00:08 Kevin Ray here with another 2-Minute Tech Tip.
00:11 Today we've got the Quick Stems on the bench.
00:14 These are push-in field repair valve stems for your UTV tires.
00:21 All right, let's dive in.
00:23 Let's say you've torn your valve stem on a rock, a root, whatever.
00:29 It's leaking air, you're on the trail, and you need a fix.
00:33 That's where Quick Stem has you covered.
00:36 What we're going to do is--we've already simulated a flat tire.
00:41 We're going to remove the broken valve stem from the wheel.
00:46 Use a set of pliers, whatever you have available.
00:49 Cut it off with a knife if you need to.
00:51 We just need the stem gone.
00:55 And we'll push the rest of that broken-off stem into the wheel.
01:02 So valve stems come in a couple different standard sizes.
01:06 We're going to use Quick Stems .453-inch.
01:10 It's item number QS1.
01:12 You can find it on Amazon, Rocky Mountain, ATV.
01:15 A couple other online retailers have it.
01:17 This is what it looks like. It's a long stem.
01:20 They also sell a short stem, but it's not ideal for UTD applications.
01:25 All right, so we're going to grab our new Quick Stem valve stem
01:28 and slot it into the hole.
01:32 We're going to grab a 12-millimeter deep well socket,
01:35 anything that will reach over the entire valve stem,
01:39 and start tightening it down.
01:41 You're just going to go until it's snug.
01:44 You don't want to over-seat it.
01:46 Check it.
01:49 And then you're good to go.
01:50 You don't need another valve stem.
01:52 This is good for the rest of the life of the wheel and tire.
01:57 Once you're happy with your fix, go ahead and air your tire back up,
02:00 and you're good to go.
02:03 This has been a two-minute tech tip with UTVDriver.
02:06 Thanks for tuning in.
02:08 We'll see you next time.
