00:13 for coming. Hi, thanks so much for having me. Okay so we have to ask you are you
00:16 coming for Mariah's Christmas crown because you have two Christmas movies coming out
00:20 just this month alone so what is it about this genre that keeps you coming
00:24 back? Well I could never take her crown. She is the queen of Christmas and I love her. She actually
00:28 directed one of the Christmas movies that I did a few years ago but I love
00:31 making these movies because I love the holiday season so much and I feel
00:35 really honored to be a part of bringing some joy into people's homes. But it must
00:39 be weird making a holiday movie in July. Oh my gosh that is the weirdest part for sure.
00:43 You're like sweating and it's very hot and you have the four layers on and it's 110
00:48 degrees outside but you know we've learned to like act like it's cold and you just
00:51 incorporate it in there. Yeah well that's all the part of acting. Right. Getting in the mood.
00:55 Exactly. Now you produce movies too but also like have you ever thought of
00:59 directing? I haven't directed. It's something that I think I'd really love
01:03 to do in the future in the right time but I'm really thankful for the
01:05 opportunity I've had with Hallmark to produce these movies and be involved in
01:09 the development of the stories and have that creative ownership and voice and
01:13 it's a it's been a wonderful opportunity. Okay I'm happy you brought that up
01:16 because I too want to write a Christmas movie. Oh here we go. I need to know what does
01:21 every good Christmas movie need? Well I think you need to get snowball fight, you need a good
01:27 tree trimming scene, hot chocolate, twinkly lights, you know all the all the feel-good
01:33 stuff. A candy cane, maybe some mistletoe. You need like a sexy dance somewhere in a talent show.
01:40 Speaking of you and your other famous alums brought Mean Girls back for a
01:44 Walmart commercial. What was it like stepping back into the role of Gretchen?
01:49 Was it like riding a bike? It was so much fun to step it back into Gretchen's
01:53 shoes and to be with Lindsay and Amanda and spend the day together and reminisce
01:57 about the movie and also catch up. It was a real full-circle moment. We're all moms
02:01 now and it was just it was really a dream to be with them. Well it was fun to
02:06 watch but also you just brought up that you're all moms now so did you guys all
02:09 bond over that? Like what brought y'all together when you were talking about
02:12 being moms? Absolutely, we were sharing pictures of our kids and telling stories and it's so
02:17 nice when almost 20 years later we were able to catch up and have that special
02:20 experience together. I'm really grateful for it. I love that. Now we gotta talk
02:24 because we were talking during the commercial break. You were partying with
02:28 Glade for a new line of holiday candles. We're in a fight about which one's the
02:34 best. I know. I am obsessed with this limited edition holiday collection from
02:38 Glade. I love the holidays so much and scents are such a huge part of the
02:42 holiday experience. You light a candle, turn on some Christmas music. My daughter
02:46 and I were decorating the tree and you know baking Christmas cookies together
02:50 and it just brings the whole Christmas experience into your house. I know we
02:54 were arguing about which one was the best. I was gonna say we're gonna put you on the spot. Which one gets top billing in your house? I love the twinkling pine and cedar because I have an artificial
03:03 Christmas tree so when you light this candle you feel like you have a real
03:05 Christmas tree in your house. By the way and no one will ever know. No, nobody's gonna know.
03:09 Nobody is gonna know. There's also another one, starlight and snowflakes. It feels like fresh
03:15 fallen snow and it smells so fresh and they're just, all the scents are
03:19 amazing so I hope you check it out. What's the one thing that you did as a
03:22 kid that you're passing on to your daughter with holidays? Like is there traditions that you are looking forward to? My
03:30 favorite thing is being in the kitchen and baking because it's something I did
03:33 with my great-grandmother and my grandmother and my mom and it just
03:36 brings back you know all the childhood memories that are so cherished for me
03:39 and then I get to see the magic of the season through her eyes and it's such a
03:43 special thing. She also loves Elf on the Shelf and looking at Christmas lights
03:47 and watching our favorite Christmas movies. But guess what? An Elf on the Shelf, I know it's hard.
03:51 That time is fleeting you know so you gotta really cherish it. Or else like set the bar
03:55 real high at the beginning I've noticed and then I think they get tired and
03:59 things aren't as creative as the weeks go on. Right. But we have a lot of fun with it.
04:04 Absolutely. What are your holiday plans by the way because I feel like you're that
04:08 mom that goes all out. There's like a trip here, a trip there, then we're home
04:12 for gifts. I love to host. I love to cook. I love to have people into my home which
04:18 is why this was also such a perfect partnership with Glade. But I just want
04:21 to be around my family and stay in my pajamas and eat delicious baked goods
04:25 and really just soak it in and make memories. And wear matching jammies. I
04:30 mean the whole thing. I feel like you are the whole holiday vibe and I am here for it.
