00:00 I made my family disappear.
00:03 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're catching up with the main cast members of the Christmas classic Home Alone.
00:09 Well, if the kid's there, the parent's gotta be.
00:11 He's home alone.
00:13 Number 10. Kieran Culkin
00:17 I don't want to sleep with Fuller. You know about him. He wets the bed.
00:20 It used to be a fun fact that Fuller, Kevin's cousin prone to bed-wetting, is Macaulay Culkin's real-life brother.
00:27 Now it's a fun fact that Fuller is played by Roman Roy.
00:31 Home Alone was the younger Culkin's first movie, which led to further supportive roles throughout the 90s, like the Father of the Bride series.
00:39 He's made more of a name for himself in recent years, starring in films like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
00:44 Hey, Jimmy. Do they rock or suck?
00:48 They have not started playing yet.
00:51 That was a test, Jimmy.
00:53 One, two.
00:54 You passed.
00:55 However, he's also shined in HBO's succession as the immature yet lovable Roman Roy, which earned him a ton of recognition and award nominations.
01:05 But he said that to be nice.
01:07 What I think he meant to say was that he wished that mom gave birth to a can opener because at least then it would be useful.
01:13 He also reprised his role of Wallace Wells in Netflix's Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
01:18 I didn't care the first time you told me. I care even less now.
01:22 Number 9. Robert Blossom
01:24 By the time he played old man Marley in Home Alone, poet Robert Blossom's already had a well-established film career.
01:31 Yet his portrayal of the lonely neighbor played a big part in the film's core message.
01:36 Deep down, you always love them.
01:39 But you forget that you love them.
01:41 And you can hurt them and they can hurt you.
01:43 That's not just because you're young.
01:45 He followed the family film up with roles in Doc Hollywood and The Quick and the Dead.
01:50 Sadly, Sam Raimi's Western would mark his last big screen appearance.
01:55 After a few TV roles, he retired in the late 90s to focus on his poetry.
02:00 He passed away in 2011 from cerebrovascular disease at the age of 87.
02:05 Although he put out plenty of other works, appearing in a timeless holiday classic meant he'd be part of our lives for many more years to come.
02:13 [Music]
02:23 Number 8. Michael C. Morona
02:26 Among the many other child actors in Home Alone was Michael C. Morona.
02:31 He played Jeff McAllister, the nicer of Kevin's older brothers.
02:35 Which actually isn't saying much.
02:37 Kevin, you're such a disease.
02:39 In addition to the 1992 sequel, Morona hit it big in the 90s when he landed the lead role in Nickelodeon's The Adventures of Pete and Pete.
02:47 But what none of them realized was that they were playing right into the razor sharp claws of the international adult conspiracy.
02:54 Although he'd appear in a couple of comedies in the 2000s, such as 2002's Slackers, he'd find his true passion behind the camera.
03:02 He's worked as an electrician on multiple film and TV sets, such as Apple TV's Dickinson series and Netflix's Marvel shows like Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.
03:12 In 2013, he also began hosting a podcast with Pete and Pete co-star Danny Tamberelli called The Adventures of Danny and Mike.
03:21 Pete, I can't take this anymore. You've got to call it off.
03:24 No can do, comrade.
03:26 Number 7. Devin Rattray
03:29 As Kevin's meaner older brother Buzz, Devin Rattray got to deliver some hilariously brutal put-downs.
03:36 Don't you know how to knock, phlegmwad?
03:38 Many of us can relate to being tormented by older siblings, and Rattray's Buzz is definitely a character we love to hate.
03:45 Although his home alone role is perhaps his most well-known, Rattray has appeared in many films.
03:50 The 2010 saw him put out a lot of work, like 2013's Oscar-nominated Nebraska, 2016's ensemble comedy Masterminds, and 2019's crime drama Hustlers.
04:03 Your penmanship is really remarkable.
04:06 He also appeared on the small screen in everything from Amazon Prime's The Tick to Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul.
04:13 While the majority of his roles have been small, he returned to his most famous one in 2021's Home Sweet Home Alone on Disney+.
04:21 When I was a kid, my family went on vacation. We forgot my little brother Kevin.
04:28 Since his nostalgic appearance in that role, Rattray unfortunately made headlines for being accused of serious domestic crimes.
04:36 Former actor also not talking after a judge decided there was enough evidence to send the case to trial.
04:42 Canadian comedian John Candy is a legend, and little of that legacy has to do with his appearance in Home Alone.
04:51 Candy plays Gus Polinski, a polka musician who helps Kate McAllister get home to her son.
04:57 No. But I did leave one at a funeral parlor once. Yeah, it was terrible too.
05:05 The role saw him re-team with Home Alone writer John Hughes, who had directed Candy in 1988's Uncle Buck.
05:11 Take this quarter. Go downtown and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face.
05:17 But he had starred in plenty of other comedies prior. Following Home Alone, he appeared in movies like JFK and Disney's Cool Runnings.
05:25 Sadly, Candy died of a heart attack in 1994 at the relatively young age of 43.
05:32 He remains a beloved comedic actor to this day, and Home Alone is only a small piece of the joy he brought to many.
05:39 You'd give me a ride? Sure we will. Why not? You know, you gotta get home and see your kids.
