00:00 Are you always in this car now?
00:01 Arnie, I am the car.
00:03 I am D, your ultimate companion.
00:06 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most mind-blowing,
00:10 over-the-top cool concept cars released in 2023.
00:14 The Inception is not a real car. It's a concept, but it is full of real ideas.
00:19 Number 10. Mercedes CLA-Class Concept
00:25 To kick off this list, we've got a stunning EV concept from the German automaker Mercedes.
00:30 Both outside and inside, it's full of so many incredible innovations.
00:34 It is a stunning vehicle, and it also has many groundbreaking features that give us a look at
00:40 the electric and conscious vision of the upcoming electric vehicle family.
00:44 They've flexed their electric vehicle muscle already with their currently available line of
00:48 EQ cars and SUVs, but this compact sedan is poised to open up their EV selection even further.
00:54 Unveiled at the 2023 IAA Mobility Show in Munich, the CLA-Class Concept shows off a
01:00 stunning silhouette and has an estimated 466-mile range with a 235-horsepower,
01:07 single-motor rear-mounted power source.
01:09 Something that is particularly impressive is the range. Mercedes claimed that it would do
01:14 466 miles on a single charge. If that actually translates to the production version,
01:21 it would go further than any other EV on the market so far.
01:25 This CLA-Class Concept should offer class-leading performance along with luxury and style.
01:32 Let's just hope those uber-cool Mercedes TriStar pattern wheels and front grille
01:36 make the final cut when the vehicle is produced.
01:38 And when will you be sitting comfortably in the back of this car? When will you see this car on
01:42 the road? We're looking at market launch sometime in the first half of 2025.
01:48 9. Ram 1500 Rev
01:50 Ram might be last to the electrified truck game, but it's come in with a bang.
01:56 The Ram 1500 Rev, unveiled on the first day of the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas this year,
02:09 features rear hinge doors, a glass roof, a hard-to-miss full LED front grille,
02:14 and a few other nifty amenities that are sure to impress.
02:18 Like an estimated range of close to 350 miles, along with full towing capability.
02:24 The 1500 Rev is scheduled to arrive in fall 2024.
02:38 The Ram Rev is definitely a direct jab at Musk's Cybertruck, and we've got to admit,
02:43 we think the Ram is definitely better looking than the all-too-futuristic Tesla.
02:47 8. Sony Honda Afila Concept
03:01 It seemed only a matter of time before a high-tech company and an automaker truly
03:05 joined forces to make a viable automobile together. Well, the time has come, and Honda
03:11 and Sony joined to create the Afila brand. As of its unveiling at CES this year, their vehicle
03:17 has no name. But we have to admit, it looks pretty cool even without a proper christening.
03:22 Production is set to start in 2026, and the Afila brand car is scheduled to feature
03:34 45 sensors and cameras, as well as a partnership with AI company Qualcomm.
03:46 7. Porsche Mission X
03:48 Anyone who thinks electric vehicles will never rival internal combustion engines,
03:59 the likes of the Porsche Mission X should change their minds entirely. Developed with a downforce
04:05 that challenges the 911 GT3 RS and with a charge time two times quicker than that of the Taycan,
04:12 the Mission X's 900-volt system means this electrified porker is set to be the
04:17 fastest road-legal car ever to hit the Nürburgring. That is if the electrified hypercar ever goes into
04:29 production. Porsche hasn't released any other specific specs on the Mission X just yet, but
04:35 we have a feeling this super-quick EV will make a real-life appearance in the coming years.
04:41 6. Pininfarina Pura Vision
04:51 When a vehicle is inspired by a luxury yacht,
04:54 there's a good chance it's going to be pretty luxurious and large.
05:07 That is definitely the case for the Pininfarina Pura Vision concept that made its debut during
05:12 the Hoity Toity Monterey Car Week. Automobili Pininfarina describes the vehicle as an "electric
05:18 luxury utility vehicle" or an "e-LUV". The vertical muscle ensures a fantastic
05:24 proportion on the rear. Pura Vision is like nothing you've seen before.
05:29 Welcome to the future of automobili. While there aren't any solid details on
05:33 performance or specs, we do know that the Pura Vision features all types of doors,
05:38 including front hinge, rear hinge, and gullwing. Yup, all in the same design.
