00:00 Well that was a fun one right there. You know I've said it since the beginning of
00:03 season that we want to be playing our best football at the end of the season
00:06 and we are right now. We've got a really good team. Went out there and competed. We
00:10 want to be the more physical team tonight. I think that showed up. You know I
00:14 think obviously anybody watching us can say that we've got some really special
00:17 players on our team including our quarterback. He was dialed tonight. He was
00:20 on point. I thought all of our coaches did a great job of preparing these guys
00:24 and have them ready to go and that crowd and our student section was absolutely
00:27 unbelievable. So we're gonna need them to show up next week in Vegas but I told
00:31 these guys earlier in the season that every one of your goals is still in
00:34 front of you and I saw a team that just said for the last several weeks that
00:37 we're just gonna work and they just did that. They just worked and they put all
00:40 their goals in front of them and they focused on one day at a time and that's
00:43 what showed up tonight.
00:46 Dan, how much did that first drive, eight minutes, set the tone just for what you
00:52 wanted this game to be? Well I thought they're just really efficient you know
00:55 and taking what's in front of them. Really proud of those guys. I wasn't
00:58 anticipating us having a lot of eight-minute drives in this game. I
01:00 didn't think it would look like that but it's a great you know our guys had a
01:04 great plan and our guys executed that plan really well.
01:09 You held their run game to I think 53 net yards.
01:14 Martina's season low in yardage. Obviously they've had success running
01:18 against stack boxes before but what what was working so well for you guys and
01:21 stopping him and their run game? Yeah making sure that we didn't have any
01:24 one-for-ones. You know they draw it up on offense where if they block you, your
01:28 middle field safety is the last guy left or your high safety is the last guy left
01:31 they're gonna gain five yards. So we knew we had to strike blocks, separate from
01:35 blocks and win those one-on-one battles and then when you make contact they have
01:39 to be knockback tackles which I thought our guys did a good job of.
01:43 First off just the difficulty of Bowe's throw all the way down the field to Troy
01:47 and then also the significance of that in terms of regaining momentum before
01:50 half. I think you pick a lot of throws tonight that were really special. You
01:53 know that was certainly one of them. I know he had pressure in his face on a
01:55 big third down conversion as well. But yeah he was dialed in tonight and did a
02:00 really good job executing those wide outs, did a great job of attacking the
02:02 ball. So being able to score I think that series started with 54 seconds left at
02:07 half. You know and I know people are probably like why are you calling timeouts
02:10 here at the end and that's exactly why. So we can have the ball back and an
02:13 opportunity to go score. So really proud of those guys putting that that drive
02:15 together. Dan how are you how do you think your team is looking at getting
02:22 another opportunity to play Washington next week and and how have you used that?
02:27 Has that been sort of a motivating factor since that defeat to have the
02:31 know that potentially at the end of the year there was opportunity to face them
02:34 again and how have you guys used that internally? Yeah I think ultimately every
02:37 single player in that locker room knew what was in front of us and we knew we
02:41 didn't get there if we didn't do a good job of focusing on the task at hand and
02:43 that's really what it's been about. It's been about each day, it's been about
02:47 each moment. It's gonna be tomorrow, it's not gonna be about Washington either.
02:50 It's gonna be about the Ducks and what do we got to do tomorrow to be better. So
02:54 we kept up you know kept the focus on us and what's in front of us and we know we
02:58 got to play good teams to get where we want to be but again playing our best
03:01 ball how can we get better. We talk about a growth mindset in this program I
03:05 think we have a bunch of guys that are like okay how can I improve how can I
03:08 get better and that showed up tonight.
