00:07 Autumn's the second season and we've had another in Yorkshire this week with
00:11 departure of Matt Taylor at Rotherham United.
00:13 It's hard to not feel a little bit sorry for Matt.
00:16 He had a hell of a lot to contend with,
00:17 especially in terms of injuries at the back, especially.
00:21 But foam counter against him, it culminated in his dismissal
00:25 in the aftermath of last weekend's heavy five nil defeat at Watford in the championship.
00:32 Away foam has been a real bugbear for Rotherham, not just this season, but
00:36 in the past year really.
00:37 And you have to go back to, I think it's November 2022 for
00:41 their last away success at Bramall Lane.
00:45 So that's counting against Taylor in the end and
00:47 obviously Rotherham have only won twice in their only 16 games.
00:50 And attention's now turning to Taylor's successor and
00:55 Rotherham have a big home derby against Leeds United on Friday week.
00:59 And it's looking at the minute as if a caretaker management team will take charge
01:05 for that one, Wayne Carlisle, Taylor's assistant at Rotherham is still
01:10 at the club alongside a couple of coaches.
01:13 Rotherham plan to use the time wisely.
01:15 They've had some good interest from senior and experienced championship figures.
01:21 And having had a chat with Tony Stewart,
01:23 I think that's the rule that they're going to go down.
01:26 They're gonna compile a short list of some quality applicants and
01:32 then whittle it down and start the interview process with a view on an appointment,
01:36 which is likely to be sometime after the Leeds game.
01:41 Plenty of runners and riders in the picture.
01:43 Steve Evans is an interesting one.
01:45 He's obviously had success at Rotherham United before.
01:48 He took them to back promotions in 2012, 13 and 13, 14 and
01:54 then kept the club in the championship the following season before
01:58 departing early in the 2015, 16 season.
02:02 There's some levels of interest in Steve and he's a candidate that's been moved here,
02:07 but there's plenty of others as well.
02:09 Promises to be a big decision for Rotherham United's board and
02:13 Tony Stewart and all the indications are at the minute.
02:16 It's certainly going to be someone with experience as opposed to a candidate from
02:21 the lower divisions who's younger and showed initial promise.
02:26 So watch this space.
