00:02:29 Former general secretary of the party.
00:02:42 (speaking in foreign language)
00:02:48 (speaking in foreign language)
00:02:52 Leadership of the MPP has taken notice
00:03:03 of recent activities of Hopson Adoye,
00:03:06 Yao Boabeng Asamoah, and Nana Ohene Into
00:03:11 as well as Boniface Abubakar Sadiq,
00:03:14 which includes publicly endorsing
00:03:17 the candidate of a person other than
00:03:18 the duly elected presidential candidate
00:03:21 of the party's excellency, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bamiya.
00:03:24 In spite of their flagrant breach
00:03:26 of the party's constitution,
00:03:28 particularly Article 35A4 and 391,
00:03:33 the afore named men still hold themselves out
00:03:38 as members of the MPP.
00:03:40 For the avoidance of doubt,
00:03:42 Article 35A and four of the MPP constitution
00:03:46 enjoins all members of the party to quote,
00:03:50 "Abide by and publicly uphold
00:03:53 "the decision of the party," unquote.
00:03:55 In addition, Article 391 of the constitution
00:03:57 provides as follows, quote,
00:03:59 "A member of the party who stands
00:04:01 "as an independent candidate against
00:04:03 "the officially elected member of the party
00:04:06 "or who joins or declasses or has support
00:04:08 "for another political party
00:04:09 "or for an independent candidate
00:04:12 "when the party has sponsored a candidate
00:04:14 "in a general or by-election,
00:04:16 "automatically forfeit his or her
00:04:19 "membership of the party," unquote.
00:04:21 In line with these constitutional provisions,
00:04:24 it is the view of the MPP that Hopeson Adoye,
00:04:27 Nana Ohinento, Boniface Abubakar Sadiq,
00:04:30 and Yao Bwabenga Samwa have automatically
00:04:35 forfeited their membership of the party.
00:04:37 They are therefore no longer members of the party.
00:04:40 The MPP entreat its members to remain true to it,
00:04:43 their duties are spare.
00:04:44 Article 35 of the party constitution,
00:04:46 we further call upon our members
00:04:48 to bear in mind that the party's focus
00:04:50 is to unite its ranks and rally the support of Ghanaians
00:04:53 to make history by winning the 24th general election,
00:04:55 signed Justin Kuduafrenpon, general secretary.
00:04:58 Nana Martin.

00:38:36 (speaking in foreign language)
00:38:41 (speaking in foreign language)
00:38:45 (speaking in foreign language)
00:38:50 (speaking in foreign language)
00:38:55 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:00 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:05 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:11 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:14 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:21 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:26 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:31 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:38 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:41 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:46 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:51 (speaking in foreign language)
00:39:56 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:01 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:06 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:10 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:15 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:20 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:25 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:31 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:37 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:41 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:46 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:51 (speaking in foreign language)
00:40:56 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:01 (upbeat music)
00:41:06 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:10 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:14 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:19 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:24 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:29 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:34 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:39 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:43 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:48 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:53 (speaking in foreign language)
00:41:58 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:03 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:08 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:12 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:17 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:22 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:27 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:32 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:37 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:41 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:46 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:51 (speaking in foreign language)
00:42:56 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:01 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:06 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:10 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:15 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:20 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:25 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:30 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:35 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:38 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:43 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:48 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:53 (speaking in foreign language)
00:43:58 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:03 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:06 - But why would you even raise that question?
00:44:08 - Why should I raise it?
00:44:10 - Why would you raise,
00:44:11 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:15 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:20 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:30 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:34 - But at least present your case,
00:44:36 let the other present their case in a nice way.
00:44:39 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:40 They will make up their minds
00:44:41 and that is what is the important thing.
00:44:43 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:47 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:52 (speaking in foreign language)
00:44:59 (speaking in foreign language)
00:45:03 - And to the fact to say you have been part
00:45:21 of what is going on,
00:45:23 whether in government, in a political party or outside,
00:45:26 it doesn't stop you from contesting.
00:45:28 (speaking in foreign language)
00:45:32 (speaking in foreign language)
00:45:37 So those points,
00:45:47 (speaking in foreign language)
00:45:52 (speaking in foreign language)
00:45:57 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:01 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:06 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:11 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:15 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:42 - I cover so many things on the blueprint,
00:46:45 a framework on the Atuja.
