Courts urged to consider fewer jail terms in favour of rehabilitation orders

The Sentencing Council for England and Wales has urged courts to consider fewer short jail terms, and to instead primarily consider if a community order would actually be more effective at achieving rehabilitation for offenders. In light of this, we’ll take a look at the information we know so far.
