When NSYNC made their return with the single "Better Place," many fans asked about whether or not a tour was in the works. Joey Fatone revealed that he also has hopes for some future live performances with NSYNC so that he can share the experience with his two daughters in an exclusive interview with Hollywood Life. Joey was chatting with HL about his partnership with body contouring treatment AirSculpt, when he spoke about the possibility of the boy band performing live.

00:00 Cool. So to start, what can you tell me about your partnership with AirSculpt?
00:04 Yeah, you know, they approached me with the, you know, I think they saw that I was probably not
00:11 looking the greatest or I want to maybe lose something. I think they felt that the kinetic
00:15 energy, maybe, I don't know. But they talked to me about the procedure. And I was like,
00:18 what the hell is this? Let's be real. And it's basically a luxury less invasive
00:24 lipo is the way I can really explain it in my brain, where certain areas of unwanted fat that
00:31 you can't really usually get rid of, whether you're working out or not. And first of all,
00:34 it's be real here for me, I hate working out. So I think for me, this is a nice, great jumpstart to
00:39 work out. And it and honestly, I feel that way already. And it's only been almost a month Friday
00:44 will be legitimately a month that I've had this procedure done. And it is pretty crazy. I ain't
00:50 gonna lie. It's it's you're awake during the procedure. Like I said, it's like the little
00:57 lily at the holes are like almost like a freckle size. Um, you're awake, like I said, you're just
01:03 numb, you just feel like pressure. It's crazy. It's it's one of the craziest things I've ever I
01:07 don't know if I would ever think I've been doing it. But you know, for people like for instance,
01:11 like a lot of males don't really talk about things like that, or don't ever are very openly about it.
01:16 The same thing with my hair. I mean, I've done I've gone I've gone done and I've gotten Bosley
01:20 done twice. And I've actually went to Turkey. I'm not afraid to say it. Not afraid at all. Because
01:24 hey, genetically, we lose hair. You know, genetically, we're not perfect. Not everybody's
01:29 perfect. And people just want to, you know, maybe fix things or nip tuck things or do things. And I
01:33 think that's, there's nothing wrong with that. And for me, I always wanted just something a little
01:37 bit to kind of kickstart, like I said, and to do this procedure was was awesome. I mean, I think
01:42 like I said, you know, Dr. Aaron Rollins was was awesome. Talk me through the whole thing. And
01:47 like I said, it was just again, I can't. It's funny to say it. You know, like, Oh, I'm an
01:51 advocate. And I do this. And it's great. And it's funny, because it is true. I mean, like, again,
01:55 the results of it are crazy as far as with only within a month of how the results have been. And
02:01 I mean, in my jawline, you can see even now. And the crazy thing is, you can't even see a scar.
02:05 Like, literally, maybe a mark or something you can see and I have like, like, not even a it's crazy.
02:10 It is crazy. That's awesome. You look great. How do you think after undergoing the procedure?
02:17 After 48 hours, fine, you know, you feel you feel numb. I mean, again, you're you do go through a
02:22 do a little bit of a surgery per se, it's procedure. So you know, you're, you're, you're
02:26 kind of like a little bit numb, but you feel great. You know, I don't I didn't feel bad. I
02:30 didn't feel like, you know, like groggy or something like that. I know a lot of people
02:34 want to do lipo, you know, they're in bed for months, you know, literally 48 hours, I was I
02:38 was up and out and moving around the neck, Lily the next day, because I went knows it I did it in
02:43 Miami. And there's the Brightline train that goes back and forth from Miami to Orlando. So I said,
02:48 hey, let's take the train. So I'm rolling over Miami. And then after the procedure, the next
02:52 day after procedure the next morning, I went back from Miami to Orlando on the train. And I was I
02:59 was fine. You know, that's awesome. Yeah, again, you feel a little sore. It is what it is. But
03:04 yeah, you're not it's not like, oh, I can't move. You're literally in the neck people like,
03:09 oh, what I'm like, I had a girdle on obviously, they put this compression thing on you got to put
03:12 on. It's kind of sexy. But yeah, this compression thing. But you're fine. Yeah, I mean, I was able
03:17 to move around. I was working, you know, within the next two, three days after that.
03:20 Nice, nice. Um, also to jump into something a little bit different. It's been about a month
03:26 since Better Place came out the first NSYNC song in over 20 years. What was it like getting back
03:33 in the studio together? Was it like a seamless transition?
03:36 Yeah, it felt like no time has passed. It was kind of like, hey, let's get in there and do
03:39 what we do. You know, really what it was. I mean, because we've, you know, even my all of us have
03:44 worked with each other in the studio producing one way or another. So it was just naturally been,
03:48 you know, just to be in the studio going, you know, producing the track that he does. I mean,
03:51 we did that even on our old albums, you know, the stuff that we did in the past, who was ever
03:55 writing or producing that album, they were in the room. So with with Justin being there was
03:59 kind of like riding a bike. It was like, hey, let's get in here and sing the parts. It's what
04:02 we got to do. Move on. Absolutely. And, you know, I'm sure that anytime there's like any sort of
04:11 NSYNC reunion, I remember the VMAs 10 years ago or when you guys were at Coachella, you know,
04:17 fans always are asking, is there going to be a new tour, a new album, anything, you know, and you
04:23 said that there isn't anything in the works for this one. But do you ever get tired of people
04:27 asking for it? Oh, of course, especially even now that I even did the air sculpt.