00:46:47 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:52 (speaking in foreign language)
00:46:57 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:02 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:07 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:11 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:34 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:36 - Large scale agriculture, mechanized with high tech.
00:47:40 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:41 Industries and processing.
00:47:43 (speaking in foreign language)
00:47:44 Most of it, raw materials are yet to--
00:47:47 (speaking in foreign language)
00:48:00 - About 200 industries, basically startup.
00:48:04 (speaking in foreign language)
00:48:08 - Those industries are functioning now.
00:48:18 - Yes, yes, yes, exactly.
00:48:19 - All of them.
00:48:20 (speaking in foreign language)
00:48:25 - I have it here.
00:48:26 (speaking in foreign language)
00:48:31 (speaking in foreign language)
00:48:36 (speaking in foreign language)
00:48:40 - The assembling and manufacturing
00:48:51 of brand new cars.
00:48:52 (speaking in foreign language)
00:48:53 And the production and manufacture
00:48:55 of brand new spare parts.
00:48:56 (speaking in foreign language)
00:49:00 - President, Vice President.
00:49:03 (speaking in foreign language)
00:49:08 (speaking in foreign language)
00:49:13 (speaking in foreign language)
00:49:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:49:22 (speaking in foreign language)
00:49:43 (speaking in foreign language)
00:49:47 - Loyalty, yeah.
00:50:00 - How can you say that?
00:50:02 (speaking in foreign language)
00:50:07 (speaking in foreign language)
00:50:11 - Battle, 2007 primary.
00:50:23 (speaking in foreign language)
00:50:28 Difficult.
00:50:32 (speaking in foreign language)
00:50:35 (speaking in foreign language)
00:50:39 - By default.
00:50:46 (speaking in foreign language)
00:50:51 - Resources, so a free 2007 primary.
00:50:54 (speaking in foreign language)
00:50:58 It is not by chance.
00:51:12 (speaking in foreign language)
00:51:17 - Oh, okay.
00:51:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:51:22 - Realistically, so some of these things we know,
00:51:31 but that is what happened.
00:51:33 (speaking in foreign language)
00:51:42 (speaking in foreign language)
00:51:46 - Corruption, yeah.
00:51:49 (speaking in foreign language)
00:51:54 (speaking in foreign language)
00:51:59 (speaking in foreign language)
00:52:04 (speaking in foreign language)
00:52:09 (speaking in foreign language)
00:52:13 (speaking in foreign language)
00:52:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:52:46 - Okay.
00:52:47 (speaking in foreign language)
00:52:52 (speaking in foreign language)
00:52:57 (speaking in foreign language)
00:53:02 - Almost every time, corporate entities.
00:53:05 (speaking in foreign language)
00:53:09 I think that is what Ghana needs.
00:53:17 Look.
00:53:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:53:22 - President, vice president, finance minister,
00:53:29 the deputies, parties, general secretary.
00:53:31 (speaking in foreign language)
00:53:58 - Okay.
00:53:59 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:03 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:08 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:13 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:22 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:29 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:45 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:49 (speaking in foreign language)
00:54:56 (speaking in foreign language)
00:55:01 (speaking in foreign language)
00:55:06 (speaking in foreign language)
00:55:33 (speaking in foreign language)
00:55:38 (speaking in foreign language)
00:55:43 (speaking in foreign language)
00:56:09 (speaking in foreign language)
00:56:14 (speaking in foreign language)
00:56:18 (speaking in foreign language)
00:56:23 (speaking in foreign language)
00:56:41 (speaking in foreign language)
00:56:45 (speaking in foreign language)
00:56:51 - There is a first time for everything.
00:57:03 One, two.
00:57:04 - Okay.
00:57:04 - Any and every situation
00:57:06 requires a certain particular response.
00:57:08 (speaking in foreign language)
00:57:12 - Okay, Matty.
00:57:14 I'll give you both one, one minute.
00:57:16 (speaking in foreign language)
00:57:20 - I'm so surprised about some of the things
00:57:29 and now I need to cry.
00:57:33 But I also agree with him.
00:57:36 (speaking in foreign language)
00:57:40 I want to ask, is Anan an extension of Kufu?
00:57:49 Is Anan an extension of Kufu?
