THANKSGIVING is in theaters Friday, November 17th, and to ensure “there will be no leftovers”, here are some bloody good “hacks” for smooth holiday planning.
After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the holiday. Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister holiday plan. Will the town uncover the killer and survive the holidays…or become guests at his twisted holiday dinner table?

00:03 I've got plenty to be thankful for.
00:06 My needs are small.
00:11 I buy them all at the 5 and 10 cent store.
00:15 That was a look at the new horror film, Thanksgiving.
00:20 And we are talking with our spooky BFF, Brittany Coco,
00:25 about how to make sure your Thanksgiving doesn't
00:28 turn into a horror movie.
00:30 Oh my gosh, Brittany.
00:31 So we were talking earlier that there are obviously
00:34 Halloween spooky movies, and there are even
00:36 some Christmas spooky movies.
00:38 But this is kind of the first Thanksgiving scary movie, right?
00:42 I am so excited.
00:43 I think it's the very first one that I've seen.
00:45 And I love the tagline, there will be no leftovers.
00:49 That is-- that's spooky right there.
00:51 But you are our spooky BFF, like I said.
00:54 And you have tips for us for our Thanksgiving dinners,
00:58 our Thanksgiving day, so that it all goes a little smoother
01:02 than a horror movie.
01:03 Exactly.
01:04 We don't want a nightmare on Thanksgiving.
01:06 I love it.
01:07 The biggest tip that we came up with
01:09 was the turkey, which is obviously
01:10 the main event of the show.
01:12 So to save on prep time, you want
01:14 to take your Thanksgiving turkey out.
01:16 For every four pounds, you want a day
01:18 for it to defrost in the fridge.
01:19 Oh my gosh.
01:20 OK, so you have to have that turkey sitting
01:22 like a horror movie.
01:23 You have to have just a dead body, a dead turkey sitting
01:26 in your sink, I guess, for a couple days.
01:28 I think I put mine in the fridge on Monday.
01:30 In the fridge.
01:31 OK, gotcha.
01:32 You defrost it in the fridge.
01:33 Perfect.
01:34 Couple days ahead.
01:35 OK, what else can we do?
01:37 Say it's the day of.
01:39 How do we make sure things aren't starting to go awry?
01:41 So first thing in the morning, you
01:42 want to make sure that all of your cooking utensils
01:45 are ready for you to go.
01:46 Your sharp knives are ready to carve up the turkey
01:48 and everything like that.
01:49 Maybe cut down on some prep time by having
01:51 your pies made ahead of time or pop into your local bakery
01:55 and get your favorite pies.
01:56 Save some time that way.
01:57 Absolutely.
01:58 And you know what?
01:59 I think getting pies that are from somewhere.
02:02 You don't have to make them yourself.
02:04 You can get a pre-made pie because I
02:07 think that's kind of been--
02:09 people come to expect that now.
02:10 No one's expecting you to be in the kitchen baking
02:13 a bunch of pies.
02:14 Exactly, exactly.
02:15 So I love that tip.
02:16 OK, anything else?
02:17 Say you're starting to cook your turkey
02:20 and maybe things aren't going so well.
02:21 Yeah, so the biggest tip for drying out your turkey
02:24 is you can bring it back to life by actually drizzling
02:27 some chicken broth over it.
02:28 I never knew that before.
02:29 Yeah.
02:30 Bring it right back to moisture.
02:31 Oh, see, I love that.
02:32 So actually, my mom would always do it,
02:34 but with the juice there from the turkey.
02:36 But say it's too dry that you don't even have that.
02:39 You can do something like a chicken broth.
02:41 What about like a vegetable broth, too,
02:43 or something else?
02:44 Would that work?
02:44 I think that that would work because for me,
02:46 personally, I put veggies on the inside of my turkey
02:48 while it's cooking instead of stuffing.
02:50 So I think that that would taste amazing.
02:51 OK, great.
02:52 So you have a couple options.
02:53 So grab that chicken broth in the pantry,
02:55 or even if you have vegetable broth, just something
02:57 to kind of give it that moisture.
02:59 All right, great.
03:01 Anything else for the day of while we're there
03:03 and we're kind of like, oh my goodness,
03:05 maybe things aren't going so well.
03:08 I think another thing that is most important
03:10 is your thermometer to make sure that that turkey is
03:13 cooked to perfection.
03:15 Anything above 165 and you're safe.
03:17 OK, yep.
03:18 OK, did you know that?
03:19 Above 165, that's how hot you have
03:21 to get the inside of the turkey?
03:23 No matter what the size is.
03:24 Didn't know that.
03:25 Really?
03:26 Something I learned, too.
03:27 That's so great.
03:27 No, I didn't know that either.
03:28 I would have assumed-- I mean, look, I'll be honest.
03:30 I do not cook a turkey.
03:33 But now I know if ever one day I have to because I did just
03:37 have my first kid.
03:38 So he's probably someday going to expect me to do that stuff.
03:40 Oh, heck yeah.
03:41 OK, so what about beverages?
03:43 Yeah, that's another time saving tip that we came up with
03:46 is just to take out any nightmares of creating
03:48 your own recipe.
03:49 Anything bottled, it's fast, it's easy.
03:51 Check with your guests, obviously,
03:53 to see what they prefer.
03:54 Bottled wine, beers, or some yummy apple cider.
03:58 And it's so easy that you literally just unscrew the top
04:01 and pour it out.
04:02 You don't have to be worried about trying
04:04 to come up with some crazy eggnog recipe
04:05 and things not going well.
04:07 OK, well, Brittany, tell everybody
04:08 where they can find more information on you
04:10 and all these great tips.
04:11 So you can find me on Instagram at the.cocoa.channel
04:15 or on TikTok at thecocochannel, all one word.
04:18 I love it.
04:18 Nice and easy.
04:19 All right, and while you're sipping on your drink,
04:21 you can be sure to watch the Thanksgiving horror film,
04:24 No Leftovers.
04:25 Cheers.
04:26 Stick around.
04:27 We got more mixed coming up after this.
