00:03 - Well, I'll tell you, it's the show that we love
00:06 right here on AZTV 7, 7, 8, hour,
00:10 seven o'clock hour, eight o'clock hour.
00:12 It is, of course, Family Feud.
00:14 And I'm your man, Brad Perry,
00:15 standing in for my man, Steve Harvey,
00:17 as we welcome the Jaynes family,
00:20 who will be on Family Feud tonight.
00:22 And of course, they're from Arizona here,
00:24 and we're gonna meet them right now.
00:25 So here we have--
00:26 - Lindsey.
00:28 - Nicole.
00:29 - Monique.
00:30 - Steven.
00:30 - All right, and this is what's really great,
00:32 is that one of them here, we're gonna find out,
00:34 said, "Hey, you know what?
00:36 "Let's go on Family Feud."
00:38 - And that would be me, yes.
00:40 I'm the guilty one.
00:41 - What made you wanna go on Family Feud?
00:43 - So I received a casting email,
00:44 and I'm like, "Why not?"
00:46 And so we got contacted right away for a Zoom audition,
00:49 and we all dressed up in reindeer onesies,
00:53 did our Zoom call, and here we are.
00:56 - I love this.
00:56 And so let's make sure we know how the family works here.
00:59 So who is everybody related?
01:01 - So my sister, Monique, my brother, Steven, we're siblings,
01:05 and then this is my sister-in-law, Nicole.
01:07 - So I like it.
01:07 And then the captain of the team actually is a captain,
01:12 and so he's not here with us because he's--
01:13 - Correct, yes, my husband, Captain Crawford,
01:15 he was the captain of the family on the show,
01:17 and he's a real-life captain,
01:19 so he got called in to fly for the airlines today.
01:21 Unfortunately, he can't be with us.
01:23 - Okay, did you guys tell the backstory
01:24 of your family at all?
01:25 'Cause this is what's really interesting.
01:26 Does that help you get the audition?
01:27 - Probably, yes.
01:28 Steve Harvey loved the fact that my mother
01:31 was one of the original Playboy bunnies from Phoenix, Arizona.
01:34 She met my father, who was a diplomat from England.
01:37 She was working at the Playboy Club in Manila.
01:38 He was a diplomat in the Philippines,
01:41 and we grew up traveling the world.
01:43 We've lived in Africa, Pakistan, Switzerland,
01:45 England, Japan, now we're in Arizona.
01:48 We went to ASU and just fell in love with it,
01:49 so we're still here.
01:50 You're stuck with us.
01:51 - I love this.
01:52 Okay, as you guys are on the show,
01:54 and we can't give too much away,
01:56 I have to ask, was it nerve-wracking?
01:58 - It was extremely nerve-wracking.
01:59 - Take it around here and we'll apply that later.
02:00 - Yeah, I lost sleep for many days.
02:02 Yeah, and I still to this day cringe
02:03 over the answers that I get, so yes, it was.
02:06 - We have to do that.
02:06 All right, now, down here being, of course,
02:08 the brother here, how was it playing the game
02:11 with your sister, especially after growing up with them?
02:13 - Well, I have to say, based on some of the answers
02:15 that this one gave, I felt a little better
02:16 about some of the responses that I gave,
02:18 so thank you for those.
02:20 - Good for you.
02:21 - Yeah.
02:22 - And playing the game as a sister-in-law,
02:24 you, like, I mean, you're with the family,
02:25 but this was your opportunity to get out, you know that.
02:28 - Well, no, they were all good answers.
02:30 Everything that they gave were good answers, I would say.
02:32 I'm with this family for life.
02:34 - I like this.
02:34 Okay, so you did the Zoom interview,
02:36 and that's what people are wondering about
02:37 at home right now.
02:38 Okay, you do the Zoom one,
02:39 and then you're invited down to Atlanta,
02:41 but you said there's another audition there?
02:43 - Yeah, so they have to invite more families than needed
02:45 in case anyone bails last minute,
02:47 so they said, okay, you've made it to Atlanta,
02:49 but you still have to audition right before the show.
02:52 So we do our audition in Atlanta.
02:55 They're like, okay, James family, you're ready,
02:56 you're going on in five.
02:57 We're like, what, another audition?
02:58 They're like, nope, you're going live.
02:59 Steve Harvey's coming out, get up there.
03:01 We're like, what up?
03:02 It was so nerve-wracking, yeah.
03:03 - So did you get to meet Steve before you went on stage,
03:06 or was it more just like you're on,
03:07 then Steve comes and say hello to you?
03:09 - Yeah, he pretty much came on,
03:10 and he's so nice.
03:11 He got to know us as we're on there,
03:13 and he was so friendly, asking us personal questions.
03:16 Great guy, funny, very funny.
03:18 - I like it.
03:19 Okay, so now, this is a question I always like to ask.
03:22 Oh, and look at the picture.
03:23 Was there someone else on there?
03:24 Who was that picture of?
03:25 - That was my family.
03:26 They were on "The Feud" in 1984.
03:28 - Oh my goodness, so this is like,
03:29 pretty much a history-making again.
03:32 - Yes, multiple generations.
03:34 - So I know we can't talk about how you did,
03:36 but how did they do?
03:37 - They did very well.
03:38 They won, I think, two episodes,
03:40 and they went on for a third.
03:41 They feel like they were robbed on the third episode.
03:43 We still talk about it in the family.
03:45 - Wow, it's still there.
03:46 So they were really cheering you on to get back at it.
03:48 So I love it.
03:49 Okay, that's awesome.
03:50 Okay, this is the question I love asking the families,
03:53 and it's very important here,
03:55 and that is, who was the weakest link
03:58 that we need to look for on the show?
04:00 - Aaron, since he isn't here.
04:02 The captain.
04:02 (audience laughing)
04:03 - The Boncho!
04:04 (audience laughing)
04:06 - Aaron is not here.
04:07 But yeah, there's usually one family member
04:09 that you literally go,
04:10 oh my goodness, did you actually say that?
04:13 And that's your husband?
04:15 He's the captain.
04:16 - He was actually probably the strongest of the Boncho,
04:18 I feel.
04:19 - We all had our moments.
04:20 We all had our moments.
04:21 - I was the weakest link, for sure.
04:23 I will be the one.
04:24 - Well, we'll see tonight what you can see,
04:27 which is really cool.
04:28 But how nice is that?
04:28 Are you guys having a watch party?
04:30 Anything going on?
04:30 - Yeah, we're gonna have a watch party at our house.
04:32 - Are you, everybody's coming over there?
04:33 So there you go.
04:34 Well, I'll tell you, you can catch the James family tonight,
04:36 eight o'clock on Family Food,
04:38 right here on AZTV Channel 7,
04:40 the station that is all good.
04:41 And you can cheer them on and see how far they get.
04:44 We can't tell you.
04:45 But let's just say they're here with us,
04:48 meaning they've been somewhere else.
04:49 That's all I gotta say.
04:50 I don't wanna say anything more.
04:51 That's what you gotta do.
04:52 So congratulations, you guys.
04:53 That's even great making it to that far.
04:55 And so, and again, being on there.
04:57 So thanks for coming in.
04:58 - Thank you so much.
04:59 Thank you.
05:00 - All right, hey, come on back.
05:01 We got more of the mix after this.
