
09:33 Llewellyn just trying to get on top of Chamberlain,
09:36 and this can be what he likes to do.
09:39 He's in a way unusual for a really big puncher with those long arms,
09:43 because what he doesn't particularly need is room to throw it.
09:48 He doesn't need it to travel that far long and loose.
09:52 He can get right on top of you, fling it over the top,
09:55 or find space for the upper cut and do damage.
09:57 Chamberlain putting on his heels with a nice jab again there, though.
10:02 [CROWD NOISE]
10:16 Chamberlain's got the faster jab.
10:18 He's got the better long-range boxing skills.
10:20 So from his point of view, he just wants this kind of pace,
10:23 keep it at this range.
10:25 I think he can box like this all night.
10:27 [CROWD NOISE]
10:29 He's putting in some damaging shots here on the inside.
10:31 Short left hook, short right hands to the body.
10:33 Worked the body earlier on as well really well.
10:36 [CROWD NOISE]
10:39 And it's Chamberlain now just trying to lean on Llewellyn,
10:42 impose himself physically.
10:45 Llewellyn trying to get off those ropes.
10:46 Chamberlain won't let him out.
10:48 Bob Williams just allowing them to sort it out themselves,
10:51 which is good recording.
10:52 And Chamberlain looking for that left hand
10:55 and for the upper cut.
10:56 Llewellyn just trying to cover up on the ropes right above us
11:00 and throw back himself.
11:02 [CROWD NOISE]
11:07 Isaac's really believing in his work here
11:09 and believing in what he's doing.
11:11 And obviously believing in his engine as well,
11:12 because he's ready just to go through the gears.
11:14 We've seen him in nutritional fights before.
11:16 And I think they've given him the confidence
11:19 to be able to do that.
11:20 [CROWD NOISE]
11:29 Tries to rip with that right hand there, Llewellyn,
11:31 off the back of the jab to the body.
11:33 Found a few seconds of round three.
11:37 [CROWD NOISE]
11:52 So three rounds in here.
11:53 Let's see what Johnnie and Vidal are making of this one so far.
11:58 Johnnie, how are you seeing this?
11:59 A good start from Isaac so far.
12:01 Without a doubt.
12:02 And the problem that Llewellyn's making
12:03 is he's trying to time the shot of Isaac
12:06 instead of anticipate the shot.
12:08 Isaac's too fast for him to land a timed shot.
12:11 So he's got to anticipate it and guess it
12:13 to try and slow him down.
12:14 What Isaac's doing is perfect.
12:16 Shoot the shots to the body, move left to right,
12:18 close him down, make him think,
12:20 and don't give him a second target.
12:22 What do you reckon?
12:23 Are you agreeing with Johnnie?
12:24 Is it just Mikhail just waiting too much?
12:26 Yeah, Isaac's using the jab well,
12:27 which is keeping Llewellyn balanced.
12:29 But he still has to find rhythm.
12:30 You can't take it in turns.
12:32 And I think that's why he's losing 3-0 right now.
12:35 It's a strong start though from Isaac.
12:36 I want to see more from him.
12:38 From Isaac, yeah, Isaac's just doing what he has to do.
12:40 Keep doing that, get the timing in,
12:42 and he'll get a great shot.
12:43 A start break in the defence of Llewellyn.
12:45 Just carry on and do what you're doing.
12:47 Let's see how it unfolds.
12:48 Second down, round four.
12:51 So into the fourth, Isaac Chamberlain with the lead here.
12:57 Llewellyn not looking perturbed.
12:59 This is the 12-round fight.
13:00 He's never been beyond eight himself.
13:02 Llewellyn has been through those fires,
13:05 and hot those fires were,
13:07 against the man next to us in Bournemouth last summer.
13:13 Llewellyn looking to try and win with that hook.
13:15 He's got that power, we know that.
13:17 He knows that.
13:19 If you've got confidence in that,
13:21 then what it can do is not allow you to panic
13:24 if you're dropping rounds.
13:26 But there's a flip side to that coin.
13:29 It can sometimes make you a little bit
13:32 too willing, almost, to fall behind,
13:38 feeling that at any moment you can find that equaliser.
13:41 But whilst you're not finding it,
13:43 you're just dropping rounds, basically, Chris.
13:46 Yeah, and Isaac knows this work's taken a lot out of Mikel.
13:50 He's hitting him clean for head and body.
13:53 So that's going to take it, as much as he's putting in work,
13:55 it's going to take a lot out of Mikel as well.
13:57 So it's really good from Isaac.
13:59 He's punched perfect so far.
14:01 Working well to the body there, Chamberlain.
14:05 Pushing a lot back into the ropes,
14:08 and then just releasing, finding a little bit of room.
14:11 Good work, Mikel.
14:14 Get in there!
14:16 Come on, break, Kevin!
