00:00 Welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I'm Pete Quinnell.
00:09 Last week on social media, you may have seen a bit of an outcry from some fans over an
00:13 incident on that week's episode of Monday Night Raw.
00:15 And no, it had nothing to do with any of the stories going into Survivor Series or the
00:19 latest CM Punk tease.
00:20 CM Punk return confirmed, by the way.
00:22 During the episode of Raw, Michael Cole could be heard promoting the second season of Barmageddon,
00:27 a show on the USA Network.
00:29 But when he promoted the show, he mentioned that the show's host was Blake Shelton.
00:33 But there are actually two hosts on that show, the other being WWE Hall of Famer, the former
00:38 Nikki Bella, now going by Garcia.
00:40 Nikki Garcia has now done a new interview with NBC Chicago, Chicago, CM Punk return
00:45 confirmed, where she spoke about that snub on Raw and her disappointment.
00:49 "It's sad.
00:50 There's obviously a lot of things I could say about that.
00:52 I think more than anything it's disappointing because I don't see it happen with the men.
00:56 For some reason, with the women who are outspoken, and we've seen this with women in the past,
01:01 they just want to ban us."
01:03 Both of the Garcia twins have been outspoken against WWE since leaving the company, particularly
01:08 with their treatment of women.
01:09 And it does seem rather pointed that they wouldn't name Nikki as a host of the show
01:13 when there's a very natural crossover between WWE's fans and Nikki's appeal for the show.
01:18 Meanwhile, it is in fact Survivor Series on Saturday, CM Punk return confirmed, and as
01:22 has been the case since Collision's debut, that spells disaster for AEW at Sacrifice.
01:27 The ratings for Collision have tanked when put up against WWE's Saturday Night PLEs,
01:32 and that trend is sure to continue this weekend too.
01:35 But don't worry, AEW has the perfect solution.
01:38 This time, they're going to...move Rampage to be on Saturday as well.
01:43 What?
01:44 It's been announced that Rampage is being moved off of its Friday slot this week, and
01:48 will instead air immediately after Collision on Saturday 25th, meaning AEW has a three
01:54 hour block directly against Survivor Series.
01:57 Which is certainly...a choice.
02:00 Not a choice I would have made, but a choice nonetheless.
02:08 Collision is set to continue the Continental Classic tournament on Saturday, so maybe that
02:13 will take away those PPV buys?
02:15 But obviously not with a CM Punk return confirmed though.
02:18 Seriously though, if and big if.
02:20 But if CM Punk were to actually return at Survivor Series, while Collision's on the
02:25 air, it would be...it would be quite funny wouldn't it.
02:28 Following Full Gear's match of the Golden Jets defeating The Young Bucks and The Bucks'
02:31 completed heel turn, they finished up with being the Elite and filed a trademark for
02:35 Super Dick Party.
02:37 What that is I have no idea and I don't think I want to know, but it seems their turn
02:40 and frustration continues as they seemingly weren't backstage at Dynamite last night.
02:45 This is according to Brandon Cutler though, so, you know, pitch yourself.
02:49 But maybe they'll leave Dynamite altogether, they'll head on over to Collision, they'll
02:53 be colliders.
02:54 CM Punk return confirmed!
02:55 It's Thursday, you know what that means.
02:58 My review of the post-Full Gear episode of AEW Dynamite… in about 5 minutes.
03:07 The show opened on what will be the main focus of AEW TV for the rest of the year - the inaugural
03:12 Continental Classic Tournament, aka the GLEET 1 Climax.
03:17 The Climax referring to how excited Tempest is.
03:32 Excalibur ran down the rules, 12 competitors split into two round-robin blocks of BLUE
03:38 LEAGUE vs GOLD LEAGUE.
03:40 You get 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw in a 20 minute time limit match.
03:45 And the overall winner gets not just one, not just two, but three championships.
03:51 Tony, I think the belt situation's getting out of hand.
03:54 The first match saw Swerve Strickland beat Jay Lethal via stomp in about 15 minutes.
03:58 It was an odd one to start the tournament with.
04:01 Surely you'd want to open on an absolute banger, but this was a heel vs heel dynamic,
04:06 with a limited Swerve selling the effects of his Texas Deathmatch just four days prior.
04:10 And then that Strickland, fighting through injury psychologically, became the de facto
04:15 face.
04:16 Especially with Chicago liking to chant 'Who's House?'
04:18 I would've kept Swerve off TV for at least a week to sell the after effects of Full Gear.
04:23 The Chicago crowd did have a wholesome pop, though, when they realised about 5 seconds
04:27 in that MJF's entrance music was actually his mashup one with Adam Cole.
04:32 The Bro-Charchos were out there together, who, like any good double act, complimented
04:36 each other perfectly, even with their injuries.
04:40 One theory has been that The Devil has never been shown onscreen when Cole has been physically
04:44 present on AEW TV.
04:46 It's like how I've never seen Luke Owen and Hilary Swank in the same room.
04:50 I can't rule out they're not the same person.
04:53 But here The Devil interrupted Max's speech with Cole right there in the ring with him,
04:58 seemingly ruling out Adam as The Devil.
05:00 Which means we're back to CM Punk.
05:02 CM Punk as The Devil confirmed.
