A 51-year-old woman was arrested and charged with a series of pickpocketing offences in Birmingham. Bullring staff alerted neighbourhood officers who moved in quickly to arrest her. She has been charged with 15 attempt theft from person offences and was remanded to appear at Birmingham magistrates court.

Plans to bulldoze a derelict police station in Billesley and build a new housing estate in its place look set to be approved despite a number of objections. Along with 29 homes, the 1.81 acre site would be accompanied with parking of up to 48 spaces.

The Royal Angus Hotel on Queensway has been transformed into a 21st century luxury Aparthotel following a makeover. There are ten accommodation types to choose from, and the new site also includes a convenience store.
