00:04 Let me tell you, I have had the most fun over the last week and you ask why?
00:09 It's this 2024 AMG GLE SUV that Mercedes dropped off at my house that obviously was born on
00:17 the track.
00:18 We're down here with Stephen Smith.
00:20 Now, Stephen, where are we at?
00:22 Tell us where we're at.
00:23 We're at Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale.
00:25 We're near the Fashion Square Mall near Ovaltown, Scottsdale.
00:28 There you go, because we want to make sure that everybody comes down here and sees Steve
00:32 because he's the guy to hook you up with one of these cars.
00:35 Let me tell you, these things are bad.
00:37 Right away, Steve, let's go ahead.
00:40 You jump inside.
00:41 I'm going to walk around front.
00:42 Grady, let's take a look at the front of this Mercedes.
00:44 The one thing that we really like is the aggressive stance on this.
00:48 Right up front here, you see the big dynamic cruise control sonar right here, but right
00:54 underneath there's a little camera.
00:56 This does have the surround cameras on it so you can see what's going on.
01:00 You notice it's aggressive all the way through.
01:02 It is an AMG enhanced inline six cylinder making 429 horsepower and 413 foot pounds
01:11 of torque that all equates out to the tires, the 21-inch tires on the side here.
01:17 Also AMG wheels we're going to see right here.

01:26 Again, this is performance orientated.
01:29 When you do that, you look up here a little bit further like we always do.
01:32 You see your side mirrors that do have the blind spot control on it as well as your signals

01:38 Steve, we really got some rocking stuff inside.
01:41 Tell us a little bit about that.
01:42 Absolutely.
01:43 The GLE 53 is 429 horsepower, about 413 foot pound of torque, which is unheard of for an
01:52 SUV.
01:53 It's really nice to drive units so that you can control the suspension, the engine management,
01:59 and the exhaust performance on the steering wheel without having to take your hands off
02:03 the steering wheel.
02:04 I have the screen up here for the vehicle and the engine performance.
02:08 This is the AMG performance screen here.
02:11 It shows you engine torque, foot pound of torque, PSI, horsepower in a performance driving
02:15 setting.
02:17 You have the bolsters in the seats to hold you in the place.
02:20 I don't know if you noticed the carbon fiber here.
02:21 It looks pretty nice as well.
02:23 Very much so.
02:24 In fact, the bolsters on the side seats, again, comes back to the performance of this vehicle.
02:28 You actually need those side bolsters as well as this handhold right here.
02:32 At least your passenger does because this thing corners like it's on rails.

02:37 Tell me a little bit about the dash.
02:39 The dash is pretty cool.
02:40 This is a touch screen so you can scroll through.
02:43 It also has off-road settings, which is pretty cool there if you end up doing anything on
02:46 the off-road.
02:47 It shows you your suspension and your drive units.
02:49 It's an all-wheel drive system so it has variable torque towards the different wheels.
02:56 Wireless charging for your phone.
02:57 One of the things I like to talk about, it's not necessarily an AMG feature, but it's pretty
03:00 cool.
03:01 We have augmented reality navigation.
03:04 What it is is when you're driving along in your navigation system, everybody's seeing
03:08 how the map comes up and the screen comes up, but it changes to a camera as you get
03:12 close.
03:13 Whatever you see in front of you is actually what you're going to see on the camera with
03:16 the overlay of your instructions.
03:18 What lane you should be in, what street you're on, all that features in the navigation system.
03:22 I just thought I'd mention that because even though it's not an AMG feature, it's pretty
03:25 doggone cool.
03:26 You know what?
03:27 I totally agree.
03:28 In fact, when it cuts to the front camera, all of a sudden you're basically in a video
03:32 game is what it looks like.
03:33 No.
03:34 It really is.
03:35 The animation is top-notch.
03:36 They really did an excellent job with this.
03:38 We like that for sure.
03:39 Let's go ahead and take a look in the back.

03:42 Now, one thing I notice about this too, it has a night package on it.
03:45 That tells me gloss black here, black up on top on the roof rack.

03:52 That's correct.
03:53 The black mirrors and the black inlays inside here with the brush limo in front on the wheels,
03:57 the high-performance tires.

03:59 The contrast cut on that.

04:01 Last but not least, the dual tips of the AMG, nice oval tips there with the black diffuser

04:09 That's all telling you about the AMG heritage of this SUV.

04:14 If you're looking for pops in sport plus mode, you should see the people look because an
04:18 SUV generally doesn't have a turbo pop like that.

04:22 Well, looking inside the back here, you see a cavernous area back here for luggage as
04:25 well as a full spare tire underneath there.
04:28 Whether you want to change it yourself or you actually call for the roadside assistance.
