00:00 All right, gentlemen, we went over all the instructions
00:02 in the dressing room.
00:03 Your belts are both a little bit low,
00:05 so keep your blows here or above, all right?
00:07 Questions, questions, good luck, gentlemen.
00:10 - Thank you, Frank.
00:12 - All right, the lightweight paddle is ready to go.
00:15 We've been waiting for this at our main event.
00:17 Beto Duran, Pauly Malinagy, the former champion,
00:19 and Claudia Trakel's with you on the broadcast
00:21 here on CBS Sports Network.
00:23 Hidalberto Umana.
00:25 It was a weird start to his career.
00:27 It was during the pandemic in Mexico.
00:30 It was supposed to be an easy fight.
00:31 Pauly was a controversial fifth decision loss for the guy.
00:36 And then now he's ratcheted up 10 wins.
00:38 - Yeah, man, I mean, in Mexico it gets weird, though,
00:41 with the decisions, so I've seen some weird decisions
00:43 in Mexico when you're not from there.
00:45 - But then it's, like you said in our opening,
00:48 with some of these Cubans, they lose,
00:49 and then all of a sudden they turn it on.
00:50 - Yeah, yeah, I mean, but basically Ramirez did it
00:52 in his debut, and now he's a world champion.
00:54 All right, by the way, let's see if Umada
00:57 has turned things around the same way.
00:58 He's already done a 10-fight winning streak
00:59 since that pro debut loss.
01:01 - Yeah, and he's been sitting on his punches,
01:03 knocking people out.
01:04 For the last five, that ended early.
01:06 Seven KO's for the man in black, El Veloz Speedy,
01:10 to translate it to, loosely.
01:13 He's an interesting fighter, fun fighter to watch.
01:17 We've done a couple of fights here at the Caribe Royale
01:19 with Fox Lab Promotions.
01:20 He'll come in and start training with you,
01:24 and it's up to Encarnacion, who has experience,
01:27 has fought all over the world,
01:28 but is he an old 35 now?
01:32 He says he's not, but when you're going up against
01:34 a young stud like Umada, we're gonna find out quickly.
01:37 - Yeah, when you're going up against young studs
01:39 like this, at 22 years old, and they're snappy, fresh, quick,
01:44 they have a tendency sometimes to make you feel old
01:45 when you didn't feel old before the fight, you know?
01:47 So that's what we're gonna find out
01:49 from Encarnacion tonight.
01:51 Nice little feint there by Encarnacion.
01:52 He's gotta see if he can put Umada out of position,
01:54 and see if he can punch off those feints.
01:55 - Yeah, and you see this big size difference
01:57 as Encarnacion is the shorter fighter and wide.
02:01 - I'm gonna say it again, it's a night
02:07 of educated left hands here.
02:09 From the A-sides, you can see a nice educated left hand
02:12 on the part of Umada.
02:14 He turns it into a hook to the body there,
02:15 but he's got a nice snappy jab.
02:17 He also uses it to measure Encarnacion,
02:19 to measure that distance.
02:20 - Yeah, that snapping jab, he's been quick with it
02:23 here in the opening round.
02:24 - Also, he's circling around, you know?
02:26 Changing that range, changing that distance.
02:29 We'll see Encarnacion try to close that range
02:32 while he keeps him on the end of that jab.
02:34 - See the back of Encarnacion,
02:39 he's got those circles, and the cupping dutch.
02:42 At 35, you gotta get everything you can possibly get.
02:45 You gotta get the massage, you gotta get the cubby,
02:46 everything possible.
02:47 - You can't move with your hand.
02:48 You can't, that's old.
02:49 - You sure do.
02:50 - Box!
02:51 - Referee letting Umada know don't push down the head.
02:53 - And that's the end of Encarnacion,
02:54 upper cut from Umada.
02:57 Encarnacion does have power.
03:01 He's got 16 knockouts in his ledger,
03:04 but those were early on in his career.
03:06 - And also, it's his first time at 135 pounds.
03:08 Let's see if that power translates
03:09 to the higher weight class as well,
03:11 especially against a big lightweight like Umada.
03:13 - Well, as you get older, Paul, you know,
03:20 it's harder to make certain weights.
03:22 - Yeah, you got that right.
03:23 - Final seconds of the opening round.
03:26 - Harder to keep any weight at this age.
03:28 - Fighter or no fighter.
03:29 Our main event here in Orlando.
03:32 (bell ringing)
03:36 (upbeat music)
03:38,
03:43,
03:48 - When you're the leader in disaster cleanup
04:10 and restoration,
04:11 how do you make like it never even happened happen?
