Jaki Whitren - album Raw but tender 1973

  • 9 mesi fa
Beautiful debut album by the 19 years old Jaki Whitren from Southampton, Hampshire. The album is a collection of banjo-plucked, country-tinged folk-rock-blues featuring members of Matthews Southern Confort and Fotheringay, as well as guitar legend Albert Lee. In later years Whitren devoted herself to her personal and musical relationship with husband and fellow musician John Cartwright in a more avant-garde jazz direction. Beautiful voice, as the titles says, raw but tender.

New horizon.
Oh, little boy.
A little bit extra, please.
Country life.
To a friend, through a friend (let your feelings burn).
But which way do I go?
Give her the day.
Ain't it funny?
I've thought hard about you.
As the evening sun goes down.
Human failure.
Running all the time.
