00:00 Many Filipinos, including overseas Filipino workers, are afraid to start a business because they fear that it will not succeed.

00:08 But the reason why Carolyn Ong became an award-winning businesswoman is also a fear to start her skincare startup.

00:15 Actually, it's fear. Fear that brought me. Fear of regret.

00:21 Because you know, I've missed a lot of opportunities.

00:26 I've been thinking for years that I want to really do this.

00:30 Then I realized that if I try this and I fail, it's okay.

00:34 Because I will not regret it. And maybe I will learn a lot in the process.

00:39 But what should be done to not fail in business?

00:43 Pioneer Go! Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion told OFWs to think carefully about their business plans.

00:50 Just don't keep trying. Yes, I tried many times.

00:53 But you have to have the necessary skills to keep trying.

00:57 He added that not to use all the saved money in the business.

01:01 You allot a certain percent for that because it's a high risk.

01:05 I don't really encourage our OFWs to just send money and get somebody to start a business.

01:12 Maybe when it comes, her savings will be gone.

01:15 For the Kapwa Go! Negosyo Inspiring Balikbayan Award,

01:18 it should be made sure before embarking on any business.

01:22 You should know what you really want and learn it.

01:26 Because if you know all of those, every move of that business,

01:31 I'm pretty much sure that the business will be successful.

01:35 And for the Filipinos to learn, even if they are students or just starting in entrepreneurship,

01:40 there are programs in the Education Department and Go! Negosyo.

01:44 One of those is the mentoring event of Youthpreneur.

01:47 Of course, entrepreneurship is a skill that we want our learners to learn while being in basic education.

01:54 Let's give them good mentors.

01:58 In teaching entrepreneurship, you really have to get somebody not just knowing the textbook, an actual entrepreneur.