00:57:54 (speaking in foreign language)
00:57:58 And I'll be happy.
00:58:01 I'll be happy.
00:58:02 (speaking in foreign language)
00:58:06 - Okay.
00:58:12 (speaking in foreign language)
00:58:16 - It's about new ideas.
00:58:22 - Okay.
00:58:23 (speaking in foreign language)
00:58:28 - Whether from political party or whatever.
00:58:32 - Okay.
00:58:33 - We'll have new ideas.
00:58:34 - Okay.
00:58:35 (speaking in foreign language)
00:58:38 - Everything is possible on this earth.
00:58:40 (speaking in foreign language)
00:58:44 (speaking in foreign language)
00:58:55 - The EMT, I think one day you give us a chance to discuss.
00:58:59 (speaking in foreign language)
00:59:01 The EMT, the role and the whole lot.
00:59:04 And people will understand, they are just overusing that.
00:59:07 (speaking in foreign language)
00:59:23 - They make it simple.
00:59:25 This is a man who was part of the economic management team
00:59:29 for seven years.
00:59:30 (speaking in foreign language)
00:59:34 He's been part and parcel of the EMT for seven years.
00:59:44 (speaking in foreign language)
00:59:48 And you are now presenting yourselves
00:59:50 (speaking in foreign language)
00:59:54 when you've been part of the systematic destruction
00:59:57 of this country.
00:59:58 (speaking in foreign language)
01:00:02 He's been part of this government.
01:00:12 (speaking in foreign language)
01:00:18 Again, 120 factories.
01:00:20 (speaking in foreign language)
01:00:24 As I speak with you, unemployment rate is almost 15%.
01:00:30 (speaking in foreign language)
01:00:34 (speaking in foreign language)
01:00:38 But the last count, almost everything in this country
01:00:55 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:00 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:04 This is a man, the presidential initiative
01:01:09 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:13 This is a man, 1D1F, (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:20 What is the states?
01:01:22 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:27 Anytime (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:32 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:38 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:52 (speaking in foreign language)
01:01:56 - Before I say, my quote, 24 hour economy,
01:02:13 I say, I used to start a pro.
01:02:16 Maybe he doesn't know what is happening at I used to start.
01:02:21 My latest information is that (speaking in foreign language)
01:02:26 The minister of trade, current, Katie Harmon,
01:02:36 has disclosed that 126 projects are currently in operation
01:02:41 under the government's 1D1F policy.
01:02:45 (speaking in foreign language)
01:02:50 (speaking in foreign language)
01:02:54 Each one of these 126 factories in the world, too.
01:03:02 (speaking in foreign language)
01:03:06 (speaking in foreign language)
01:03:15 (speaking in foreign language)
01:03:19 That kind of language is not good for--
01:03:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:03:31 (speaking in foreign language)
01:03:37 (speaking in foreign language)
01:03:41 (speaking in foreign language)
01:03:54 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:04 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:08 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:14 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:26 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:31 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:35 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:40 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:45 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:50 (speaking in foreign language)
01:04:55 (speaking in foreign language)
01:05:00 (speaking in foreign language)
01:05:04 The financial sector, are they conditioned and prepared
01:05:11 to support the private sector?
01:05:13 (speaking in foreign language)
01:05:16 And it takes a whole lot of policy thinking,
01:05:20 and you don't pick one factor out of an economy
01:05:25 and say, "Enough for you to run."
01:05:28 (speaking in foreign language)
01:05:32 Serious, more serious difficulties.
01:05:45 Infrastructure difficulties, financing difficulties,
01:05:48 market access difficulties.
01:05:50 (speaking in foreign language)
01:05:57 (speaking in foreign language)
01:06:01 (upbeat music)
01:06:17 (speaking in foreign language)
01:06:23 (speaking in foreign language)
01:06:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:06:51 William, Williams, (speaking in foreign language)
01:06:54 You're starting with the 24-hour economy thing.
01:06:57 (speaking in foreign language)
01:07:01 (speaking in foreign language)
01:07:07 (speaking in foreign language)
01:07:11 (speaking in foreign language)

01:08:07 (speaking in foreign language)
01:08:13 (speaking in foreign language)
01:08:17 (speaking in foreign language)
01:08:25 (speaking in foreign language)
01:08:42 (speaking in foreign language)
01:08:46 His Excellency John Ramayani Mahama.
