The leader of Britain's opposition party Keir Starmer suffered a rebellion in parliament on Wednesday after a vote on a Gaza ceasefire was defeated by 125 votes to 293 - 56 of his MPs backed the motion.

While Starmer was in favour of a "humanitarian pause," he argued a ceasefire would give advantage to Hamas.