05:45 And the whole thing rides on massive 23-inch wheels. This Pininfarina really is a moving
05:51 land yacht. 5. Peugeot Inception Concept EV
06:00 If you thought the other cars on this list were futuristic-looking,
06:03 wait till you get a look at the latest to come from French automaker Peugeot.
06:07 The Inception Concept EV might just be one of the most space-age-looking vehicles we've seen
06:19 in quite some time. Featuring a hyper-square steering wheel that's more of a
06:30 tablet, as well as a fully changeable interior and a halo cluster in front of the driver that
06:35 cycles through necessary information on a screen, the Inception Concept EV looks like something out
06:41 of science fiction. With dual electric motors, the Inception doesn't just look fast, it is fast.
06:48 With 680 horsepower and the ability to rocket, quietly, from 0 to 62 mph in under 3 seconds.
06:56 4. Polestar Synergy Concept Now, here's a cool concept car that was born
07:12 from Polestar creating a contest calling on automotive designers to come together
07:17 and create something that not only tells an advanced technical story in a sustainable way,
07:22 but also captures out-of-this-world performance numbers. After a year of searching and submissions,
07:34 Polestar discovered their top three designers, two exterior, one interior, and the Synergy
07:39 Concept came to life. Only one version of the vehicle exists in a 1-to-1 scale,
07:46 and it debuted at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich. The design is nothing short of stunning inside and
08:00 out, but details about potential performance numbers or whether the Synergy Concept will
08:06 ever become a reality have yet to be revealed.
08:14 3. Lamborghini Lanzador Not only is the Italian automaker
08:19 embarking on its new sustainable emission-free future with the launch of the Lamborghini Lanzador,
08:25 but they are also hoping to create a whole new vehicle segment, the Ultra GT.
08:30 Planned for a 2028 arrival in showrooms, this GT 2+2 Full EV was unveiled at Monterey Car Week.
08:44 What they did was take that supercar shape, stretch it a little bit, lift it up onto stilts,
08:50 and create something that actually looks quite different to anything else we've seen before.
08:56 Featuring two electric motors that will give it over 1,300 horsepower and all-wheel drive,
09:02 the Lanzador promises to be every bit as Lamborghini as buyers would hope,
09:06 with a little something extra, like fully sustainable materials inside,
09:10 with seats made from 3D-printed, recycled fibers.
09:13 2. Porsche Vision 357 This gas-powered vehicle concept is a solid
09:41 nod to the very first Porsche that was designed and patented by Ferry Porsche himself, 75 years ago,
09:47 the original Porsche 356. Ferdinand's sports car dream became a reality that day,
10:04 and the Vision 357 is keeping it alive, with proportions reminiscent of the original 356,
10:10 as well as a color scheme that harkens back to the 1950s.
10:13 The 357 is a harmonious mix of nostalgia and futuristic features.
10:18 The Vision 357 is actually based on the current 718 Cayman GT4 RS,
10:35 and features a 4.0-litre flat-six engine. This concept may not be completely new,
10:40 but it certainly is an impressive addition to the German automaker's lineup.
10:44 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:57 3. Triumph TR25 This speedster concept from the British automaker
11:02 is truly a triumph in every way possible.
11:05 Audi Active Sphere Concept Shapeshifting design,
11:16 augmented reality, rear-hinged doors, full EV power, this Audi has it all.

11:46 1. BMW i-Vision D When a vehicle's name literally means
11:54 "digital emotional experience," there's a good chance it's going to be a pretty cool and immersive
11:59 ride. Oh, and did we mention that BMW's i-Vision D can also change its color scheme on a whim
12:16 and even has facial expressions via the front grille? That's right,
12:19 the i-Vision D is more than just a car, it is a digital companion for your journeys.
12:25 How do you like it? It's cool, it's like talking to my bestie.
12:28 Okay, bestie, let's hit the road.
12:30 D features augmented reality, a fully digitized interior, and a completely customizable exterior.
12:38 BMW even refers to D as a "she" and references her being more of a friend than a car.
12:44 This combination of software and hardware from the German automaker is truly a glimpse into
12:48 the future. So all BMWs will be like you in the future? That's our vision. I am part of
12:54 the BMW Group's strategy for the future. Ah, okay, so you're part of the Neue Klasse.
13:00 Yes, exactly. What's been your favorite concept car unveiling this year?

13:08 If Ferry Porsche was still alive, his ultimate vision of a sports car
13:12 might well look something like this.