01:08:55 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:00 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:11 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:15 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:20 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:25 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:30 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:38 (speaking in foreign language)
01:09:42 (speaking in foreign language)
01:10:06 (speaking in foreign language)
01:10:34 (speaking in foreign language)
01:10:38 (speaking in foreign language)
01:10:44 (speaking in foreign language)
01:10:52 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:01 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:05 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:10 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:15 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:20 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:25 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:30 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:34 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:41 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:46 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:51 (speaking in foreign language)
01:11:57 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:01 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:06 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:11 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:16 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:21 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:31 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:37 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:42 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:47 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:53 (speaking in foreign language)
01:12:57 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:02 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:07 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:12 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:17 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:22 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:26 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:31 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:36 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:41 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:46 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:51 (speaking in foreign language)
01:13:55 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:00 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:05 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:10 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:15 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:20 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:24 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:29 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:34 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:39 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:44 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:49 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:53 (speaking in foreign language)
01:14:58 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:03 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:08 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:13 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:18 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:22 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:32 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:37 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:42 (speaking in foreign language)
01:15:47 - A conference organized by the Sustainable Development
01:15:52 Goals Unit at the Office of the President on Blue Economy.
01:15:58 The whole idea was to situate the 31st May to June.
01:16:03 Ah, Omuye National Blue Economy Summit
01:16:09 with a theme, our ocean of prosperity,
01:16:14 our planet's security.
01:16:17 So the idea was to focus on this
01:16:19 and identify where we can utilize
01:16:23 our coastline resources to create wealth.
01:16:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:16:29 We have 550 kilometer stretch of coastline.
01:16:32 (speaking in foreign language)
01:16:41 But research has shown that the coastline
01:16:44 can generate about $25 billion per annum
01:16:49 if you are able to utilize that alone.
01:16:54 And it is linked to other sectors,
01:17:00 tourism development, marine,
01:17:03 if not, we'll discuss, yeah,
01:17:05 fisheries and a whole lot.
01:17:07 But it's a combination.
01:17:09 So it's more or less, it's a catalyst
01:17:12 to, how can I say, to change the phase
01:17:17 of how we utilize our resources
01:17:21 for growth and development.
01:17:23 (speaking in foreign language)
01:17:26 If you are able to do that, Kwana,
01:17:28 the already existing, a year,
01:17:30 24 economy, I can't say,
01:17:32 (speaking in foreign language)
01:17:35 will be part of it where the private sector
01:17:38 will respond.
01:17:39 (speaking in foreign language)
01:17:43 I haven't gotten it well.
01:17:45 The coastal line can generate some,
01:17:47 (speaking in foreign language)
01:17:49 Within that.
01:17:50 (speaking in foreign language)
01:17:52 As of now, Ghana will create a mixed economic model,
01:17:57 a liberal system.
01:18:00 (speaking in foreign language)
01:18:03 There is a sector that can help us
01:18:08 to grow and to develop.
01:18:12 The coastal line, the marine resource.
01:18:15 (speaking in foreign language)
01:18:17 So we want to take advantage, exploit,
01:18:20 and build or develop that system.
01:18:23 (speaking in foreign language)
01:18:27 One, there'll be partnership with the private sector.
01:18:31 (speaking in foreign language)
01:18:33 Two, try to sustainably explore
01:18:36 what we can do with the marine resource.
01:18:41 (speaking in foreign language)
01:18:46 Generating employment, generating wealth.
01:18:48 So it's not just,
01:18:50 (speaking in foreign language)
01:18:54 - You see, the NDC, for example,
01:18:59 they have, (speaking in foreign language)
01:19:01 explaining what is involved in the 24-hour economy,
01:19:05 the incentives, power, and all of that.
01:19:08 The blue economy, mostly there will be partnerships.
01:19:10 You want to explore what you can do.
01:19:12 But what is it really?
01:19:14 Okay, until when do we take the blue economy?
01:19:16 What are the component?
01:19:18 (speaking in foreign language)
01:19:22 NPP, we believe in private sector-led government.
01:19:26 (speaking in foreign language)
01:19:27 So you need to build and create the enabling environment
01:19:30 that the private sector will respond.
