00:00 Tragically for us in the free world, President Biden and his foreign policy and defense teams
00:05 refuse to come to grips with the growing threats we face around the world.
00:10 Hello, I'm Steve Forbes and this is What's Ahead, where you get the insights you need
00:17 to better navigate these turbulent times.
00:20 When the Biden administration took office, it came with dangerous delusions about the
00:25 world.
00:26 It believed that the leaders of Russia, Iran, and China were at heart rational people with
00:32 whom we could cut mutually beneficial deals.
00:35 Worse, it thought you could practice effective diplomacy without a strong military.
00:41 Despite shocking events since Joe Biden took the oath of office, his administration still
00:47 doesn't grasp that powerless diplomacy is dangerously counterproductive.
00:52 Appeasement doesn't work.
00:54 It invites ever more trouble.
00:56 The time for fantasies of a world that resemble Mr. Rogers' neighborhood is over.
01:01 The time has come to make hard, reality-based decisions.
01:05 Putin must be defeated in Ukraine.
01:08 The atrocities Russia has committed there are as ever-bit as dreadful as what Hamas
01:14 did on October 7 against Israel, including the kidnapping of literally tens of thousands
01:20 of children.
01:21 The big difference is that Hamas gleefully videotaped its crimes for all the world to
01:26 see.
01:27 Putin hasn't hit his goal of effectively recreating the old Soviet empire and making
01:33 Moscow the dominant power over Europe.
01:36 That means controlling Ukraine, reconquering Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, all members
01:42 of NATO, and moving on Poland, the linchpin of Central Europe and another NATO member.
01:48 Tightening his grip on Belarus and ending the independence of Moldova and Georgia.
01:55 Ukraine could have expelled the Russian invaders last year if it had been given the necessary
02:00 weaponry.
02:01 Kiev should be provided these weapons now to get the job done.
02:05 The White House should also come to grips with the necessity that the only acceptable
02:10 outcome in the Middle East is Israel totally destroying Hamas.
02:15 The humanitarian crisis is a deliberate tool of Hamas.
02:19 The quicker it is annihilated, the faster aid can come to the civilians there.
02:23 Biden's call for a ceasefire plays right in the hands of Hamas.
02:28 This gets to Iran, which is irreconcilably opposed to us.
02:33 It wants to control the Middle East.
02:35 It wants to be a revolutionary global power with nuclear weapons.
02:40 It wishes to obliterate Israel.
02:42 The implication here is unavoidable.
02:45 Iran's nuclear program must be destroyed.
02:48 This should have been done years ago.
02:51 Biden officials must also get real on China, which means, among many other things, moving
02:57 fast to build new submarines and other necessary weaponry, and aggressively patrolling the
03:03 South China Sea, thereby reaffirming a 200-year-old core principle of American foreign policy,
03:10 freedom of the seas.
03:12 I'm Steve Forbes.
03:13 Thank you for listening.