04:32 People like, oh, what are you doing? You getting ready? And I'm like, no, I'm actually just trying
04:39 to do it for me, really. You know, we it doesn't get boring. I mean, it doesn't get tiring. It's
04:43 just nice that people are still asking. Let's be real. If they if they're not asking, then
04:48 there's a little bit of a problem, I think, or they're not interested. Who cares? But,
04:52 you know, I think that for people that are, you know, that are interested in they're asking,
04:56 I don't think it's a problem. And I don't mind answering because of the fact that,
04:59 you know, hopefully soon I will get an answer for you. That's that's that's the thing that I would
05:04 like to say. I would love to give you an answer, whether it be yes, whether it be no, whether it
05:08 be I, you know, I hate saying I don't know yet, but it is true. I do not know at this moment
05:12 because we need to still sit down and have a meeting or have a talk. We haven't had that
05:15 conversation yet. So what you're saying is there's hope there is always hope. You know,
05:20 I'm a big Star Wars fan. You know, there's always hope. There's always a new hope in that matter.
05:26 You know, you never know. Instinct was like my first favorite band growing up. So that's like,
05:32 what you know, you guys are like one of those artists like I haven't gotten a chance to see
05:36 because I was too young then. And I want to appreciate that. And you know what? And I
05:41 understand how you're coming and where you're coming from, because you know what? I had that
05:44 same feeling, believe it or not, for my daughters. My kids have never really seen me perform within
05:49 sync. So for people that are fans and that have grew up listening to us, I feel almost the same
05:55 way. It sounds weird, but it is. It's true, because it's like I want to I want my kids to
05:58 see what I did. You know, they hear about it. They've seen about it. They never really. My
06:03 daughter was the only one that got a chance. My older one, she saw we did Coachella, you know,
06:07 with the four of us. But that was with Ariana Grande. And yes, it was great. But it was just
06:10 one song, really. And we didn't do like our show or our tour. So again, if we get a chance to do
06:17 it, I'd love to, just because the fact I would love my kids to see it as well. Absolutely.
06:23 So you kind of hinted at this, but so have there been talks about another song,
06:28 you know, maybe even just another one off? You know what? It's one of those things that we
06:33 haven't had that discussion either yet. And I wouldn't for me personally, I don't even know
06:36 if I'd want to have it a one off. I mean, if it's if we're going to do if we're going to do more
06:39 songs to an album, definitely, you know what I mean? If we're going to do something, I understand
06:45 the other thing. I understand that nowadays it's not an album market anymore. It's a very singles
06:49 market. A lot of times you don't really have to put it, you know, EP or something very small.
06:53 A couple of songs. But for us, I mean, again, I don't know, maybe I just feel old school. I would
06:57 do an actual would love to do a full album or, you know, maybe just go on tour for a minute and
07:02 then maybe do it out later. I don't know. Again, if if everybody's opening to doing it, I think
07:07 it's endless of what we can do. You know, it's one of those things of whether everybody is in
07:13 their mindset to do it. Definitely. And obviously, you guys are all incredibly busy with, you know,
07:21 it seems like you guys all have so many different projects. Have you ever thought about doing maybe
07:26 like a tour or an album, you know, with, you know, maybe a couple of the members or a tour like
07:32 without Justin or something like that? How do you say that? I do a show a lot of times called
07:37 Joey Fritone and Friends, and I've done it over at the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot for Disney.
07:42 And I've done it to where it was combinations. This will be my I'm hopefully going to be doing
07:47 it again next year. They usually bring me back pretty much every year. Now, this will be my
07:51 fifth year, I believe. This is my fourth year doing it. But I've had Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass on
07:56 it and everyone on a do a couple of songs. Montel Jordan, Ryan Cabrera, MC Search from Third Base,
08:02 Nate Morris from Boys to Men. Gosh, who else have I had? A lot of local friends of mine that
08:09 have come out as well. So it's been it's been cool to do that. So now I've shifted gears. I'm
08:13 doing all the shows. I just did a show not too long ago in Tampa, which was kind of a 90s concert
08:18 myself and AJ from Backstreet Boys. So not so much doing group not doing so much of with my group.
08:23 However, we've been actually negotiating and probably gonna do their 15 city tour
08:28 next year coming up with myself and AJ to come out and do like a small, small theater kind of show
08:35 where it's kind of like a 90s throwback, a little bit of mixture of everything else. And it's kind
08:39 of those you never know what's going to happen kind of show. So you know, we're excited about it.