14:20 He's down, he's down.
14:41 He's down, he's down.
14:43 We saw the inexperience of Louis Green in the last fight,
14:46 not going to 12, but it could be the same with Mikel here,
14:49 not believing in that because he hasn't done it before,
14:51 and that's where that experience comes in.
14:53 Great effort from Mikel there, that choppy right hand.
14:56 Two fighters right above us.
15:04 Bob Williams that time did get in and break them.
15:06 Into the final minutes of round four,
15:09 Chamberlain taps to the body and looks for the uppercut.
15:13 Good job, good job now.
15:15 Chamberlain's won all these rounds, he's busier,
15:18 he's landed the better shots, but he's also used up a lot more energy
15:21 out of the two as well.
15:23 Mikel, very conservative, it is a 12-round fight.
15:26 As fatigue does kick in down the stretch,
15:30 you make more mistakes, and Luewel, he does carry power,
15:33 so Chamberlain's got to stay focused, stay switched on,
15:36 and maybe don't have to win the round so big,
15:39 conserve energy.
15:42 Yeah, I agree with you there, Matt.
15:44 It looks like he's just trying to break him down
15:46 and just slowly chop away at him,
15:48 but like you said, that could cost him later on.
15:51 You keep going to the ropes, don't do it.
16:04 Remember, down, up, down, up.
16:07 It was near there, but you need to keep working.
16:10 You need to get up and down, basic things, basic levels.
16:13 Do you understand?
16:15 Yeah, I'm going to four rounds.
16:22 Four rounds, even in four rounds, you need to hit all the time.
16:26 When you're inside, let it go, you don't have to be happy.
16:30 You know this is tough.
16:32 You need to start working inside.
16:34 You need to start working inside.
16:37 Well, there's Joshua Guarazzi, one of a number of fighters
16:39 down at ringside tonight.
16:41 As he said to Andy, it's frustrating for him.
16:44 It's hugely frustrating.
16:46 You've done all that work, but it's the same for both of them.
16:49 And Cesar's absolutely devastated
16:52 to have to pull out of that fight.
16:55 Listening into the corner there, it was Ian Johnson, Jumbo,
17:00 just leaning through the ropes.
17:02 I couldn't quite catch all of it,
17:04 but I think what he was saying to him was
17:06 you've got to start to pick things up,
17:08 because as we've been commenting, he's four rounds down now.
17:11 Drop another couple, and then you need knockdowns.
17:15 Yeah, I think Jumbo was just saying there
17:19 just to work on the inside.
17:21 When you get on the inside, let your hands go.
17:24 He's got to do something, because this fight
17:26 is slowly getting away from him.
17:28 (INDISTINCT SHOUTING)
17:30 Again, he's looked for that left of the body, Champlin.
17:46 He's landed it solidly a number of times now.
17:50 Mikel did hit him with a good shot just before Isaac came back,
17:56 but Isaac coming back just takes the confidence away from Mikel.
18:00 Overhand left there from Lawal is an unorthodox shot,
18:05 but clipped the forehead there of Chamberlain.
18:10 You're going to have to hit him a lot cleaner
18:15 to do some damage on Isaac, talking from experience.
18:19 (INDISTINCT SHOUTING)
18:21 Nice straight right hand there from Lawal,
18:36 and that was a different look he gave Chamberlain there.
18:39 He threw the uppercut, stepped off to the side,
18:41 changed the angle, and then looked for the straight right.
18:43 Yeah, better work from Lawal. He's letting his hands go more.
18:46 He's not looking for the perfect shot.
18:49 He's just throwing more punches.
18:51 He's just edging closer and closer here, Lawal.
19:08 He's edging closer and closer, getting a little bit closer to Isaac,
19:11 which would be a concern if you're in Isaac's corner.
19:13 You don't want to let him, give him any confidence.
19:16 Reaching for that right to the body there, Lawal.
19:20 Didn't quite land it, but they both throw at the same time.
19:23 Yeah, didn't land it, but it's the right idea.
19:27 Straight right hand to the body,
19:28 try and maybe work the body of Isaac now.
19:32 That's a good left to the body again from Chamberlain,
19:40 right up above us. We can hear that one land full force.
19:43 That's Isaac's best shot he throws.
19:46 You were such a good listener, Thomas.
20:00 It makes me feel so special.
20:01 You are. You are special. If you don't mind, if you could just...
20:04 This makes me feel really special too,
20:06 because, you know, Discover's giving me cash back on debit, not just credit.
20:09 Actually, Discover gives cash back on debit to everyone.
20:12 Everybody? Everyone.
20:14 Bonnie, if you could just... What about Debbie Johns?
20:17 All those years that I couldn't find my bike, it was in her garage.
20:20 Like, she gets it.
20:21 If she has Discover cash back debit, then yeah.