01:19:32 And we've been doing that,
01:19:35 building and supporting the private sector.
01:19:39 (speaking in foreign language)
01:19:41 Incentives, (speaking in foreign language)
01:19:43 they are already there.
01:19:44 They are there.
01:19:46 Tax reliefs, they are there.
01:19:48 So we are saying, we have a resource,
01:19:51 (speaking in foreign language)
01:19:52 which has been under-exploited.
01:19:54 So we are going to develop it
01:19:57 in a way that the private sector will come and invest.
01:20:00 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:02 - And also, every policy has an objective, right?
01:20:04 - Yes.
01:20:05 - And to, before you bring in a private investor,
01:20:08 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:09 you should create the direction.
01:20:12 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:15 The sea is big.
01:20:16 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:18 What are we looking for?
01:20:19 - We have, one key thing is marine transport.
01:20:22 - Okay.
01:20:23 - It's there, okay?
01:20:25 We have fisheries there.
01:20:27 We have tourism potential there, okay?
01:20:31 So we are going to unpack and prioritize all this.
01:20:35 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:37 - Okay.
01:20:38 - Prioritize all this.
01:20:39 And look, and you will be able to establish
01:20:42 the necessary strategic partnerships.
01:20:45 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:46 - Yeah, that's right.
01:20:47 - And two, what resources would they need?
01:20:51 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:55 - Okay.
01:20:57 (speaking in foreign language)
01:20:58 - Okay, yo, Matty.
01:20:59 (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:00 - Yeah, Matty.
01:21:01 - Yeah.
01:21:02 - Williams, what's your view on the blue economy?
01:21:05 (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:07 - I mean, clearly, blue economy now,
01:21:11 His Excellency, (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:15 The communicators, (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:18 - Oh, that's--
01:21:19 - Because His Excellency John Ramayani Mahama,
01:21:22 (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:26 (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:31 (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:35 (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:40 (speaking in foreign language)
01:21:44 (speaking in foreign language)
01:22:06 (speaking in foreign language)
01:22:10 - Where is it?
01:22:17 (speaking in foreign language)
01:22:22 (speaking in foreign language)
01:22:26 These are parts of the blue economy.
01:22:40 (speaking in foreign language)
01:22:44 (speaking in foreign language)
01:22:48 (speaking in foreign language)
01:22:56 (speaking in foreign language)
01:23:02 So this is nothing new.
01:23:07 (speaking in foreign language)
01:23:14 (speaking in foreign language)
01:23:18 And now this thing is not happening.
01:23:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:23:31 - Okay, just 30 seconds,
01:23:36 (speaking in foreign language)
01:23:42 I gave you an instance, the blue economy summit.
01:23:45 When did it take place?
01:23:47 And when did Mahama cancel our economy?
01:23:51 Just about two weeks ago.
01:23:56 - Okay.
01:23:57 (speaking in foreign language)
01:23:58 - I told you it was in our 2020 manifesto.
01:24:00 - Oh!
01:24:01 (speaking in foreign language)
01:24:03 - Yeah.
01:24:04 - It was in the 2020 manifesto.
01:24:05 You can pick it and--
01:24:06 (speaking in foreign language)
01:24:07 Anyway, (speaking in foreign language)
01:24:12 Vice President Mahamudu Bamiya on Amo,
01:24:15 a 24 hour economy and the blue economy respectively.
01:24:19 (speaking in foreign language)
01:24:23 - To implement a 24 hour economy.
01:24:29 (cheering)
01:24:31 And by this we will provide incentives
01:24:34 in terms of reduction in corporate taxes
01:24:38 and other exemptions to businesses
01:24:41 that will sign up to the 24 hour economy initiative.
01:24:46 And if you remember, in the past,
01:24:51 but then we must also look at the security side
01:24:54 and make sure that we provide that with security.
01:24:57 If you remember in the past,
01:24:59 filling stations used to work 24 hours.
01:25:02 Unfortunately, Amro started attacking them
01:25:05 and because of that, they all closed at about 10 o'clock.
01:25:09 And so we were able to provide them with adequate security.
01:25:12 Businesses and services like that,
01:25:14 there's no reason why they can't operate 24 hours
01:25:17 and we'll give them the tax incentives to be able to do so.
