00:00 Today on Royalee Us, we break down the biggest bombshells in the new book, Endgame, and reveal
00:04 how William really feels about it.
00:06 Plus, author Christopher Anderson reveals where William and Harry stand today.
00:10 I think the next shoe to drop will definitely be Megan's book.
00:16 She has a book to write.
00:17 And Princess Kate steps out in a rare tiara, while Princess Eugenie talks baby weight pressure
00:22 and how fast food is actually delivered to the palace.
00:25 We've got that plus so much more on today's Royalee Us.
00:28 Hey everyone, I'm Christina and that's Christine.
00:30 And welcome to, yes, another big week of Royale News.
00:33 At the range this week, from takeaway to huge bombshells to tiaras.
00:38 I mean, it's a big week.
00:40 We have it all and we're going to get right to it.
00:44 Starting with, like you said, the Princess of Wales, a rare tiara moment.
00:47 She attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace, part of the state visit hosting the
00:51 president of the Republic of Korea.
00:53 So she wore a tiara that she had never worn before, the Strathmore Rose Tiara.
00:58 So the floral headpiece had not been seen in nearly nine decades, since the 1930s, but
01:04 was part of the Queen Mother's collection.
01:06 And according to the court jeweler, the accessory's name comes from the Queen Mother's father,
01:10 who was the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorn, and was a wedding present when she married
01:16 Prince Albert.
01:17 Yeah, so this is a very, very rare tiara.
01:21 We haven't seen it since the 1930s, and we love a good tiara moment, especially something
01:26 that we haven't really seen before.
01:28 I mean, social media went wild.
01:30 This tiara was a firm favorite for Meghan when she got married.
01:33 We all thought that was when it was going to come out of the vault.
01:37 Then a lot of experts started questioning if it even existed anymore.
01:40 Was it dismantled?
01:41 Was it sold, maybe?
01:43 So to see it again, I mean, it was hugely, hugely exciting.
01:46 But the whole, we love a state banquet.
01:48 It's so glamorous.
01:49 It's very royal.
01:50 And the state visits in general, we talked a little bit last week, it's royals at their
01:54 finest.
01:55 And this one was so much fun.
01:56 We saw a special performance by the Coldstream Guards performing a Blackpink song, who were
02:03 also guests of honor during this state visit, sort of representing Korean culture.
02:08 I mean, I never thought that we would see a Mean Girls reference on the Royal Family
02:13 Twitter account while playing a Blackpink K-pop song.
02:17 But hey, anything can happen these days.
02:21 Here we are.
02:22 Who would have thought?
02:23 But you know, Kate has a wide range.
02:25 She can go from glamorous to, you know, just dressing down and helping out a lot of people.
02:32 And that's exactly what she's doing.
02:34 She put the finishing touches to a Santa's grotto during a point in visit to a charity
02:38 that helps children in need.
02:40 So the mom of three visited Sebi's Corner in Barnett in Northwest London, which is a
02:45 baby bank that provides a safety net for families in need of food and clothes across Barnett
02:51 and in London.
02:52 So working with the professionals such as midwives, health visitors, and teachers who
02:56 refer families to them, is aimed to reach some of the most vulnerable children, particularly
03:01 at a time of the year when families really need it the most.
03:05 You know, this is obviously something that is very important to her.
03:08 She brought a special gift to give families.
03:11 And I'm sure this was such a wonderful day for these children.
03:13 Yeah, this was, you know, the Prince of Wales is working really closely with baby banks
03:17 lately, which is these baby banks run solely on donations, both from individuals, but also
03:22 from larger organizations.
03:23 You know, the Prince of Wales in the past has organized large donations from some major,
03:29 major retailers throughout the UK to support these baby banks.
03:33 And especially this time of year, you know, they do provide sort of basic, you know, basic
03:39 need items such as, you know, toiletries, clothing, diapers, but also, you know, at
03:44 Christmas time, you want presents, you know, and you want sort of fun things.
03:48 And so the Prince of Wales was there to sort of meet with organizers, talk more about the
03:52 projects that are supported by this baby bank and the people who support baby banks throughout
03:59 the area, and kind of to spread Christmas cheer, sort of starting that festive season
04:04 off early.
04:05 I love that.
04:06 And I love that she brought, I think it was 50 copies of her kids' favorite book.
04:11 So she was able to share that with the families as well.
04:13 So that was a really nice moment.
04:15 All right, well, moving on to my favorite story of the week.
04:17 So according to Princess Eugenie, ordering takeout food isn't an easy process for the
04:22 family, especially when they're staying at Kensington Palace.
04:25 I didn't think it would be, but on the Table Manners podcast, she said, "So last night
04:29 we got a curry, which I never do.
