00:00 Now in the year that we mark the coronation of King Charles III, we're honoured to pay tribute
00:05 to her late majesty Queen Elizabeth II by naming Platinum House in her memory. Platinum House will
00:11 serve as a reminder to us all of our late Queen's remarkable public service over 70 years and the
00:17 state-of-the-art training centre and the new fire station portion will ensure that West Sussex's
00:22 firefighters continue to have the skills and knowledge to keep residents safe for years to come.
00:29 My Lord Lieutenant High Sheriff, distinguished guests, thank you for joining us here today to
00:34 mark this opening ceremony. There are so many people who've been involved in this journey over
00:39 the last few years and I'd like to share with you now just a small insight into the journey we've
00:43 all been on together to reach this point today.
00:46 The whole idea of this building is to produce the best firefighters of West Sussex
00:53 who will provide their own service to the community.
00:58 It's a fantastic facility. It's five buildings. The first building is the main fire station itself
01:04 which is a mix between a live operational fire station and then also a training facility.
01:11 It's stunning to think that such a building has taken shape in such a short period of time
01:16 and was able to deliver for us. Absolutely fantastic.

01:28 It's been a long road to get here as with any major project but we've enjoyed incredible support
01:34 from West Sussex County Council and the members have really understood what we're trying to do
01:38 here with this new facility and have expressed great support for our firefighters.