20:24 Introducing Discover cash back debit,
20:26 a checking account with cash back for everyone.
20:28 [Music]
20:33 [Dogs barking]
20:36 Will you marry me?
20:41 [Scream]
20:42 We miss you so much.
20:45 We miss you.
20:46 [Dogs barking]
20:48 [Laughter]
20:49 [Dogs barking]
20:51 [Dogs barking]
20:54 [Music]
20:58 Five rounds in. This one gets really...
21:00 Corner! Ten seconds!
21:02 ...catch fire just yet, but some signs there from Matt in that fifth from Luau.
21:06 Yeah, well, that was a really good body shot from Chamberlain.
21:08 Round six.
21:10 There's still a round that he wants.
21:11 And again, the Chamberlain corner in between rounds, just telling him,
21:16 "Listen, you don't need to go crazy here.
21:20 Go back to what you were doing at the start of the fight.
21:23 You can win these rounds, boxing the way you are.
21:26 Put them in your pocket."
21:27 Luau just cannot let that happen.
21:30 He has to drag Chamberlain into the kind of fight that the corner do not want to see.
21:36 He started this round a lot better.
21:40 He's come out looking to land big.
21:42 Hasn't managed to, but it's more promising.
21:45 Good boy. Good one, now. Turn.
21:48 Stand back. Stand back. Stand back.
21:52 Shake! Shake!
21:54 Shake!
21:56 Oh, good shot.
21:59 Nice straight right hand there from Luau.
22:01 Stepped in, threw it down the pipe, and landed clean on Chamberlain,
22:06 who took it well, but that will give Luau a lot of encouragement.
22:10 Yeah, definitely. He did take it well.
22:12 He was moving away from the shot when it did land,
22:14 so the power of the sting had kind of gone out of it,
22:16 but it will give Luau confidence.
22:20 Come forward, let your hands go, get the jab going, straight shots.
22:24 Oh, Luau's legs went there.
22:34 Chamberlain just doubling up on the left hook,
22:36 there it goes down to the body, and then into the head.
22:39 Get in!
22:41 Multi!
22:47 Shake! Shake!
22:50 That's a jab in the hip there. Turn!
22:55 Luau definitely fell that shot there.
22:57 Just a little bit stunned, but he's recovered well.
22:59 He's looking to land himself now.
23:01 Not too far away from the halfway mark here.
23:07 Team Chamberlain will be very happy with the way things have gone so far,
23:12 but as we remarked earlier on, Luau is not showing any signs of panic
23:16 in or at the corner, looking for that big overhang right there, Luau.
23:20 Right cross from Luau, just got a piece of Chamberlain
23:35 as he was stepping away to his right across the ropes.
23:38 Luau is trying to keep the faith here that bit by bit
23:45 he's getting closer and more dangerous.
23:49 Get in! Get in!
23:52 Get in again!
23:54 Get in!
23:56 Get in!
23:58 Get in!
24:00 Get in!
24:02 Get in again!
24:04 Get in again!
24:06 Get in again!
24:08 Get in again!
24:10 Good combination there from Chamberlain again,
24:12 although Luau tucked up pretty effectively.
24:14 Let's go down ringside, Andy Scott is with Anthony Yard.
24:18 He can box and he can sing, Anthony Yard, how are you doing?
24:21 How are you seeing this one so far?
24:23 I think we're all waiting for the Luau assault, but it hasn't come yet.
24:26 Because as Chamberlain's boxing beautifully, the way he started,
24:29 the way he come out, he established his jab, established the body jab,
24:32 and I think he's just controlling the fight right now easily.
24:35 If you go into that Luau corner, what can you say to change the flow?
24:39 You have to apply the pressure.
24:41 It's clear that the punching power of Chamberlain is not really affecting Luau,
24:45 but he's just gathering up the points.
24:47 If I was in Luau's corner, I would say you need to apply pressure,
24:50 you can't be just backing off and letting them come and pushing you back.
24:53 There's 1,500 people here with camera phones,
24:55 I've seen a great shot of you and Joshua Bwatsy having a chat,
24:57 can you tell me what it was about?
24:59 It's just the same business as usual.
25:01 Corner, 10 seconds.
25:03 I'm sure he's obviously upset that he ain't fighting tonight,
25:05 and yeah, to the future.
25:07 Good to see you, Anthony, enjoy it.
25:09 We're here supporting boxing.
25:13 So into the second half of this one, scheduled for 12,
25:16 Mikel Luau defending his Lonsdale belt in the Cruiserweight division.
25:20 They can come and well on the line as well,
25:23 and the way we're seeing it is exactly the way you're seeing it there.
25:26 Isaac Chamberlain is six rounds to the good here.
25:29 There's six left, that is a long time,
25:33 but he's got a lot to do here, Mikel Luau.
