00:08 The first time that Silverchair performed live on television was back in March 1993
00:15 when they were called The Innocent Criminals.
00:17 They were appearing on the NBN telethon, NBN being the local TV station in their hometown
00:22 of Newcastle.
00:23 I happened to be on the judging panel of the overnight talent quest of the '93 telethon.
00:28 That's me seated alongside Miss Kim of Romper Room fame and her puppet sidekick Mr Doobie.
00:33 Now I must confess, I don't actually remember much about that performance.
00:40 Sorry, I know fans are going to be appalled.
00:43 But I do hope that I said something kind and encouraging like Mr Doobie would expect.
