00:00 Half my life I've been Doctor Who, which is quite extraordinary really.
00:04 I remember the very first episode. I was a law student in London.
00:09 I came back to my flat in Lancaster Gate and as I came through the door into the communal living room,
00:15 the opening credits of the first episode were coming up.
00:19 And I stood there leaning on the banisters and I was still there 25 minutes later when it finished.
00:25 And even though it looks laughable now by comparison in terms of what you're looking at,
00:31 there it was state of the art. And I was in my 20s and I thought it was absolutely wonderful.
00:39 Now the fans are running it. I mean Russell T Davies is a complete and utter fan of Doctor Who.
00:44 He's so excited tonight because he's meeting some of the other companions who he's never met before.
00:49 He's more excited than the fans out there. Someone comes from outside the world,
00:53 takes on the human form. He's a kind of a humble person who wants to fight for good and help humanity.
00:58 And that's what Doctor Who is. And lots of other religious characters are as well.