04:31 I never eat them.
04:32 My husband Jack and I were literally sitting for an hour on Deliveroo.
04:38 Like what on earth does this mean?"
04:40 So after placing their order on the British delivery app, the couple had to ring down
04:45 to palace workers to alert them that food was on the way.
04:48 She said, "And then we'll get in our pajamas and drive down and go pick it up."
04:52 The revelation took the podcast host by surprise as they questioned why the pair had to drive
04:56 on the property to pick it up instead of having someone bring it to them.
04:59 She said, "We could walk, but I don't want to be in my pajamas outside."
05:03 I love this.
05:04 This is just so...
05:05 I love always getting those tidbits of what it's really like behind closed doors.
05:08 This whole podcast episode was so fun to listen to.
05:12 It's definitely a must-listen.
05:13 But yeah, I mean, imagining the...
05:17 How different it must be and what you have to do just to order takeaway, just to order
05:21 food delivered.
05:22 We order pizza and it comes to the door, but they sort of have to have it go to the gate
05:26 because they're not just going to let the delivery driver through the gate to Buckingham
05:30 Palace.
05:31 So you have to go pick it up.
05:34 It's so much fun to listen to this episode.
05:35 But yeah, it really makes you think maybe the royals aren't quite like us.
05:39 No, definitely not.
05:41 They might want to try to pretend that they are, but they're definitely not.
05:44 We're going to talk more about this podcast in a little bit, but first let's spill some
05:48 royal news.
05:50 We have to talk about what everybody is talking about, and that is Omid Scobie's new book,
05:54 Endgame.
05:55 It's been released and there are a ton of bombshells in the book that we need to get
05:59 to.
06:00 Let's start with Queen Camilla.
06:01 Apparently, she quietly thanked Piers Morgan for calling Meghan Markle a "Pinocchio princess."
06:07 So following her reveal that she struggled with suicidal ideation, Piers Morgan said
06:11 on Good Morning Britain that he wouldn't believe Meghan if she read me a weather report.
06:16 So according to Omid, Camilla sent a message to Piers Morgan to thank him for defending
06:20 the firm.
06:21 A palace aide subsequently told royal expert, told Omid that Camilla would never publicly
06:27 address the matter or speak ill of others.
06:32 I don't know if I really believe this, but I don't know.
06:36 It seems like such, it seems like something that could so easily be leaked publicly that
06:41 I find it hard to believe that Queen Camilla would do something.
06:47 So it seems like a rookie mistake that I just find hard to believe.
06:51 But we have a lot more to get through.
06:54 So let's, what's the next claim in the book, Christina?
06:58 Okay, so the next claim is that Princess Kate has an apparent visceral reaction to hearing
07:05 Meghan Markle's name.
07:06 So Kate has jokingly shivered upon hearing Meghan's name.
07:10 And Omid also notes that Kate and Meghan have had almost zero direct communication since
07:15 2019.
07:16 However, they shared some short pleasantries over the years.
07:20 According to the book, there's no reconciliation on the horizon when it comes to things between
07:23 Kate and Meghan.
07:24 The Princess of Wales also has no desire to mend her relationship with Prince Harry either.
07:30 That's not, I feel like a lot of the, a lot of the takeaways of those books so far are
07:33 things that we've kind of already heard, just repurposed.
07:37 It seems like things that we already sort of knew or things that you could easily assume.
07:43 I mean, I've said for a long time, Kate and Meghan were sisters-in-law, you know, they
07:48 were married to brothers and those relationships aren't always really friendly.
07:52 They don't always work out.
07:55 And there's no real need for them to stay friends in the current situation that they're
07:59 in.
08:00 So again, this is just sort of, if we haven't heard it all before, you can kind of, it's
08:04 sort of like, well, yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
08:06 Yeah.
08:07 I mean, it is sad that, you know, Kate and Harry were very close at one point in time.
08:13 That relationship, you would like to see maybe them mend, but we've, I mean, we talk about
08:18 it day in and day out or week in and week out on this show.
08:21 It doesn't seem like this is going to come together anytime soon.
08:25 So I mean, let's let it rest.
08:28 Although Omid says that Meghan and Harry didn't have anything to do with the book and aren't
08:32 directly connected with the book, we can sort of assume this is the closest thing to hearing
08:36 from them, but we'll never hear both sides of the story.
08:40 We're never going to hear from the royal side, from William and Kate's side.
08:43 And so a lot of this, again, we say it almost every week, I guess we'll never, you know,
08:47 will we ever find out how this ends?
08:50 No, it's so true.
08:52 But let's, let's talk a little bit more.