25:36 If he doesn't start to win some rounds, then before we know it,
25:40 he'll be into the territory where he doesn't just need knockdowns,
25:43 realistically he will need a knockout.
25:45 [INAUDIBLE]
25:49 [INAUDIBLE]
25:53 [INAUDIBLE]
26:19 There's that jab again into the body, and just switches it up to the head.
26:22 That's done the heavy lifting for Isaac Chamberlain in this fight.
26:25 It's such a basic tool, but any fighter, any trainer will tell you
26:29 just how important it is,
26:32 particularly in rounds where seemingly not that much is happening.
26:36 And that's been the case for a number of these,
26:41 but you have to give Chamberlain credit for that.
26:44 He hasn't really allowed Luau into the kind of territory
26:48 that he wants to be occupying.
26:51 Chamberlain has bossed it, he's dictated all the terms,
26:54 he's controlled the pace, the range of what the fight is for.
26:57 He's winning comfortably here.
27:00 I think Luau's trying to time the jab, but Johnny said
27:07 he's probably going to have to anticipate the jab as opposed to timing it.
27:11 Just when he thinks it's coming, then throw with him.
27:14 He doesn't have the speed to go with Chamberlain.
27:17 Nice left hand on the inside for Luau, followed by a right.
27:20 You can see the sweat spray off the head there of Chamberlain,
27:24 but he's got good whiskers, as we know.
27:27 Luau trying to work on the inside into the final minute of round 7,
27:32 and again Isaac Chamberlain is winning this round.
27:35 Isaac's just chipping away with these little shots,
27:38 and they're just nicking around.
27:40 Mikel's trying to throw, but he's looking for the perfect shot all the time.
27:42 He's looking for one big one, he's not putting his shots together very well.
27:46 Right hander on three!
27:48 Right on the back of the knee!
27:50 Shake!
27:52 It's on balance, I think.
27:54 No shot!
27:56 Again, just doubling up with the jab there, Chamberlain.
27:59 Always keeps it moving.
28:01 He's in the straight!
28:04 He's in!
28:06 Get down, fighter!
28:08 Leaps in to that lead left hook there, Luau.
28:11 And then Chamberlain digs his toes and sets his feet,
28:15 and finishes the round strong as well.
28:18 With seven rounds in here, Mikel Luau the defending British champion,
28:22 as I said, Chris, it's been a long and winding road to that title for him.
28:26 At what point, if you're in that corner, do you say to him,
28:29 "Listen, we've got to start doing more"?
28:33 Now, you know, for me, he's seven rounds down.
28:35 He's seven rounds down.
28:37 He's got five rounds to turn this around,
28:39 and he's got to start putting it in.
28:41 He's got to start throwing, you know, just letting his hands go
28:44 and not looking for that perfect shot.
28:46 And Matt, what you don't want, what you never, ever want in any fight,
28:49 but certainly not in a fight like this,
28:51 where you're defending that famous old belt,
28:53 is you don't want regret.
28:55 You don't want to leave there at the end of the night
28:57 feeling, knowing that you could have done more.
28:59 No, I agree with Chris.
29:01 He's not going to catch Chamberlain with the perfect shot.
29:04 He's overthinking, he's waiting too long.
29:06 He's just got to let his hands go.
29:08 You know, but so far, it's been all Chamberlain.
29:11 There's still five rounds to go.
29:16 Lawal offered a glove there to Chamberlain at the start of the round,
29:18 and he was all business.
29:20 Again, just pushed out that left hand.
29:23 Fake with the front foot, double fake there from Chamberlain.
29:26 Drops his knees, and with it, the level of his head,
29:30 and tries to jab to the body,
29:33 and that's what he's been doing all the way to the end of the round.
29:37 He's been doing all the way through the fight.
29:40 Going up and down, turning around that front foot.
29:45 And as Matt said previously, he's setting the tempo here,
29:49 and when you're the one setting the tempo,
29:51 whether it's quick, whether it's moderate,
29:54 whether it's slow,
29:56 then you feel like you can do it all night.
30:05 Isaac's making this an attritional fight.
30:08 He's really trying to force the pace,
30:10 and making this an attritional fight.
30:12 Lawal here is having to throw,
30:14 because he knows the fight's getting away from him.
30:16 He's having to let his hands go, and it's better for him.
30:19 Uppercut on the inside there from Chamberlain.
30:32 He's just got to keep switched on here.
30:35 I'm sure that's what the corner will be telling him.
30:37 Concentrate.
30:39 Keep doing what you're doing.
30:41 Win these rounds.
30:42 You don't need a grandstand finish.
30:44 You don't need a knockdown.
30:45 Right hand there from Lawal.
30:47 He let that one fly, but Chamberlain, moving up to his left,
30:50 managed to avoid it.
30:51 I think it might have just caught him, but I think...
30:53 I think he glanced it.