01:25:21 We identify and promote strategic growth areas such as IT
01:25:26 with a targeted $3 billion investment
01:25:29 and drive an aggressive infrastructure development
01:25:32 under our Big Push program.
01:25:35 We will shift attention from the macro economy
01:25:39 to the micro and focus on growth in the real sector
01:25:44 instead of just on macro economic stability.
01:25:48 Additionally, we'll support the TUC and organized labor
01:25:52 to expand its current investments
01:25:55 and establish new joint businesses and ventures
01:25:58 with third parties to also provide employment to our people.
01:26:02 [applause]
01:26:05 [unclear]
01:26:11 I'm sure there are more places where labor can invest its resources.
01:26:15 As far as you know,
01:26:18 we exist for people to establish industries and go in uni.
01:26:22 It tells you that if you make me president,
01:26:27 I will have my own vision and I will have my own priorities
01:26:32 and I will bring more ideas and more ideas and more ideas.
01:26:38 Today, her mama says he has a new idea.
01:26:43 And what is the new idea?
01:26:45 He says he wants a 24-hour economy.
01:26:49 24-hour economy.
01:26:52 He doesn't even understand that promise.
01:26:55 Today in Ghana, our hospitals work 24 hours.
01:27:00 Our electricity company works 24 hours.
01:27:05 Our water company works 24 hours.
01:27:09 Our phone companies work 24 hours.
01:27:13 Many shoppers work 24 hours.
01:27:16 Isn't it?
01:27:18 Today, because of digitalization,
01:27:21 the banks, you can transfer money 24 hours.
01:27:26 You can receive money 24 hours.
01:27:29 Isn't it?
01:27:31 So, he doesn't understand his own promise.
01:27:35 It does not make sense.
01:27:38 And why don't you,
01:27:40 to vote in 2024,
01:27:42 to Dr. Mahamudu Baraniye,
01:27:45 I will bring a new vision.
01:27:47 I will bring new policy.
01:27:49 I will bring a new policy.
01:27:51 I will bring a new policy.
01:27:53 Don't worry about the past.
01:27:55 Don't worry about the future.
01:27:57 Alright, so that former president and vice president,
01:28:01 we will be concluding our discussion.
01:28:05 Thank you.
01:28:06 Alright, we will continue our discussion.
01:28:13 We will continue our discussion.
01:28:16 Yes, and I will be criticizing Mublu,
01:28:21 who also criticized 24 hours.
01:28:23 I will say, it's quite interesting.
01:28:27 Because I see it as a public statement.
01:28:31 Really?
01:28:32 Yes.
01:28:33 A public statement...
01:28:34 But I am actually a component.
01:28:36 No, no, no.
01:28:37 You are not a component.
01:28:38 No, why? You are not fair to me.
01:28:40 No, no, no.
01:28:41 I am not.
01:28:42 Let me tell you why I say it's a public statement.
01:28:46 Okay, maybe you will say just helping companies to operate at full capacity.
01:28:56 I mean, every economy is run by production and also demand.
01:29:02 So in economies, say, 24 hours, every economy runs 24 hours.
01:29:11 Depending on the environment that you create for the private sector to respond,
01:29:17 they can decide to work in the afternoon, they can decide to work in the evening.
01:29:23 Okay, the question I may be saying is, what is the policy objective of that 24 hours?
01:29:30 To ensure companies...
01:29:31 Is it to create jobs?
01:29:33 Mm-hmm.
01:29:34 Is it to increase production?
01:29:36 Okay, the jobs, let me ask.
01:29:40 Say, CIM or CCA, if, say, a company is operating,
01:29:45 no need to say, "I have demand for my products."
01:29:49 I did that thing now to say, say, "I will work in closer five or closer six."
01:29:55 They will definitely come out, say, "Where is that shift system?"
01:30:00 Say, "It will be in my area. It will be in my area."
01:30:03 The thing is, there are a lot of companies that are operating this 24-hour thing I am talking about.
01:30:10 I'm from a mining town, Kenyan city.
01:30:13 Newmont is there.
01:30:15 They have workers that are on the ground.
01:30:20 Newmont is a local company.
01:30:23 Oh.
01:30:24 Oh, but did you specify, say, local and afford?
01:30:26 Yes.
01:30:27 You see, local companies are...