04:13 - Let it rain, Randy.
04:15 (water splashing)
04:17 - By being prepared for anything.
04:23 (water splashing)
04:26 - Whatever comes your way, there's a pro for that.
04:32 - Surf pro, like it never even happened.
04:35 - And there you see it,
04:38 our research staff and graphics putting it up.
04:40 He's knocked out his last two opponents
04:42 in the second round.
04:43 That is Ibalberto Veloz Umada.
04:47 Well, what happened here is,
04:51 the incarnation of his last fight,
04:53 he went the distance losing to Albert Bell in May.
04:56 He went 10 rounds.
04:58 The two fights before that though,
05:00 he got knocked out of the fourth round
05:02 by Tomoki Kameda in Japan.
05:05 And that was a fight at 125 pounds.
05:08 His last fight against Bell was at 130.
05:10 So this is the gradual progression
05:12 where he's now at 135 incarnation.
05:14 So his power was at 120s.
05:18 I don't think Umara has to worry about that.
05:20 Umara is now starting to take control here, Paulie.
05:24 Oh, uppercut to Umada.
05:27 - He's caught incarnation kind of reaching in.
05:29 And when you reach in with that overhand right,
05:30 you tend to fall forward.
05:33 And Umada stepping out of range
05:34 and then countering with that uppercut
05:35 into the falling forward of incarnation.
05:37 Incarnation shaking his head though,
05:38 saying, "Nah, nothing there."
05:40 - Yeah, he's shaking his head.
05:41 He's shaking his head because he got smacked in the head.
05:43 - Otherwise he wouldn't be able to say, "Nothing there."
05:46 - Right. - If he didn't get hit.
05:47 - He got caught with that hook.
05:49 Blows the snot out too.
05:51 Umada.
05:54 That's a big body at 5'10", 135.
05:57 That was one of the veteran fans behind us.
06:02 This is Puerto Rican accent, "Ya no quiere."
06:03 William Acronio, he said he doesn't want it anymore.
06:05 I think some of these punches from Umada
06:07 are starting to take a toll.
06:08 - Yeah, they're getting a little heavy.
06:10 And again, remember, we said before,
06:12 incarnation's never fought at 135.
06:13 So consistently taking the snap of these types of big shots
06:16 from the natural 135.
06:18 Oh, and you see incarnation got hurt there.
06:20 Nice snap on that shot on the inside of the elbow.
06:22 - And he got caught with that one.
06:24 - Going for the finish here.
06:25 - Incarnation is just trying to hold on.
06:26 Umada giving himself some room.
06:29 Incarnation in trouble.
06:30 Eating uppercuts.
06:32 He's up against the ropes.
06:33 - Oh, big uppercut!
06:36 And knocks him out!
06:38 - My goodness!
06:39 Umada has just KO'd Incarnation with a vicious uppercut.
06:44 - And if you look at that knockout,
06:47 he threw a wide right hand first,
06:48 and he noticed that Incarnation was dipping down low.
06:53 He threw that wide right hand
06:54 because he knew Incarnation was kind of hurt.
06:56 So he threw that wide right hand
06:57 when he trapped him on the ropes.
06:58 And then Incarnation got underneath it,
07:00 but he kind of stayed with his head dipped forward like that.
07:03 Very, give a lot of credit to Umada for understanding that,
07:07 seeing that, taking notice of that,
07:08 and adjusting and throwing the uppercut on the next punch.
07:11 If we're gonna get a chance to look at that replay,
07:13 Umada actually misses a right hand over the top,
07:16 first hooking right hand over the top,
07:18 'cause Incarnation's making himself
07:21 a small target underneath.
07:23 He goes over it, he said, "Okay, you're gonna stay there?
07:25 "I'm gonna shoot the uppercut 'cause you're giving it to me."
07:28 And sure enough, that was it.
07:29 - Let's look at the replay.
07:30 - See that right there, wide right hand there.
07:32 He notices it, he says, "Okay, you're gonna stay there?
07:34 "This time I'm gonna throw the uppercut."
07:36 And he fell right on his face. - Made the adjustment.
07:38 - That was timber right away. - Yeah, made the adjustment.
07:40 He saw that if he was gonna throw any hooking shots,
07:42 he saw Incarnation was looking to dip every second.
07:45 So he's looking to dip again there,
07:45 even though nothing came.
07:46 He's like, "All right, you looking to dip?
07:47 "Let me let you dip into this uppercut right here."
07:49 And that was all she wrote.
07:51 - Third straight fight that Umada has ended it
