00:00 >> I mean, this team has bounced back and forth some this year with offense and
00:04 defense and even special teams at times taking the lead, and
00:08 being the focal point of the game.
00:10 Do you all talk about that, picking other people up and saying, hey,
00:15 it's our turn to go out there, kind of set the tone in the game?
00:20 >> Yeah, definitely.
00:20 We always talk about, well, Coach Brown always talk about us playing team
00:24 football, and just, whether offense playing a good game or
00:29 defense playing a good game, and special teams playing a good game.
00:31 We just try to tie it all in together.
00:33 Whether it's defense pinning them inside the ten, and
00:37 field position on special teams, and then offense converting to a score.
00:44 So it's just like- >> You all are excited when it's you, but
00:48 on the sidelines, you watched the running game do what it did today.
00:50 What's that emotion like for the defensive guys?
00:54 >> You mean us, how we were- >> Yeah, watching and saying, wow,
01:00 man, the offense is- >> Yeah, I mean, it's great on defense,
01:04 watching them run the ball like that, cuz we're scoring points, so it's great.
01:08 >> I believe when that's going on,
01:11 you know how much Cincinnati likes to run the ball.
01:14 How beneficial is the play for them, with a lead from basically starting to finish?
01:19 >> Yeah, I mean, it's very beneficial.
01:21 It kind of gets them off schedule.
01:23 They can't run the ball as much as they want to, and they fell behind.
01:26 They had to throw the ball a little more, so
01:27 it's not really what they wanted to do coming into the game.
01:32 >> What were the keys against Cincinnati's early game?
01:35 Cuz they're one of the best aggressive teams in the country.
01:40 >> Really, just us just playing hard and just the front seven just fitting in,
01:47 everybody being in the gaps, and everybody just doing their job for
01:52 the majority of it.
01:54 >> There were a couple of times where you guys would sub out the entire
01:59 defensive line to get four of your guys in.
02:03 How much of a benefit is that, where you get four completely fresh guys,
02:09 and production-wise, it's not really a drop?
02:13 >> Yeah, I mean, it's great playing linebacker,
02:17 cuz you always want your D-line to be fresh and move fast.
02:22 So when they stay fresh, and they can just come in and rotate, and
02:25 everybody just can play, it's great.
02:31 >> How tough is it when you're honored for the game, flip and switch,
02:35 from kind of the emotional perspective looking back to try to focus on
02:39 the present then?
02:40 >> Yeah, it wasn't that hard for me, honestly.
02:45 It was emotional, it being senior day and things like that.
02:49 But we had a game to play, so I was ready to go.
02:53 >> What does it mean to you to not only win on senior day and
02:58 having one of the better performances of the year for the team, but
03:00 also to do it on a day that legendary coach is being honored and
03:04 having his name on the stadium?
03:06 >> It meant a lot.
03:08 Coach Brown had told us that was going on today, earlier in the weekend.
03:14 Of course, we wanted to send the seniors out off right with a win.
03:18 And then especially since Coach Neal was getting honored,
03:22 we wanted to get a win for him.
03:24 >> How important is it for you guys to finish five to one?
03:31 >> It was very important.
03:32 I mean, it was something that we talked about at the beginning of the season.
03:36 If we wanted to be a good team and
03:41 just even continue, we had to win at home, so.
03:45 >> Since the night has been playing two quarterbacks,
03:51 I'm sure you've prepared some for both of them.
03:53 When one or the other comes out, change a little bit of what you all are doing,
03:57 what you're looking for, and you all point that out.
04:00 And how do you feel you did in adjusting when they switched key base?
04:05 >> No, we really didn't.
04:06 Nothing really changed on far as on our end is from the game plan,
04:11 cuz I mean, they're both like similar type quarterbacks.
04:14 I mean, they're both mobile quarterbacks, man, so we just played.
04:19 We just went with the game plan, we just played.
04:21 [BLANK_AUDIO]
04:25 >> Okay, anything else for Lee?
04:27 All right, thank you very much.