05:43 A ride to Chicago? Sure, you know, it's Christmas time.
05:46 Unfortunately, there are several Home Alone cast members that are no longer with us.
05:53 John Heard played Kevin's absent-minded father, Peter, in the first two films.
05:58 Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he would mostly appear in dramas like 1993's The Pelican Brief and 2000's biographical art piece Pollock.
06:07 There is a smile of love and there is a smile of deceit. I'm out.
06:11 But he'd occasionally show he could still flex his comedic chops with movies like 2004's White Chicks.
06:17 What do you mean broke? Like Martha Stewart broke? Or MC Hammer broke?
06:22 MC Hammer broke!
06:25 His work began to slow in the 2010s. Heard mostly stuck to TV guest appearances and supportive roles in smaller films,
06:32 like 2018's The Tale, one of a handful of posthumous releases.
06:37 He passed away in 2017 from cardiac arrest due to heart disease.
06:42 No kidding. What a funny guy. What else did you do while we were away?
06:49 Just hung around.
06:52 As Kate McAllister, Catherine O'Hara delights as the fierce mother trying to get home to her son.
07:00 I'm desperate. I'm begging you from a mother to a mother, please.
07:05 She was already a comedic talent by the time the film released, and she hasn't slowed down since.
07:11 She has starred in multiple mockumentaries from director Christopher Guest and voiced characters in popular animated flicks like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie.
07:20 When you lose someone you love, they never really leave you. They just move into a special place in your heart.
07:27 However, it's her role as Moira Rose on Schitt's Creek that has brought her legions of new admirers.
07:34 In addition to being hilarious, it also rightfully earned her a Golden Globe and an Emmy.
07:39 You just, that's what you do. You just fold it in.
07:42 OK, I don't know how to fold broken cheese like that.
07:45 I don't know how to be any clearer. You take that thing that's in your hand and you...
07:49 If you say fold in one more time...
07:52 It says fold it in!
07:54 Next, she'll star in Universal's Argyle from director Matthew Vaughn and reprise her role as Delia in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice 2.
08:02 A little gasoline, blowtorch, no problem.
08:06 Number three, Daniel Stern.
08:09 All the great ones leave their mark. We're the wet bandits.
08:13 As one half of the wet bandits, Daniel Stern brings most of the comedy in Home Alone.
08:18 His clueless nature and shrill screams never fail to get laughs.
08:22 [Screaming]
08:27 Marv is certainly the actor's most well-known role,
08:30 but he still appeared in a string of comedies in the 90s, like the City Slickers series and 1998's Very Bad Things.
08:37 Stern's output would so in the 2000s, though he'd still make memorable appearances in movies like 2009's Whip It and the Netflix comedy Game Over Man.
08:47 I call her Tums because she relieves my heartburn.
08:50 On the small screen, he has mostly stuck to guest appearances, like in Hulu's Shrip,
08:55 but he joined the main cast of Apple TV's acclaimed For All Mankind during its fourth season.
09:01 Today, we take the next step towards a self-sustaining Mars colony.
09:08 Number two, Joe Pesci.
09:11 Don't worry about your home. It's in good hands.
09:15 While he was mostly known for dramatic roles at the time, casting Joe Pesci as Home Alone's main antagonist was a genius idea.
09:23 Pesci's engaging and angry delivery was a perfect fit for Harry and led to some of the movie's most iconic moments.
09:30 Now you're dead!
09:36 He only appeared in a few more movies, such as 1995's Casino, before announcing his retirement in 1999.
09:43 However, that announcement proved not to be permanent.
09:46 After a handful of small appearances, Pesci came back strong with 2019's The Irishman,
09:52 which saw him reunite with Martin Scorsese and earn his third Oscar nomination.
09:57 If they can whack a president, they can whack a president of a union.
10:03 You know it, and I know it.
10:06 These days, you can see him on Peacock's Bub Kiss, a comedy series co-written by and starring Saturday Night Live's Pete Davidson.
10:14 You're unhappy because all you do is try to make yourself happy.
10:19 You should try to make somebody else happy once in a while. Do something for somebody. Put a smile on their face.

10:40 Number 1. Macaulay Culkin
10:43 Having worked with him on Uncle Buck, John Hughes knew Macaulay Culkin would make a wonderful Kevin Macalester.
10:49 Needless to say, he was right.
10:52 You guys give up or you're thirsty for more?
10:57 The young actor is extremely charming in the role, which made him a hot commodity in the early 90s.
11:03 After starring in major movies like My Girl and Richie Rich, Culkin would step away from acting until 2003's completely different Party Monster.
11:12 Can't even stay awake for your own movie? Not that it's your movie. You think it's yours, but it's really mine. All mine.
11:19 Since then, he's only appeared sporadically in movies like 2004's Saved and 2019's Change Land.
11:26 On the TV front, it was great to see him pop up in HBO's The Righteous Gemstones and the 10th season of American Horror Story.
11:33 I love movies. They're my whole life.
11:37 No matter what he does next, we'll always enjoy spending the holidays with him.
11:42 Oh Kevin, I'm so sorry.
11:54 Is Home Alone one of your yearly holiday watches?
11:57 Keep the change, you filthy animal.
