00:00 So well, I switched out to the new Strixon driver this year.
00:05 I've been using the Strixon driver since 2019.
00:08 So this is my third different model of it.
00:09 So I feel like every year they keep getting better.
00:11 The two farewell woods I've had,
00:13 I've had for four or five years at this stage.
00:16 So I don't like changing my equipment too much.
00:20 My irons, I put them in at the end of last year.
00:23 It's just a new model iron that Strixon have come out with.
00:25 I think they're pretty similar to last year's.
00:28 I find they're probably feeling a little bit more solid.
00:30 Yeah, like I said,
00:30 I don't like changing my equipment too much.
00:32 So when I find something I like, I like to keep it.
00:35 - What happens when one of the guys comes up
00:36 with a new equipment and he wants to buy a new driver
00:39 to get in there?
00:40 What happens then?
00:41 Do you give it a go?
00:42 - So if it's a new, if Strixon come out with a new product,
00:43 I'll do my absolute best to get it in the bag.
00:46 And I'm generally pretty good at it and they know that.
00:48 So there hasn't been a time since I've started using
00:51 the Strixon driver that I've struggled to get in the bag.
00:53 So hopefully they can keep coming out with good drivers
00:55 and I can use them.
00:56 - What about your wedge line up?
00:57 - Obviously, my wedge line up, I just carry,
00:59 I carry three, a pitch and wedge,
01:01 but that's part of the set.
01:01 But I carry a gap wedge, it's a 50 degree bent 51
01:05 and I've got a 58 degree full face Cleveland wedge.
01:08 So it's, there's a big gap there,
01:10 but I try putting in a sand wedge,
01:13 like a 55 or 56 degree and I find it takes away the feel
01:18 from me a little bit.
01:19 And I end up hitting every shot full out.
01:21 Whereas when I've got that gap,
01:23 I can kind of play around with it a little bit more
01:25 and be creative and that's how I like it.
01:27 - And do you tweak with the line up as a whole too much
01:31 on a week like this?
01:31 - Never, no.
01:32 This is my, this has been my,
01:35 this has been my setup for a few years now.
01:37 I had a two iron, I would have had a two iron
01:39 in the bag in Port Rush, but to be honest,
01:41 the new long irons, the three iron is as good as a two iron
01:45 and you know, I can hit that low and it goes pretty good.
01:48 So there's no, there's no binomial two iron
01:50 that goes five or 10 yards further.
01:52 You just, you know, I've got a five wood and a three wood.
01:55 - What's your longest iron is a three iron?
01:57 - Yeah.
01:58 - Is that quite rare these days to players,
01:59 many players hitting three iron?
02:01 - I would say, yeah.
02:02 With the way they build clubs now,
02:03 they're designed to hit in the air,
02:04 like that three iron, I can hit really in the air,
02:05 but I can also hit really low as well
02:07 and hit like a stinger shot with it
02:09 and it goes pretty good in the wind.
02:10 So, um.
02:11 - So that bag line up there,
02:13 like the exact same every week?
02:16 - Yeah.
02:16 - I don't know when you're playing in America now.
02:17 - Well, I played in America two weeks ago
02:19 and that's what it is, so yeah.
02:20 - And what's it like being in Florida?
02:22 I remember speaking to you a couple of years ago.
02:23 - Yeah, I like it.
02:25 It's great.
02:25 I've got a great way of life down there.
02:26 To be honest, I feel like it's helped improve my game.
02:29 I spend a lot of time with world-class players
02:31 down there playing golf and, uh.
02:33 - Yeah.
02:34 - Yeah, it's a great place to practice.
02:36 You know, I think, I love Ireland
02:39 and I love being there and I'd love to live there,
02:40 but I just can't get done in Ireland
02:43 like you get done in Florida, so.
02:45 I hadn't been home since Christmas.
02:47 I got back last week for the first time, so.
02:49 Yeah, I don't get home as much as I would like.
02:51 - Cool, there's gonna be a lot to mong on your time now
02:53 you're back in the UK this week.
02:55 Thanks for sticking to it.
02:56 - No problem, thanks for having me.