30:54 I think he's very clever at seeing it at the end of the shot.
30:56 Yeah, I think you're right.
30:57 He glanced in.
30:58 There was contact, but I think it was at the end,
31:00 or it was at the end of the punch.
31:02 Chamberlain's square in front of Lawal,
31:06 which is not where his training team will want him to stay.
31:10 Lawal managing to find an angle for a right hand on the inside there.
31:14 Chamberlain gets right up close there,
31:17 hems him in on the ropes.
31:19 It's better for Lawal, though.
31:22 He's getting close, and he's working.
31:23 He's not just looking.
31:24 Look, he's just chipping away,
31:25 and that's all he's going to have to do
31:26 to have any chance of winning this fight.
31:29 Chamberlain has used up quite a lot of energy.
31:31 You know, he has, and Lawal hasn't,
31:33 just because he hasn't really had the chance to.
31:35 But, yeah, I think, you know,
31:38 Chamberlain's just got to keep his shape here,
31:40 keep his composure,
31:41 and get back on the jab and get a bit of distance.
31:45 Good uppercut there from Chamberlain.
31:47 Landed a couple on the inside.
31:49 Lawal, though, keeping that chin down,
31:51 is looking to just step in,
31:54 take that space, come forward.
31:58 Now I'm having flashbacks to my fight with Isaac.
32:00 In a phone box,
32:02 head on each other's chest.
32:04 A good shot.
32:08 Set his feet there, Chamberlain,
32:10 to look for that right hand over the top.
32:12 Well, there's that big right hand there,
32:24 he's moving away on your right,
32:25 it just caught him,
32:26 as he was moving off to that left-hand side.
32:28 It didn't land clean.
32:30 If it had,
32:31 then he'd have been in trouble, wouldn't he?
32:33 Because he was pulling out a bit high, as you say.
32:35 Yeah, but Isaac's very clever and cute
32:37 at just taking the sting out of shots like that.
32:39 He saw it right at the end,
32:40 and he just, if you look at it,
32:42 he just turned his head.
32:43 But, you know, this is the inside exchanges
32:45 that have been making it attritional.
32:47 Right hand, tight left hand again.
32:49 Now, I'm having flashbacks to my fight with Isaac.
32:52 Right hand, tight left hand again.
32:54 You catch him one more time,
32:55 you're gonna catch him.
32:56 Go outside, double up, then up.
32:59 Yeah, you need to start mixing your levels.
33:01 You need to put your too much together.
33:03 Seconds up, third down.
33:10 Just signs there, maybe,
33:11 in that last round we saw that
33:13 Lowell could be beginning to build
33:15 a little bit of a head of steam.
33:17 That might be slightly wishful thinking on my part,
33:20 but I just really want to see this one catch fire.
33:23 But he's come out throwing more aggressively
33:28 at the start of round nine.
33:30 We didn't get into the Chamberlain corner
33:33 in between rounds there,
33:35 but I wouldn't be surprised if, again,
33:37 Bobby Mills was telling Isaac,
33:39 "Listen, you don't need to stand with him,"
33:41 because he was at times there.
33:43 Yeah, absolutely, and this time he's come out
33:45 and started jabbing head and body again
33:47 like he was at the start,
33:48 so I imagine that's what the corner told him.
33:50 Round nine is new territory for Lowell.
34:05 He went into the eighth.
34:07 After eight, he stopped David Jamieson
34:09 to win that Lonsdale belt.
34:11 It looks like he's got a decent amount
34:14 left in the tank here,
34:15 and if the plan was to leave some gas
34:18 so he could put his foot down late on,
34:21 then now is the time.
34:24 Head up!
34:26 Come on, Isaac, get up!
34:30 Get on that!
34:31 To your right! To your right!
34:36 Right hander out!
34:40 To your right!
34:43 To your right!
34:49 Looking for the uppercut there,
34:51 Lowell trying to chop down with the right hand.
34:53 Meanwhile, he's landing some neat little shots
34:56 on the inside.
34:57 He's looking for something big here,
34:59 Mikel Lowell.
35:00 He is firing back more, Lowell.
35:02 He is more regularity now to the...
35:05 OK, he missed, but he's firing back more.
35:07 Isaac's using his experience here.
35:12 He's finishing the exchanges
35:13 just by chipping away at Lowell's body.
35:16 He just chips away.
35:17 Mikel will come back with a few shots,
35:19 and then Isaac will always finish the exchanges,
35:21 and that's just experience.
35:22 Chest to chest!
35:24 Chest to chest!
35:25 Step up, step up.
35:29 Step up!
35:30 Step up!
35:31 Step up!
35:32 Get on the side!
35:34 Head up!
35:36 Side!
35:37 That's another good body shot.
35:40 Just backed up, gave himself enough room
35:42 and slammed that left hand like a poker
35:46 into the stomach there of Lowell.
