00:00 Chad, statistically the best rushing game since you guys have gotten here this past week, but from a coaching perspective
00:07 Was it the best rushing attack? And if not, where can you get better?
00:11 It was the best rushing attack since we've been here and
00:15 We can still get better
00:18 Better in sense for example, uh, and I'm pretty sure he told y'all this
00:24 Jehan white he was shocked to be in and that amount of space one-on-one with a safety that he can he can make missing the
00:31 phone booth little and he's done that time and time again since he's been here and
00:35 He should have made that guy missing went for 96 yard touchdown run
00:38 but it was a
00:41 Best game since we've been here testament to the guys up front chemistry
00:45 They had and preparation they put in his testament to those running backs would I thought they had a great week of practice?
00:50 similar game press rest later game like reps
00:53 I
00:55 Press in the block and being patient and not getting too far out ahead of his blockers
01:00 I guess the last part of that is once he gets out open
01:03 Yeah, no doubt and I tell you it's a
01:07 It kind of goes both ways
01:10 It's tough. He's I can fall camp. You know, he's so fast and he has the kind of speed that can break contain
01:16 and you know, he's done that a lot and then fall camping is at times he's
01:22 He's broke contained and it's been not a good run or tackle for loss
01:26 But then it's been more times where he's probably broke contain the score touchdown. It's like
01:29 You know, of course the way I wouldn't show him that if I was you and you just tell him, you know
01:34 He's kind of the fine line. You don't take away his creative ability
01:36 Just kind of let him learn through reps and you know result of the play that's happening in fall camp and then throughout practice and hopefully
01:43 No, it's a game, you know prove it game goes on he gets more rest
01:46 Which he's got he can see a little better make better decisions. He had a run way broke contain the other
01:52 Saturday night and he was able to explain said coach I was going I
01:54 Started that one to hit it in there and it would have been a right read but I saw that color
01:58 I thought I can get outside
01:59 So when you when they can see it like that, you know, I mean that that's huge, you know
02:03 Cuz one thing you don't want to be a takeaway with a kid like that
02:05 It's his creative ability to make plays and so that's one of the better things I've done as coaches
02:10 You know not allow him to go out there play play scary to do what he's capable of doing
02:15 Get him and Donaldson maybe a little bit on the field at the same time
02:19 That was a plan early on and CJ got stepped on with his foot and he was uh, he was out for a while
02:28 But that was a plan
02:29 Going into that football game
02:31 That's in the hip pocket and we end up not needing it
02:34 We're actually gonna try to save it for a second half, but didn't need to
02:42 No, it's huge man and it's testament to those guys at receiver they've been consistently making plays down the field
02:48 The old line and then backs have done a great job
02:51 you know creating a great pocket and keeping Garrett clean allowing him to
02:55 sit back in pocket and go through his progressions and and like I said
02:58 those guys done a great job making plays down the field not only just the
03:01 The easy catches, but they've also done a great job making contested catches
03:05 So that's huge testament those guys and and I talked about that early on the season, you know
03:09 Once we kind of you know open an offense a little bit in terms of you know
03:13 Being a pass about what we need to pass the ball
03:15 It'll keep defenses honest and keep safe side of the box and those guys have since the Houston game
03:21 Have been consistent doing that
03:23 But what kind of advantages for you to have two running backs that are both clicking now
03:35 But very different like CJ and Jaheim now are almost polar opposite running backs
03:40 One being smaller and shifty and fast the other one just being big and muscular
03:43 What kind of advantage is that versus just having two really good running backs and maybe you're similar?
