Heroic Cop Rescues Blind Dog From Drowning In Pond

Credit: SWNS /  NYPD  A heroic cop rescues a blind dog from drowning in a pond.  A video recorded by a police bodycam shows one officer wading through cold water and finding the dog, which appears to be stuck in reeds.   The distressed pooch was then brought ashore by the officer.  Sparky, an eight-year-old border collie, had fallen into the pond in Baisley Pond Park, New York City.   The New York Police Department received several 911 calls reporting the incident, with the first call coming at 8:18 am.   Officers Williams and Esposito of the NYPD's 113th precinct were at the scene in just minutes and both officers jumped into the pond.   Sparky was taken to a local veterinarian and reunited with its owner largely unharmed by the incident.