35:48 Come on, again!
35:49 Couple of clubbing shots on the inside there
35:54 from Lowell.
35:55 Chamberlain replies with a left.
35:58 That's what he keeps doing.
36:00 If he gets caught, he just fires back.
36:02 To his left and throws the right hand
36:06 over the top there, Chamberlain.
36:08 Ball!
36:09 Keep going!
36:11 [bell rings]
36:12 All right, just breathe.
36:22 Calm down, Dave, calm down.
36:25 Hold at the top.
36:26 And now, one more.
36:28 Hold at the top.
36:29 Turn the water, stay when you need it.
36:30 All right, listen.
36:31 He's running out of ideas now, Isaac.
36:33 All you've got to do is watch the right hand
36:36 when you're throwing.
36:37 Keep stepping to your right.
36:38 Listen, from the center of the ring, though, okay?
36:41 Edge, edge, jab, edge, right hand.
36:44 >> Oh, just straight shots there, not hooks.
36:46 Straight shots.
36:47 >> Keep it round.
36:48 >> That was so close.
36:49 Watch what the fight's coming back.
36:51 He's still dangerous.
36:52 Re-see?
36:53 >> Yeah.
36:54 >> You need to wake up now.
37:07 >> So now, round two.
37:10 >> Well, you heard the two corners.
37:12 This is simple.
37:13 If Isaac Chamberlain can avoid getting knocked out
37:20 in these final three rounds, then he's won the fight.
37:23 >> That was really good corner work there from Bobby Mills.
37:28 Kept him calm, got him to breathe,
37:30 and then just gave him some simple instructions.
37:32 Edge into his right, which he's doing now.
37:33 Staying away from the right hand, keep popping the jab,
37:35 and then just land the right hand when he sees it.
37:38 >> Yeah, I mean, there could be absolutely no doubt now
37:52 that LaWal needs a knockout.
37:54 >> I've got Isaac nine rounds up.
37:57 I've had him win him every round.
37:59 He's just done enough, even in the slightly closer rounds,
38:01 just to tip away.
38:04 >> Then he gets out of the way there.
38:05 >> I don't think you can score it any other way.
38:12 >> No, you can't.
38:14 You can't.
38:15 >> Good movement again there from Chamberlain.
38:23 Slides underneath that right hand.
38:29 Dipping very, very low there.
38:31 So in good condition to be able to do that at this stage of the fight.
38:36 That was a tremendously deep squat midway through round ten.
38:41 >> He's going to jab.
38:42 He's going to jab.
38:43 >> Yeah, that's it.
38:44 Quick.
38:45 Good jab.
38:46 >> Away to your right.
38:47 Set him up.
38:48 Away to your right.
38:49 >> He's got to go.
38:50 He's got to go.
38:51 >> Away to your right.
38:52 >> He's got to go.
38:53 >> Away to your right.
38:54 >> Come on, come on.
38:55 >> Come on, come on.
38:56 >> Come on, come on.
38:57 >> Come on, come on.
38:58 >> Come on, come on.
38:59 >> Come on, come on.
39:00 >> Come on, come on.
39:01 >> Come on, come on.
39:02 >> There goes that big scything right,
39:04 but it wasn't that close to landing.
39:08 >> Isaac's too clever for it.
39:10 Mikel's got to do what he was doing earlier on the round,
39:12 just look to land something.
39:13 He was just letting shots go.
39:14 He wasn't trying to land big.
39:16 That's a good chopping right hook though.
39:18 >> On the inside, he just found that route through for it,
39:26 but nothing that he has managed to land has drawn any kind of a reaction, really, from Chamberlain.
39:31 He pushes him off and lands a left up away to our right.
39:35 >> Shake, shake, shake.
39:38 >> Good body shot there from LaValle.
40:01 Just ripped out the middle.
40:03 >> Met Isaac.
40:05 >> He did, just as Chamberlain was moving on to it himself.
40:08 On a few seconds.
40:10 And he's boxed to order in that round, Isaac Chamberlain.
40:14 And finishes it exactly in his own corner.
40:18 John Peck just telling him, two more like that and we're there.
40:21 >> Go through, okay? Breathe.
40:23 Hold it at the top. Hold it at the top.
40:26 Right, listen. You just left that round a bit close.
40:28 Do you know why?
40:29 Because you're waiting a little bit too long to punch.
40:32 >> Okay.
40:34 My bicep is torn.
40:35 >> Huh? >> My bicep is torn.
40:38 >> Get moving on your jab.
40:40 Get moving on your jab.
40:41 The jab can beat him.
40:42 And Isaac, you're still throwing it, so it's good.
40:44 >> Yeah.
40:45 >> Isaac, two rounds.
40:46 You win this round, you've won the fight.
40:48 You can just move into that round.
40:49 Go ahead, pop your jab constantly.
