00:00 Good morning. A frosty start for some today, more widespread frosts to come in the next
00:06 few mornings and the possibility of a bit of snow in places as well. Today, it'll mostly
00:11 be rain showers, but increasingly the showers over northeast Scotland will start to have
00:16 some sleet and snow mixed in, especially by this evening. And yes, even down to low levels.
00:20 Elsewhere, a few scattered rain showers over the Midlands initially, just grazing the west
00:25 coast of Wales, perhaps coming into the north of Northern Ireland. But for most places,
00:29 a bit dry and a bright day, a bit more sunshine around. And for most of us, too, the winds
00:34 lighter than on Monday. Still quite a breeze blowing, though, in northern Scotland and
00:38 at times down into northeast England. So that'll make it feel on the cold side. Temperature
00:43 is going to struggle single digits across the board and for many, no higher than about
00:47 four or five Celsius. So below average for the end of November for sure, maybe eight
00:52 or nine across the southwest. Pretty quickly this evening, those temperatures are going
00:56 to tumble and increasingly the showers in northeast Scotland will be turning to sleet
01:01 and snow and perhaps some sleet and snow showers for southeast Scotland, northeast England
01:06 as we go through the evening and overnight. And that could allow things to turn quite
01:10 icy as we head into Wednesday morning. Further south will be a bit more cloud around where
01:16 this cloudier zone sits that may just prevent a frost. But certainly for many of us, we're
01:20 going to be down to freezing or a few degrees below to start Wednesday morning through some
01:25 sheltered glens across Scotland. We could be as low as minus seven or minus eight. So
01:30 a cold starts to Wednesday, a frost for many could be some freezing fog patches around
01:35 in places, too. And still the potential for these showers coming into northeastern parts
01:41 of Scotland and along the east coast of England still to have a wintry flavour, some sleet
01:45 and snow at times. The odd rain showers still for West Wales, but most places again tomorrow
01:51 dry, bright with quite a bit of sunshine, but cold temperatures really struggling. Some
01:56 places not getting much above two or three degrees Celsius. Again, the southwest a little
02:01 warmer, but even here we are still below average for the time of year. But said, at least many
02:05 of us will see some sunshine. Then things get really interesting Thursday and Friday.
02:11 The weather patterns really giving us a few headaches here at the Met Office at the moment
02:16 for what happens later this week. There are low pressure systems lurking down to the southwest
02:22 and bringing some moisture to the party and just bumping up against the cold air that's
02:27 in place across the UK and exactly where we see these weather fronts. Well, that could
02:32 provide some sleet and snow across parts of the south for Thursday and potentially into
02:37 Friday. Still quite a bit of uncertainty, as I said at the moment. For more details
02:42 on that and the possible scenarios, you can check out our week ahead forecast on YouTube.
