00:00 I just want to say a huge thank you to BAE for the work and the funding that they've
00:04 put into the development of our outdoor area. We've recently introduced a forest school
00:09 curriculum where the children have loved to explore the outdoor area. They've fully taken
00:14 ownership of this and they love foraging for sticks and finding the biggest worm I think
00:18 is the most important part for them. We've enjoyed some wonderful performances on the
00:23 stage but we can't wait to see the learning that happens for the rest of the year and
00:27 just again a huge thank you to BAE for everything they've done for us.
00:32 Give them a big smile everybody.
00:37 Yay!
00:38 Okay, can you just give me an overview of what you've got here, the early years outdoor
00:44 provision then?
00:45 Absolutely, so BAE have kindly funded the repair of some of the existing areas while
00:52 they're creating some new areas. So we've got a lovely fire pit area where the children
00:57 can listen to stories, we can light fires, we have some construction areas where the
01:03 children can enjoy building, dressing up, putting hard hats on and we've got a new
01:09 stage area where the children can dress up in different role play outfits. They can come
01:14 outside and recreate or create their own stories based on things that they've learnt inside
01:19 the classrooms.
01:20 And just how much is it going to benefit the young kids here?
01:23 Massively, it already has and we're already seeing the impact of the developments and
01:28 we're excited to see what learning comes in the future as well.
01:32 And do you know just how grateful I am to BAE for the help they've given?
01:36 Really really grateful.
01:37 Extremely grateful, yeah.
01:38 We've already seen a huge improvement in the children's communication skills, their social
01:42 skills, they absolutely love being outside and they're thoroughly enjoying their time
01:47 at Rickleton Primary School.
