00:00 [VIDEO PLAYBACK]
00:02 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:05 - Just when you think you know what a computer is,
00:09 you see a keyboard that can just get out of the way,
00:14 and a screen you can touch and even write on.
00:19 When you see a computer that can do all that,
00:24 it might just make you wonder, hey, what else can it do?
00:28 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:32 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:36 - Hi, Siri.
00:37 What's the party for?
00:38 - I just got a keyboard.
00:39 I'm a computer now, like you.
00:41 - So you have more power, like an Intel Core i7 processor?
00:45 - Like I said, I just got a keyboard.
00:49 - But you're running full office, not just the app
00:51 version, right?
00:52 - I don't like where this is going.
00:54 - And what about a trackpad and external ports?
00:57 - Maybe this party thing wasn't such a good idea.
01:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:03 - This kid's got great stuff.
01:08 - How many strikeouts this season?
01:10 - I got to switch apps.
01:12 Hold on.
01:12 - What's this kid's ERA?
01:14 - 173.
01:15 - How about against lefties?
01:16 - 288.
01:17 - What's going on?
01:17 I can hear you, but the video stopped.
01:19 - I just have to switch back.
01:20 - I think we got to pull the trigger on this kid.
01:22 - All right.
01:23 I'll go talk to his agent.
01:25 - Mo, how are we looking?
01:27 - I think he's in talks with another team.
01:29 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:32 - I am delighted we could share in the serenity and joy
01:39 of this beautiful day as we come together
01:41 to celebrate the commitment--
01:42 - Excuse me.
01:43 Would you mind moving your enormous phone?
01:46 - You mean the enormously awesome galaxy?
01:49 - Search one trick pony.
01:52 - Aren't you a little young to have an iPhone?
01:55 - You want to go?
01:56 - I see.
01:57 Copy bots.
01:58 - Auto-correct this.
01:59 [SLAP]
01:59 [GASPING]
02:01 - [CLEARS THROAT]
02:02 [BEEP]
02:04 [SCREAMING]
02:05 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:08 - Is there an app for that?
02:11 - Search karate.
02:14 Karate!
02:15 [SCREAMING]
02:17 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:19 - You think if they knew about the Nokia Lumia,
02:21 they'd stop fighting all the time?
02:23 - I don't know.
02:24 I think they kind of like fighting.
02:25 [SCREAMING]
02:27 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:29 - The Windows Phone Nokia Lumia 920.
02:32 Engadget's reader's choice smartphone of the year.
02:34 - Hi, I'm a Mac.
02:39 - And I'm a PC.
02:40 - Surprise you showed up alone.
02:41 No security guard to protect you from the angry mob
02:44 of Windows 8 users?
02:45 Don't need them anymore.
02:47 Windows 10 comes out today.
02:49 Did I miss 9, or is that in the grave already
02:51 with Clippy and the Zoom?
02:53 Good one, but you won't be laughing soon.
02:56 Windows 10 actually does a lot of stuff better than the Mac,
02:59 and in some places, feels more modern.
03:02 Didn't you say the same thing when Vista was released
03:05 and I think Windows ME?
03:06 I'll prove it to you.
03:08 Lots of people are happy that the Start button is back,
03:10 but the real game changer are the new tricks
03:13 to manage multiple windows.
03:15 You can get this improved view when you swipe three fingers up
03:17 on the trackpad, click this Task View button,
03:20 or hit the Windows and Tab keys.
03:22 So you took Exposé and gave it a different name,
03:26 Revolutionary.
03:28 Yeah, well, where did you get the idea of split-screen apps
03:31 that's coming up in your iOS 9 and macOS El Capitan?
03:35 Whatever.
03:36 Yeah, well, we're doing it better than you anyway.
03:38 You can still drag windows to the edges
03:40 to snap them side by side.
03:42 Far easier than holding down a button, Mac.
03:45 The system suggests app pairings,
03:47 and on a bigger screen, you can even arrange four apps.
03:50 My favorite trick is maneuvering them around
03:52 by just holding down the Windows key and tapping the arrows.
03:56 Wow, that keyboard shortcut looks great, actually.
03:59 Would really speed things up for me.
04:01 And wait till you see how helpful Cortana is on the desktop.
04:04 What's the weather in Hong Kong?
04:06 - It's currently 82 and raining.
04:11 - But she's really speedy at searching
04:13 and launching apps and websites.
04:15 And because she can access your calendar and email,
04:17 she reminds you of things and feeds you the news you want.
04:20 It's one of many things that makes even upgrading
04:22 from Windows 7 worth it.
04:24 Siri, why don't you come to the Mac?
04:26 But what about apps?
04:27 That's what an operating system's really about.
04:30 Are you're still old and ugly?
04:32 And what about PC virus software?
04:34 That's still popping up all over the place?
04:36 Sorry, did you say something?
04:37 I'm updating right now.
04:38 Our core apps, like photos, are okay,
04:40 but aren't as good as Apple or Google's.
04:43 And we've got all the traditional software,
04:45 but finding a good third-party app
04:46 for Twitter or photo editing isn't easy.
04:49 You spend most of your time in the browser, though,
04:52 so we have this new Edge browser.
04:53 It's fast and has some cool features,
04:55 but honestly, even I still use Chrome.
04:58 - Oh, does it work with my iPhone?
04:59 And are Windows PCs still pretty crappy?
05:02 - Yes, it works with your iPhone.
05:03 All of Microsoft's big services are available
05:05 for the iPhone or are coming soon.
05:08 - If you wanna do Mac things,
05:09 like get iMessage on your computer, you're out of luck.
05:12 And you're right.
05:13 Apple still makes better quality hardware
05:16 and trackpads than most Windows PCs.
05:19 But you know what?
05:20 You can actually try Windows 10 on your Mac,
05:23 and it works really well.
05:25 I will try that.
05:26 Nice job, PC.
05:28 Now just try not to mess with things for a while.
05:30 Maybe I won't make fun of you as much.
05:32 Oh, by the way, your fly's unzipped.
05:34 - Oh, Laura's holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa
05:39 all by herself.
05:39 Dang it!
05:40 - But you're running full office,
05:42 not just the app version, right?
05:44 I don't like where this is going.
05:46 - Hey!
05:47 So...
05:48 Ah, I missed it.
05:49 Do it again.
05:50 - Ready, set,
05:52 set!
05:53 (bell dings)
05:54 (applause)
05:56 - Oh my God.
05:57 - Yeah!
05:58 (bell dings)
05:58 - No!
05:59 - Hi Siri, what's the party for?
06:01 I just got a keyboard.
06:03 I'm a computer now, like you.
06:05 So you have more power?
06:06 Like I said, I just got a keyboard.
06:08 (upbeat music)
06:09 - And jump!
06:10 - Oh yeah!
06:11 - And jump!
06:12 (bell dings)
06:13 - Oh!
06:14 (upbeat music)
06:15 (bell dings)
06:15 (cheering)
06:19 - Hi, I'm a PC.
06:20 - Okay, we're past that, we've moved beyond that.
06:21 - Yeah, I had to restart there.
06:23 You know how it is.
06:24 - No, actually I don't.
06:25 - Oh, what?
06:25 Max don't have to...
06:26 - Had 'em and we lost 'em.
06:30 I'm gonna go get IT.