08:55 As we know, like we said, Prince William's struggles with Prince Harry are nothing new,
09:00 but in the book, there's also claims that the Prince of Wales isn't on the same page
09:04 as King Charles.
09:05 This was kind of interesting.
09:06 So, um, in an interview with London's, the Times published this part of the book and
09:12 they say that William is in air mode, which furthers the divide between himself and his
09:17 father said William knows his father's reign is only transitional and is acting accordingly
09:23 throughout, throughout the first year of Charles's reign.
09:27 Omid claims that the two have grown further apart.
09:29 He said it would have been nice to see them come together on certain projects, perhaps
09:33 in the early years to put on that united front, but they're all working in silos.
09:40 This seems interesting because a lot of the Royal experts that we've talked to say that
09:44 William and Charles seem kind of closer than ever.
09:47 Um, I mean, based on what we see in public, it doesn't really seem like there's this great
09:51 divide, but maybe behind closed doors there is, and that William, I mean, William is taking
09:56 this job seriously.
09:57 He will one day be King and maybe this is a transitional period.
10:00 I think that it's William will be King a lot sooner that, you know, William will not be
10:04 Prince of Wales as long as King Charles was Prince of Wales.
10:07 That is just biological historical fact.
10:10 There's just no way.
10:12 And so he probably is treating his time as Prince of Wales much differently than his
10:16 father, you know, who had the luxury of time.
10:19 He was very young when he became Prince of Wales.
10:21 I mean, extremely young, had a long time to sit in that role.
10:24 Whereas Prince William has less time to sit in that role and wants to make a bigger impact
10:29 while he can.
10:30 And you're completely correct.
10:31 We've heard a lot of how they're closer than ever.
10:34 William, I mean, you know, we saw it at the coronation, how emotional was it when William
10:38 sweared his allegiance and King Charles, you know, was sort of saying kind things to him.
10:43 I was welling up.
10:44 It was very emotional.
10:46 So clearly maybe the relationship probably has changed.
10:50 I can't imagine, you know, I imagine it has, but I don't know if it's, I find it hard to
10:53 believe that it's further apart than ever.
10:56 Right.
10:57 No, totally.
10:58 I mean, I think back to Harry and William, that seems to be further apart than ever.
11:03 And it seems like everything kind of split wide open after Harry exposed his problems
11:07 with the family in that CBS tell all interview back in 2021.
11:12 They said once Harry went public with his grievances against the family and the institution
11:16 in his and wife, Megan's interview, the rifts between him and William expanded.
11:21 They also say that in Harry and Megan's 2022 Netflix documentary and the spare, it just
11:27 added fuel to the fire.
11:29 I'm sure this will as well.
11:31 It also claims in the book that William believes Harry and Megan blindsided the family, but
11:35 their public comments about the institution.
11:36 And he further alleged that William detailed his brother and sister-in-law's also California
11:41 self-importance to various friends and aides over the past couple of years.
11:46 He also alleges that a source told him that William is convinced that Harry has been brainwashed
11:52 by an army of therapists, and therefore, William says he no longer even recognizes his younger
11:58 siblings.
11:59 He also revealed that he saw his brother's friction firsthand in 2019 after covering
12:04 the royal family for years and that the growing strains on his working relationship with Kensington
12:09 Palace has 2022 approached after covering Harry and Megan's October 2019 Southern African
12:16 trip.
12:17 Oman alleged that one of William's aides told him that he felt uncomfortable with his relationship
12:21 with the Sussex team.
12:23 Well, I mean, a lot of people have been questioning his relationship with the Sussex team for
12:27 quite some time since it's very favorable to them.
12:30 And you know, and there was also those questions going around on his previous book that they
12:36 were the source.
12:37 Yeah, a lot of this, you know, a lot of these claims, a lot of these statements feel unsurprising.
12:42 I suppose a lot of us, I'm sure sitting there like you said, well, a lot of us are feeling
12:47 a bit uncomfortable about that relationship between the Sussexes and Omid.
12:51 I'm sure that someone else on the palace team would have pointed it out.
12:55 So a lot of this feels either we've heard it before, or well, yes, that seems like the
13:00 natural consequence of what's unfolded these last few years.
13:04 It was interesting in the book, he says that that the final blow for Harry and Megan was
13:10 Prince Andrew getting Frogmore Cottage.
13:14 So it seems like that was maybe like the nail in the coffin for them.
13:17 And then they were kind of...
13:18 Which is funny because I think he's still living in Royal Lodge.
13:24 I think so too.
13:25 Yeah.
13:26 And then Insider, so, you know, Insider did reach out to us weekly about how William feels
13:32 about the book.
13:33 And we hear that he considers the book to be a spiteful portrayal of the monarchy.