05:04 MJF even referenced Punk when Samoa Joe interrupted him, challenging him to a match on this very
05:09 episode with the line "you wouldn't be the first ROH legend I beat in Chicago.
05:14 Twice."
05:15 Joe declined, setting up what should be a great storyline for the next month.
05:19 He wants Max to be fully healed, so he has no excuses.
05:23 So from this point on, MJF is his property.
05:27 Which means he won't let anyone else lay a finger on him.
05:30 It's a great deal with the Devil trade off, and we'll hopefully now get that tense Joe
05:34 and Max partnership I wanted going into Full Gear.
05:37 This segment, by the way, has three more titles - with MJF having the AEW World Championship
05:42 and the ROH Tag Team Championships with Cole.
05:45 If Joe never vacated his belt, the ROH TV title would've been involved too.
05:49 And we got even more titles next - that's 9 titles in the first half hour - with International
05:56 Champion Orange Cassidy, FTW Champion Hook and ROH Pure Champion Shibata taking on 2.0
06:02 and Jake Hager.
06:03 It was quite a fun match, with Cassidy unveiling his Thanksgiving surprise - a returning Dan
06:08 Howzen who's been out with injury since March.
06:10 But the even bigger return was in his mind games with Jake Hager - the return of the
06:15 Purple Hat!
06:16 Yes!
06:17 It landed.
06:18 I love watching Shibata wrestle, him and Hook choked out both of 2.0 to win.
06:23 Cole might not be the Devil, but he sure was acting suspicious in this episode.
06:27 After almost overly persuading Max to honour his title promise to Joe, he shouted at Roderick
06:32 Strong that they're not best friends anymore backstage.
06:35 I actually felt bad for Strong in this moment.
06:38 Next sad.
06:39 Many people are saying that Swerve is the best heel in the business right now.
06:42 One of them's Pete.
06:43 He's wrong.
06:44 He's behind the camera.
06:45 I love Swerve.
06:46 I think he'll become a main eventer in 2024, but right now he's just a very close second
06:51 because Christian is on a heel run for the ages.
06:55 Following him running out on his own kids at full gear, he blamed Luchasaurus for their
07:01 chaos.
07:02 In an act of re-christian-ing, he recreated Luchasaurus in his own image as punishment,
07:09 renaming him Kill Switch.
07:12 Which is Christian's finisher.
07:13 But he fawned over Nick Wayne.
07:15 Nick should never get on his knees for anyone.
07:17 He loves Nick.
07:19 Nick shall be called the Prodigy.
07:22 Christian expertly performed the abusive dad character who plays favourites with his kids.
07:27 Vince McMahon to AEW confirmed.
07:29 We got yet another tease that Kill Switch will eventually turn on his dad because of
07:33 that treatment.
07:34 He protected Nick Wayne's mum after Christian had called her a terrible mother and said
07:38 obligatory dead husband lie.
07:40 So Christian pushed Kill Switch into her.
07:42 Mum bump.
07:43 Nick Wayne then got a chair for Kill Switch to do a concerto on his own mum.
07:49 For Copeland to make the save and hit a concerto on Nick instead.
07:52 Brilliantly not caring about Mrs. Wayne, who was crying heavily that her son had just had
07:57 his head caved in, while Copeland's there posing to his own music.
08:08 Maybe that'll involve her helping the patriarchy to beat Copeland at World's End.
08:12 Jey White beat Roosh in the second Continental Classic match.
08:15 Because everyone was banned from ringside, White had to cheat another way, hitting a
08:19 low blow behind the referee's back.
08:20 They worked really well together, but the heel vs heel dynamic never got the crowd super
08:25 invested.
08:26 In Tony Storm's best Timeless segment so far, RJ City and Renee presented the AEW Women's
08:32 Championship Tour like it was the Academy Awards.
08:35 Complete with Tony sitting in the crowd when her name was read out.
08:39 A thank you to studio boss Jack Warner, dead for 43 years.
08:42 And a great line for all the little girls out there who want to be her.
08:46 You'll never replace me.
08:48 Sky Blue interrupted the ceremony with her entrance, potentially starting a title feud
08:52 there, where she went into a three way match against Anna Jay and Ruby Soho.
08:56 They worked well together, but the match was overshadowed by the romance storyline between
09:00 Soho and 2.0's Angelo Parker at ringside.
09:03 All that distraction let Blue beat Anna Jay.
09:05 Wardlow nutted AR Fox backstage for giving him advice.
09:08 And the main event was a great back and forth tough bastard Continental Classic match between
09:13 Mark Briscoe and Jon Moxley.
09:16 Somehow the first time they've ever wrestled, Mox came in with a Full Gear loss chip on
09:20 his shoulder, and Mark continues to be a great babyface.
09:23 He kicked out a Paradigm Shift, so Mox hit a Stomp and the Death Rider to win.
09:28 A really good main event, the second in three weeks for Briscoe.
09:31 Hopefully he can start picking up some wins now, being the underdog comeback story in
09:36 the Gold League.
09:39 This was a very effective show building to World's End, with the Classic, Joe vs.
09:43 MJF and Copeland vs. Christian.
09:45 AEW Dynamite is 82%.
09:48 Now go watch us count down the 10 best Survivor Series matches of all time.