01:30:28 So what I'm saying is, say...
01:30:29 Yes, yes.
01:30:30 What I'm saying is, say...
01:30:31 Ah, so that's your 24-hour is to empower local companies.
01:30:34 Why should we even give such things to Newmont?
01:30:36 Okay, but two, two.
01:30:38 You are going to give incentives.
01:30:41 If you also come up with cheap energy,
01:30:45 [inaudible]
01:30:48 that all you have organizers,
01:30:50 [inaudible]
01:30:55 How many vehicles will be operating in the night?
01:30:58 That will be demanding the service of organizers.
01:31:01 [inaudible]
01:31:03 So what I'm saying is, say,
01:31:06 if you say 24-hour economy,
01:31:09 every economy is operating 24 hours,
01:31:11 depending on demand, the production and demand,
01:31:16 are you going to legislate it?
01:31:18 But I must say, I am voluntary.
01:31:20 Okay?
01:31:21 I am voluntary there.
01:31:23 Then the entrepreneurs and other investors, you know,
01:31:27 they will see or look at the business environment,
01:31:32 the enabling environment I was creating,
01:31:34 and will not respond.
01:31:36 Okay.
01:31:37 Okay.
01:31:38 So they are not that.
01:31:40 [inaudible]
01:31:45 Kenya, Kenya wanted to do that.
01:31:50 They set up a 24-member committee to look at that.
01:31:54 And they realized, say, in economy terms, it didn't make sense.
01:31:58 Australia did that.
01:32:01 [inaudible]
01:32:04 You couldn't give us even energy for four years.
01:32:07 [inaudible]
01:32:11 Oh, yeah.
01:32:12 [inaudible]
01:32:16 Okay.
01:32:17 Your friend said, "Mama, happy birthday."
01:32:21 [inaudible]
01:32:35 A happy, blessed 50th birthday to Sylvester Kwame Kujo
01:32:41 our modern South London, UK.
01:32:53 South London, UK.
01:32:54 And a special blessed birthday to you,
01:32:58 [inaudible]
01:33:02 That's it for you there.
01:33:05 [inaudible]
01:33:14 Japan family, say, will show blessings and grace.
01:33:19 [inaudible]
01:33:28 [inaudible]
01:33:44 [inaudible]
01:33:57 [inaudible]
01:34:20 [inaudible]
01:34:49 [inaudible]
01:34:55 Okay.
01:34:56 [inaudible]
01:35:00 Joshua, our friend, Joshua Martin.
01:35:03 Yeah, yeah.
01:35:04 [inaudible]
01:35:06 [inaudible]
01:35:13 In fact, [inaudible]
01:35:20 wonderful economy we have.
01:35:23 [inaudible]
01:35:31 productivity.
01:35:32 [inaudible]
01:35:38 [inaudible]
01:35:44 You provide the enabling environment for the private sector people to participate.
01:35:50 And that is what John Jomany Mama is doing.
01:35:52 [inaudible]
01:36:03 Okay. All right, yo.
01:36:04 Medase.
01:36:06 Richard, so I join you on the line.
01:36:08 Rich, good morning.
01:36:11 Hello, Richard.
01:36:13 Hello, Richard.
01:36:15 [inaudible]
01:36:25 [inaudible]
01:36:46 [inaudible]
01:37:15 [inaudible]
01:37:24 Okay, yo. Medase.
01:37:26 Thank you so much.
01:37:27 [inaudible]
01:37:30 Abeku, good morning.
01:37:32 Good morning.
01:37:33 [inaudible]
01:37:43 [inaudible]
01:37:47 [inaudible]
01:38:15 All right. Yo. Medase.
01:38:18 Now, in 2020, the United States of America,
01:38:21 in 1.7% of all GDP from its ocean economy,
01:38:26 our friend, the blue economy,
01:38:27 has amounted to more than $360 billion.
01:38:31 Now, to the European Union,
01:38:33 or more, 500 billion euros.
01:38:37 Now, with renewable energy becoming the new way of the world,
01:38:41 and, unfortunately, a government,
01:38:43 but we actually have to use power of the ocean
01:38:46 in order to generate energy as well.
