00:00 So my film career has been spotty at best.
00:05 (laughter)
00:07 How's yours?
00:08 How dare you?
00:09 (laughter)
00:13 The highlight of this spotty film career was
00:15 when I got a call saying I had been cast
00:18 in a three-line part in the movie "There Will Be Blood"
00:22 opposite Daniel Day-Lewis.
00:24 (cheers and applause)
00:25 Sure.
00:27 Absolutely.
00:29 Everyone loves shoes.
00:31 (laughter)
00:34 I have matured sufficiently in the intervening years
00:38 that I am more excited than terrified to do this.
00:41 A little bit terrified.
00:43 Mostly excited.
00:45 So I get there, and I meet everybody,
00:49 and get a wardrobe and all this stuff.
00:51 It's very exciting, you know.
00:53 And so I get to the set, and there's Daniel Day-Lewis,
00:56 and he's sitting in a chair.
00:58 Now, I had heard that he was a little bit intense, right?
01:01 But he's not really.
01:03 He's really the most intense person that has ever lived
01:07 on Earth.
01:09 (laughter)
01:11 All he is doing is sitting in a chair,
01:14 and I am terrified of him!
01:17 (laughter)
01:20 It is like a jungle cat has wandered onto the set,
01:23 like, "Whoa, whoa, whoa!
01:25 "Uh, what do you do?
01:27 "Uh, are you supposed to move around a lot
01:29 or stay perfectly still?
01:31 "What are the rules of Daniel Day-Lewis?"
01:33 (laughter)
