00:00 As the saying goes, they're not like they used to be. Yes, there are a lot of missing
00:05 nightclubs from a bygone era. These nightclubs have become legendary.
00:12 We've got to start off with Batley Frontier, which opened its doors in 1967, hosting the
00:19 likes of Shirley Bassey and Jane MacDonald over the years. The club has sadly closed,
00:26 but then there was also the majestic of recent times in Leeds, which is now the Channel 4
00:33 headquarters. You've got Bar Bar in Balansley, as well as Casanova's in Wakefield. Then there
00:39 was Kiko's in Pontefract and of course Esquire's in Sheffield.
00:45 And when we parked up in Scarborough recently, a parking warden stopped us, fortunately not
00:51 to give us a ticket, but to share some of his memories of Yorkshire and places to go
00:57 in Scarborough, as well as some of his former favourite clubs across the region.
01:02 Definitely the Frontier at Batley, Mr Craig's in Leeds, Ritz's in Leeds, Chinese Whisper's
01:09 in Baransley, Rooftop Gardens, amazing. Also, Rotter's in Doncaster.