08:43 You know, people came and saw the show that we did in Tampa, and it proceeded very well. So we
08:48 want to do more. So things like that. And you never know, come out there. You know, I've had
08:52 again, Lance could probably come on out. I've also had Chris come out. So you never know who's
08:55 going to come out for those shows. Absolutely. So a pivot. I don't know if this would be
09:01 sag. So if it's if it is, you know, feel free to just tell me I'll just give you the thumbs up or
09:07 not. But in more recent years, you've made a lot of appearances on impractical jokers.
09:14 That's not scripted. You're good. Good. Cool. Awesome. I thought so. But I wanted to make sure.
09:19 Are there any ways that you feel like your years being in a boy band kind of prepared you to be
09:26 able to riff with those guys? No, yes and no. Thank goodness. I was I did a lot of improv
09:34 back in the day in high school. I've actually done if, you know, people, of course, you know,
09:39 Wayne Brady was taught by the same drama teacher, Cameron Garreau, out of my high school, actually,
09:45 a great drama teacher, for that matter, when we first started getting into stuff. And a lot of
09:50 that stuff we started out and I did with her was improv. So, I mean, I think that's kind of the
09:55 skills of when I first started doing stuff like that. And then getting into it with them is even
10:00 an entirely funnier thing, I think. And, you know, as far as the very first time I ever did one of
10:04 the episodes, it was like, let's go in there, go for it. And you're like, OK, so like my improv,
10:09 my acting skills, everything kind of kicked in to go into that overdrive. And funny enough is I did
10:13 an episode hasn't aired yet. They'll probably be airing, I believe, in January or February ish
10:17 towards end of season 10 for practical jokers is I actually get punished. Oh, wow. They haven't
10:24 punished. They've never punished a celebrity for before. They've always brought people into some
10:29 of the segments that they do, but never punished. So they completely do a gauntlet of punishments
10:35 that they have gotten done to them. They do to me. Oh, wow. Not fun at all. I'll just say that.
10:42 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I just say that I end up with me getting a tattoo. I'll just end it there.
10:49 OK. Definitely curious about that. You know, and one of the things that I think is great
10:55 is you are hilarious on that show. You're you're so good, you know, and I know that you do so many
11:01 different things. Have you ever thought about pursuing like other forms of comedy, either,
11:06 you know, in like an improv setting or, you know, stand up or something like that?
11:10 Yeah, I mean, I've got I've got invited to do a lot of other improv shows, especially in L.A.
11:15 I just haven't had honestly the time to get into it and do it. I'd love to I'd love to get back
11:21 into doing stuff like that. I just haven't had a huge full time. I know I did. Who's line is anyway?
11:25 With Wayne, actually one of the episodes. But I'd love to. I mean, that's something that'd be
11:30 fun to do. I mean, why not? You know, the greatest thing about me is I just throw stuff on the wall
11:35 and see what sticks. And so far, no one's told me, hey, you suck at that, because if I don't,
11:40 I'm going to keep doing it anyway. So, you know, whatever practice makes perfect.
11:44 Cool. So my last you've you know, you've touched on so many things, but do you have any other
11:49 exciting projects coming up that we haven't touched on? You know, it's been it's been great.
11:54 You know, again, I've been very versatile in things that I've been doing. I just went and just
11:57 did a gateway for cancer research charity that I hosted that I'm going to be doing that again in
12:03 April with the Stephenson's, which is really exciting, which is a fight for cancer research
12:10 gateway fight for cancer research to be in April. I host that event. I'm going to be doing been
12:15 doing, like I said, the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. I'm actually performing over Formula
12:19 One coming up next weekend for Hilton. So it's great. It's a lot of different things that I've
12:24 been doing, whether it's been film, television or performing or, you know, doing television shows.
12:30 You know, there's a couple of the ones that are in the works that are coming out next year as well.
12:33 So I'm very excited. You know, certain ones I can say, certain ones I can't. But yeah, it's going
12:38 to be fun. You know, coming up next year is a lot more of the stuff is going to be coming. I'm just
12:41 very excited about it. And again, what I love to do is the stuff that I love to do has actually
12:45 been fun. And the things that I've been doing, I've been picking to do because I want to do them,
12:49 not because I have to do, which is great. Definitely. That's awesome. Well, Joey,
12:53 thank you for taking the time to talk. Do you have anything you want to add about project?
12:57 If anybody's ever interested in Aeroscope, check it out, dudes. Don't be afraid. Get it done if
13:03 you'd like. If there's a little unwanted stuff, dude, it's all good. No one's going to be ashamed.
13:07 No one's going to be upset by you. A lot of women get it done, too. So don't trust me. It's so funny
13:12 when I start talking, they're like, oh, my gosh. And guys sometimes like, how did you get that
13:16 Aeroscope? They'll start whispering. I'm like, it's OK, but they're embarrassed. I'm like,
13:19 don't be embarrassed. Who cares? You stigmatize it. Exactly. Awesome. Appreciate it, man. Thank
13:26 you so much. Have a good one. Thank you. Have a good rest of your day. You too. And James,
13:34 I added his one month post-op pictures to that Dropbox link. Oh, perfect. Thank you so much.
13:40 You're welcome. Thank you. Thank you. Have a good one. Bye.
