The Commission announced debate plans in Texas, Virginia, and Utah, aiming for neutral forums. However, Democrats have Biden and Williamson, while the Republican list includes Trump, DeSantis, Ramaswamy, and Haley. Neither party has confirmed candidates, unprecedentedly delaying debates, leaving them in limbo.

00:00 In a year, the US gears up for its 47th presidential election, a big deal not just for America
00:06 but for the whole world.
00:08 The 2020 elections were a wild ride, full of fraud claims and loads of insults.
00:13 But guess what?
00:14 The signs for 2024 aren't great either, and it might be even more embarrassing than
00:18 before.
00:19 These upcoming elections could make the last one seem tame, and that's saying something.
00:24 The Commission of Presidential Debates has disclosed a plan for three presidential debates
00:28 in Texas, Virginia and Utah next year, along with a vice presidential debate in Pennsylvania.
00:34 The debates are scheduled for 16 September at Texas State University, on October 1 at
00:39 Virginia State University and on 9 October at University of Utah, whereas the vice presidential
00:44 debate will be taking place on September 25 in Pennsylvania.
00:48 But the catch here is that both Republican and Democrats have not announced who will
00:52 be the presidential candidate to debate in these debates.
00:55 In Democrats, the list is currently holding on on two big names, Joe Biden, who is the
01:00 46th president, and Marian Wilson.
01:02 But in Republicans, dear God, it is a big list.
01:05 We have Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, and much more.
01:10 Both remain uncertain about their choice.
01:13 This unprecedented delay in American history means no finalised candidate for the upcoming
01:17 debates.
01:18 And so, the prolonged uncertainty in the selection process is unparalleled in American political
01:24 history, leaving the debates in suspense.
01:26 Furthermore, it is still unclear whether if any Republican candidate will be joining the
01:31 debate or not.
01:32 The commission underlines the continuity of this tradition that dates back to the 1970s
01:36 and stresses the value of these debates in offering a fair platform for frontrunners
01:40 to discuss important issues.
01:42 Republicans, however, accuse the commission of being biased.
01:45 Last year, the Republican National Committee unanimously decided to prohibit its presidential
01:50 candidates from participating in forums organised by this commission.
01:53 They prefer the commission as biased, and so they say that they will find new and better
01:57 debate platforms.
01:58 And so, the candidate's actual attendance at the debate is uncertain despite the scheduled
02:03 time and venues.