01:38:48 And to ensure all of that, I mean, 24-hour economy,
01:38:51 incentives to the private business people,
01:38:53 local businesses, to ensure that we have round-the-clock production,
01:38:57 not just six hours, eight hours, shift,
01:39:00 all the time, you know, production in the economy.
01:39:03 Maybe we'll be at one minute for us to wrap up. Yeah.
01:39:05 You know, Vinya, what we are saying,
01:39:09 [inaudible]
01:39:13 Mahama has been president, and he's woefully filled.
01:39:18 For years, he couldn't even give us energy.
01:39:21 Okay. Now, I don't have any problem if the economy is running 24 hours.
01:39:27 But at the end of the day, okay,
01:39:30 something that is happening,
01:39:32 and we believe, sir, production and demand are key for this to run.
01:39:38 Okay? And he said, "We need one infrastructure.
01:39:42 We need energy, incentives, and you can't send this out.
01:39:45 Can't, can't, can't, can't."
01:39:47 And he found out, I could do it. I could do it.
01:39:49 Oh, really?
01:39:50 Yeah. So, what I'm saying is that,
01:39:52 what I'm saying is that now, okay,
01:39:55 create the enabling environment.
01:39:57 Okay.
01:39:58 Stabilize your economy.
01:39:59 And when the private sector, they see, say, there is demand,
01:40:02 they will definitely respond.
01:40:04 And production will go up.
01:40:07 Okay.
01:40:08 And as I said, every investor and entrepreneur,
01:40:11 it's not that to say, say, if there is demand for my product,
01:40:14 I'll be there. I'll be there.
01:40:15 I'll be there.
01:40:16 Yes.
01:40:17 Vinya, OBN, his excellency John Grammine Mahama,
01:40:20 and a survey done, so, including by WMIA,
01:40:23 and what you call, my sister station,
01:40:25 and what you call, my sister station,
01:40:27 Joy Online,
01:40:29 his excellency John Grammine Mahama,
01:40:31 deserves no credit for solving Dunso.
01:40:34 It is a fact.
01:40:36 24-hour economy.
01:40:38 I'm not going to go into the actual.
01:40:40 I'm going to tell you,
01:40:42 I'm going to tell you what I'm afraid of.
01:40:44 It is jobs and productivity.
01:40:47 Okay.
01:40:48 Blue economy, already,
01:40:49 I'm talking about $300 million,
01:40:53 under his excellency John Grammine Mahama.
01:40:55 I fear that if you don't have that,
01:40:57 you will not be able to have an ocean economy.
01:40:59 Yes, I'm not going to lie.
01:41:01 We have that money from the blue economy.
01:41:04 Of course, we get money from fishing.
01:41:07 The blue economy is not just about insolvent.
01:41:10 Even oil and gas is part of the blue economy.
01:41:13 We have coral reefs.
01:41:15 We have energy.
01:41:16 We have wind.
01:41:17 We have wind, energy.
01:41:18 We have no use of the coral reefs.
01:41:20 But we are getting oil and gas.
01:41:22 Oil and gas.
01:41:23 That's what I'm saying.
01:41:24 We are getting oil and gas.
01:41:26 Now, my company,
01:41:28 I'm pretty sure we have about 55% capacity.
01:41:32 But the demand is there.
01:41:34 They need just advanced producers.
01:41:38 They need to produce a lot of coral reefs.
01:41:40 His excellency John Grammine Mahama said,
01:41:42 "Such companies,
01:41:44 if they don't have advanced producers,
01:41:46 they will not be able to produce enough
01:41:48 to be able to produce enough coral reefs.
01:41:50 So, we need to be more creative.
01:41:52 We need to be more creative in our full capacities.
01:41:54 We need to employ more people.
01:41:56 We need to be more creative."
01:41:58 Thank you.
01:42:00 I'm with my production team,
01:42:02 my producers,
01:42:04 and camera sound for OBI.
01:42:06 Moses Minson,
01:42:08 SRA from Otopu.
01:42:10 Otopu is a man who has a lot of talent.
01:42:12 He has a lot of talent.
01:42:14 He is a man who has a lot of talent.
01:42:16 That's right.
01:42:18 I'm going to be a hunter.
01:42:20 I'm going to be a hunter.
01:42:22 I'm going to be a hunter.
01:42:24 We'll meet again next week.
01:42:26 (upbeat music)