40:51 Pop, pop, pop, move.
40:52 Pop, pop, pop, move.
40:53 Pop, pop, pop, move.
40:54 >> Listen to me.
40:55 Beat him with that fucking jab.
40:56 Just don't wait as long to throw it, because you're knocking him off balance.
40:59 >> Bury your jab.
41:00 Step to the right.
41:02 Fuck it, fuck it.
41:03 >> Fuck it.
41:04 >> Come on, Joe.
41:07 >> Suck it up.
41:08 >> Jab.
41:09 >> A little bit of language seeping through there from Bobby Mills,
41:12 but they're two rounds away from claiming the British and Commonwealth titles,
41:19 so it's understandable.
41:23 He's got a problem with his right bicep, maybe.
41:26 I think that's what he was saying.
41:27 I couldn't make it out completely,
41:30 but he doesn't really need that right hand, does he, Chris?
41:33 He just needs to keep throwing that left, snap that jab, keep turning him,
41:37 keep moving him.
41:39 >> Yeah, absolutely.
41:40 I think I heard him say right bicep is gone or torn.
41:44 I'm not sure what he said exactly, but he doesn't need it.
41:48 All he's got to do is keep jabbing and move.
41:52 He's still throwing that right uppercut, though.
41:54 Bicep can't be that bad.
41:56 [laughter]
41:57 [crowd noise]
42:03 >> He feels that he's torn it, that's what I'm told.
42:06 He'll have felt that happen, but the adrenaline at the moment will be masking the pain.
42:12 He knows that he is all but there.
42:14 [crowd noise]
42:15 >> Wow, trying to tuck up on the ropes and Chamberlain just letting his hands go.
42:19 >> You can see him pulling the right hand, though.
42:21 He's just throwing it to set up the left hook.
42:23 He's definitely not putting any sting in that right hand.
42:26 [crowd noise]
42:30 >> Well, it was in this ring that he dislocated his shoulder against Wally Camacho.
42:34 Seems like a long time ago now, and he managed to get through it that night.
42:39 [crowd noise]
42:41 >> Good work with the jab again to the chest, and then just nice and short down to the stomach.
42:46 [crowd noise]
42:49 >> And it's a strange performance this from Mikel Lawal.
42:52 You have to say, really, as a defending champion, it's okay if you feel you're going to come into the fight
43:00 in the second half of it, but you have to take something away from your opponent in that first half,
43:06 and that just never really happened.
43:10 And he's not made any impact at all on Isaac Chamberlain, if we're going to be honest about this, at any stage.
43:17 >> No, and he's obviously got the energy. He's just sort of bouncing around on his feet there.
43:22 He's just got to put his shots together and let him go.
43:25 He's doing better now. He's letting his hands go a little bit more, but it's just not enough.
43:29 [crowd noise]
43:35 >> I think he lacks the fundamental basic boxing technique.
43:38 You know, he didn't really have much of an amateur pedigree, and he hasn't really had the schooling,
43:43 and the speed and the movement of Isaac. He just hasn't really been able to get into the fight at all.
43:48 [crowd noise]
44:05 >> Just breathe. I know you can see everything, but listen to me now.
44:09 It's the 12th and final round.
44:11 >> And you're in front, though, coming up, boy.
44:13 He's going to come swinging. You know that, don't you?
44:15 >> He is desperate, do you understand? Because he knows he's behind Isaac.
44:19 Look at me. Look at me. He's desperate this round.
44:21 >> I'm going to back up.
44:22 >> Do not back up. Don't give him the confidence to back up.
44:25 So, stay tight.
44:26 >> Stay tight. Meet him one step.
44:29 Don't go flying back knowing you're in front on points, because it will give him something.
44:33 Isaac. Isaac.
44:37 >> You understand?
44:38 >> Yeah, I'll put it down more.
44:39 >> Push. Push. Push. Fight.
44:42 Up and down. Mix your levels.
44:44 Tighter right. Tighter punches.
44:46 Do you understand? Mix your levels.
44:49 [crowd noise]
44:53 >> He's got three minutes to hang on to his title here.
44:55 But come on, it's as simple as that.
44:57 He has got to find something extraordinary from somewhere to turn this around.
45:03 It can happen in boxing.
45:05 It's the only sport in which it can happen that you can be this far behind
45:11 and find that huge one moment that can turn the contest in your favor.
45:18 And that is what he needs.
45:21 >> He's definitely got the power to do it.
45:23 He's come out looking like he wants to here, but I've just got a feeling he's going to end up regretting
45:28 the first 11 rounds of not doing enough.
45:31 [crowd noise]
45:38 >> Trying to get the upper cut away as Chamberlain moves forwards there.
45:43 There wasn't quite room for it in the end.
45:45 He got smothered leading off with a left hook, but Chamberlain again moving in.
