00:06 Obviously, the period between Thanksgiving and New Year's is filled with merriment and
00:10 joy and celebration, but it's very easy to overdo things, especially when it comes to
00:15 food.
00:16 Raise your hand if you've ever been guilty of making too much food.
00:20 And as the Pope reminds us, we want to celebrate and have a great time, but in a way that respects
00:24 our environment and community.
00:26 In that spirit, here are four ways to reduce food waste.
00:29 Number one, plan ahead.
00:30 There are actually sites that help you calculate how many pounds of turkey or casseroles you'll
00:35 need for the number of people.
00:37 Number two, send your guests away with leftovers, and I'm sure they'll be so thankful for that.
00:41 Number three, you can share with the elderly or other homebound neighbors.
00:44 Number four, put the freezer bag as your friend.
00:47 Bonus tip, while you're already out grocery shopping for your Thanksgiving meal, pick
00:51 up some extra cans for your local food pantry.
00:53 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the Alatea team.
00:56 We are grateful for each and every one of you.