13:36 But the last thing he wants is to help publicize a litany of false and cruel narratives.
13:42 And it's like, when are these narratives?
13:44 I mean, the narratives are never going to stop, it seems like.
13:47 And we spoke to Christopher last week.
13:48 He'll talk about it in a second, about how Megan might be the next one to write a book.
13:53 So it just feels like this hamster wheel is forever turning.
13:55 Yeah.
13:56 And it does feel like what is the end goal here?
13:59 Because the record has allegedly been set straight from Finding Freedom, the Netflix
14:03 documentary Spare.
14:05 What is the end goal of this book?
14:06 Because it does, it just got some of these stories and some of these experts, they just
14:09 feel kind of nasty and just unnecessary to sort of air in the public.
14:15 You know, it just it doesn't feel nice.
14:17 All of this, someone told me it just feels icky.
14:19 You know, it does.
14:20 It's not a nice narrative.
14:23 And it just feels like putting a lot of negativity into into this bad juju.
14:28 It is.
14:29 Yeah, it's like a bad soap opera at this point.
14:33 Like, we're kind of done with it.
14:35 All right, well, let's break down the royal rules with our friend Christopher Anderson.
14:38 We're going to revisit more of our interview that we had with him last week.
14:41 And he tells us what he thinks about Harry and William's relationship and what may happen
14:45 going forward.
14:46 There's always maybe some talks like, you know, Harry and Charles may get back on track,
14:51 but it seems like maybe William and Harry, that might be a lost cause.
14:54 And we have Omin Scobie's book coming out in a few weeks.
14:57 And, you know, that seems to already be kind of painting the picture that Harry was left
15:02 in the dark about Queen Elizabeth's death.
15:04 So it seems like it's just going to keep getting the holes just going to keep getting bigger.
15:10 And then people I think it's kind of funny that only days before Harry and Meghan are
15:15 out in Las Vegas at the closing of the Katy Perry show, you know, Orlando Bloom at their
15:21 side.
15:22 I mean, I think they're living a different life now.
15:24 And you know, it's neither one is really making much of an effort to make things whole again,
15:32 I think, in terms of the royal family.
15:34 But Harry, I think the next shoe to drop will definitely be Meghan's book.
15:43 She has a book to write.
15:44 And so and I think she's inclined, has generally been inclined to say what she wishes to say
15:51 and be pretty forthright.
15:52 So we'll see what happens there.
15:53 Yeah.
15:54 So he's convinced Meghan may be the next one to write a book and oh, Lord, get ready for
15:59 that one if that happens.
16:00 And I ask what more is there to set straight?
16:02 We've had seriously, we've heard it all.
16:05 Like, this is the third book now and Megan adds the fourth.
16:09 How much more can we reveal?
16:12 There's got to be some but you know what, we will read it and we will be fascinated
16:15 by it and we'll be talking about it.
16:17 All right, well, let's wrap it up with our pint sized palace.
16:20 And like we said, we're going to revisit more from Princess Eugenie's podcast interview.
16:25 And she says that society's obsession with post baby weight may made her go mad, especially
16:30 after welcoming her second baby earlier this year.
16:33 She said on the table manners podcast, I find it really hard to shake baby weight.
16:36 I guess society dictates that you have to shake your baby weight and all that stuff.
16:40 She and her husband, Jack share two sons together and they welcome their elder son August in
16:46 February of 2021 and their second child Ernest this past May.
16:50 So months after giving birth, she admitted she's gluten and dairy free.
16:53 However, her diet isn't just to help shed the post baby weight.
16:56 It's also to support her husband.
16:58 She said Jack gets really bad migraines, so he's gluten and dairy free.
17:02 And she explained that a gut specialist recommended their diet and she said that she's doing it
17:06 with him.
17:07 But it's so true.
17:08 Society does put a lot of pressure to shake that baby weight months after you give birth.
17:13 And realistically, it takes a very long time.
17:15 It does.
17:16 And I'm so glad she sort of she said this, she's put it out there.
17:19 I mean, she's she's literally a princess.
17:22 She has quite a lot of resources at her disposal and it can still be really tough.
17:27 I think it's unfair that every time she's on a red carpet, she's with someone else that
17:31 it's really easy to compare, you know, make those really sort of unkind comparisons between
17:35 women.
17:36 She looks beautiful.
17:37 Her children and her family are beautiful.
17:39 And I hope that she really enjoyed that takeaway.
17:44 I hope so, too.
17:45 It was so good.
17:48 And it was well worth a listen.
17:51 I love it so much.
17:52 All right.
17:53 Well, that is it for this week's episode of Royale-y Us.
