00:00 The Supreme Court have been very clear that sending asylum seekers to a third country
00:05 for processing just like they do in Australia for example is lawful. But they did have some
00:10 concerns about the Rwandan institutions. We have been working with Rwanda for the last
00:15 15 months to ensure that we can address the concerns of the Supreme Court and this new
00:20 treaty with Rwanda will help alleviate those concerns so we can move forward with the policy.
00:26 Likewise in Parliament we will be introducing legislation to make clear that we regard as
00:31 parliamentarians that Rwanda is a safe country. And the overarching principle that guides
00:36 us is that we want British parliamentarians to decide who gets to come into this country
00:43 and who doesn't rather than foreign judges.
