BIOGRAPHY
Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen grew up in British Columbia. In 2007, she competed in Canadian Idol and won third place. By 2008, Jepsen had moved to Vancouver and released her debut LP, Tug of War. However, her breakthrough was the disco-tinged 2011 single "Call Me Maybe," which topped the singles charts of 21 countries and was nominated for a Song of the Year Grammy Award. She followed it in early 2012 with the Curiosity EP. Her second album, Kiss, arrived in September 2012 and won Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year Juno Awards. For 2015's E-MO-TION, she collaborated with Josh Ramsay, Ryan Stewart, and Max Martin on songs inspired by '80s pop and folk. ~ James Christopher Monger