45:50 [crowd noise]
45:59 >> That huge platform Isaac Chamberlain against Lawrence Okoli at the 0-2.
46:03 Two young fighters in single figures undefeated went at it.
46:08 The build up was terrific on the night.
46:10 It just didn't happen for him at all.
46:12 It took some recovering from.
46:15 At one stage we kind of wondered what had happened to him.
46:17 Then he resurfaced in Bournemouth against our man Chris Billingsmith here.
46:22 Put in a terrific display, but again he didn't get the win.
46:26 Nobody wants to be that fighter who starts to get judged off their losses.
46:32 He came into this one desperately needing the W and those titles to prove to people
46:41 that he can go on and achieve what he thinks that he can.
46:44 He's so close to doing it now.
46:47 Just over a minute away.
46:49 [crowd noise]
46:52 >> He's doing really well here as he knows Mikel's power is coming over the top.
46:56 So he's just smothering him.
46:57 As soon as he sets he's just smothering the work.
46:59 He just walks, walks, smothers.
47:01 A night that Lowell can't get any work off.
47:04 >> Yeah, and then walking backward again to take his leverages away.
47:08 [crowd noise]
47:18 >> He was so frustrated when we saw him in Bournemouth.
47:22 >> Bournemouth body shots weren't high.
47:24 >> He just goes for a little walk now.
47:28 >> Yeah, and I agree.
47:29 I think that body shot definitely registered.
47:31 >> Trying to chop down with the right hand there, Lowell.
47:35 Who is running out of time.
47:37 The moment has arrived for him.
47:38 It has to be now.
47:41 >> Once again, clever from Isaac.
47:43 Just jabs, smothers, walks him back.
47:45 Wastes ten seconds.
47:46 There's ten seconds left.
47:48 [crowd noise]
47:57 >> About a few seconds.
47:59 Almost runs into the referee as the bell goes.
48:03 And he knows that in a few minutes time he will be announced
48:10 as the new British and Commonwealth bruiserweight champion.
48:17 And it is some feeling Anthony Young celebrating at ringside.
48:21 [crowd noise]
48:29 >> Well, that's how you scored it at home.
48:31 A shutout in favour of Isaac Chang.
48:34 It's difficult to see how you could have scored it any other way.
48:37 I wouldn't be amazed if our judges at ringside managed to find a round
48:41 possibly for Miguel Lowell.
48:44 Marks the double stereo connect to Lachlan.
48:47 The three wise men down at ringside.
48:50 The fight just never ignited.
48:52 It never got going in the way that this neutrals we hoped that it would.
48:56 But when that happens, rather than look at the man here and talk too much
49:02 about what he didn't do, Chris, you always have to give props to the winner
49:06 and concentrate on what he did do.
49:09 >> Yeah, he boxed superb from the off.
49:10 He set an early pace which Lowell probably didn't quite like.
49:15 And it just paid off.
49:17 And I think that just took a little bit out of Lowell.
49:19 He was just looking big.
49:20 And I think that goes to show how important the acid tests are.
49:24 And, you know, it's not about being unbeaten.
49:26 There's a guy there who's unbeaten and a guy there who's got two losses.
49:29 But he's been in some tough, tough tests.
49:31 And the experience shows that.
49:33 [ Indistinct conversations ]
49:37 >> Well, this is just as the final bell was going.
49:41 He knows he's there.
49:42 There are very, very few moments in boxing where you can do that,
49:46 where you know for sure that you are over that line.
49:50 Because, as I say, anything can change.
49:52 Anything can happen in the blink of an eye.
49:54 You can never, ever get complacent.
49:58 But that will be some feeling.
50:00 And, as I say, it's been a long time coming.
50:04 The ability's always been there.
50:09 He's proved his minerals.
50:12 But you want to be a winner.
50:16 And tonight that's exactly what he is.
50:19 [ Indistinct conversations ]
50:24 >> He'll be coming for you again now, Chris.
50:27 >> I've got business to attend to first.
50:29 But, yeah, for sure, it's great to see it.
50:32 You know, he's a father as well.
50:34 You know, he's got a young lad who I met the other week at the public workout.
50:38 And he gets to take those belts home to him.
50:40 And I know that's going to mean so, so much to him.
50:43 [ Indistinct conversations ]
50:56 >> Ladies and gentlemen, after 12 full championship rounds,
51:03 we go to the judges' scorecards for the official decision.
51:07 Judge Terry O'Connor sees it 119 to 111,
51:11 while judges Marcus McDonald and Victor Laughlin see it 118 to 111.
51:17 Declaring your winner by unanimous decision...
51:22 and the new British and Commonwealth Cruiserweight Champion...
51:35 Isaac "Icee" Chamberlain!
51:46 [ Indistinct conversations ]
51:54 >> It just means so much.
51:56 (audience laughing)