03:49 Huge man, cuz it's two different style of running backs to prepare for
03:52 Probably two different style of backs that you don't really have on the look team
03:56 Versus you know at opponent school that they can prepare for and also the advantage in a sense where both those guys have tremendous ball skills
04:04 So when they're even when they're at times when they may be gonna feel at the same time where they're fleshed out
04:08 Why you got to honor that like you can't just go put a linebacker out there with third a ball to him
04:13 Because they got the ability to be the running routes and catch the football and I tell you where the jeans grown
04:17 Huge - and he did a great job if you guys saw that he picked up a blitz the other day
04:22 We can leave him on the football field now on third down
04:25 You know, it's funny cuz uh, somebody asked me a day. He's small. He's just short. He's not small
04:31 You know, he's a hundred ninety-five pounds. So he's strong. So it's huge advantage for those guys having the versatility be reflects out
04:38 You know
04:38 It's hard to prepare for both those guys having ability to be able to hit it up in there and between tackle boss ability hit
04:44 The big one and also been able to pick up blitz third down
04:58 Man no doubt those those are CJ's three negatives and that play those three passes and obviously, you know
05:04 I get on all the time you use a tight knee and you supposed to catch football
05:07 She no coach. I'm I was not a tight end. I was a receiver
05:09 See even even worse catch the football, but now you know definitely work on that
05:13 He's got to get his hands ready and inspected, you know, he was doing a great job chipping
05:17 You know, they had some high motor defensive ends that you know rest of passes
05:20 So he was doing a great job chipping and he's just got to be having his hands ready to catch the ball
05:25 I mean as far as you know other things in the offense say one more time if that's working if you got that work out
05:33 What does that do for the rest of the offense?
05:35 No, that's huge
05:36 It opens it, you know allows us to be able to do what we thought we could do coming into this
05:40 Coming to the season be explosive running the ball be explosive catching the football and makes it hard for us to defend
05:51 Back to your offensive line at the beginning here. They lived up to what you expected better worse
05:56 We're better better. I said from the beginning
05:59 Lucas of this offense attack was those guys up front from left tackle the right tackle and
06:03 You know, I'm always talking about the chemistry of those guys, you know, those five guys, but you know
06:09 It's just chemistry much the whole group, you know, we've had some injuries up front and you got guys like to Quay Hover
06:14 Who's come in and you know, we had mr. Beat guys like Nick Malone is coming and we had mr
06:20 Beat so the chemistry of those guys up front is huge and the physicality and the toughness
06:25 The relentlessness in which they play with man. It's just it just trickles throughout the entire offense
06:31 It makes everybody else play that way and we're on as good as those guys. We talked about last week
06:36 you know it being strength on strength versus those guys turns physicality toughness and
06:40 You know those guys who are out there and then they dominate it, but those guys make us go
06:45 traveled in their information
06:57 Does that get affected much when you have somebody else like Doug Nester?
07:02 I know you can use tight ends and things like that to balance it
07:06 Also, how is that in a process gone through the year?
07:09 And where did that idea to come from to kind of load up with those guys? I call those guys orcas
07:15 Yeah
07:16 because they're mean that tough physical and
07:20 It's a package that a coach Moore comes up with every week. We can we actually call it. Well
07:26 Much a bit guys up front hard to defend but uh
07:31 We come up with a different package every week. It's called the well package and we come up with it every weekend
07:36 You know, we run the same schemes
07:39 Like run wise that we typically run the open field. It just with those that big that big well package
07:45 But those guys kind of interchangeable like was working some of the day
07:48 Some of the guys were out we working some different guys in their day on days like today Monday's Thursday Friday
07:52 We got walkthroughs. We spend a lot of times us, you know with the running backs in the offensive line
07:56 Working different personnel different packages. So somebody goes down next man up
08:01 Mentality so and it's tough. It's tough to prepare for because it's a different package every week
08:06 Brought someone last week. We did one last week for the first time with a little underneath toss packs with CJ score
08:13 Try to put him in his own go score. He out. He outran the blocker
08:16 But uh, it's tough to defend tough to defend but we interchange the guys on days we walk through so everybody knows what to do
08:23 Sully Weidman got snaps in place
08:28 As part of that how'd he great out? How'd he do his first extensive action? I thought it did great
08:34 I'm not sure exactly what his grade was what coach more graded him out ass, but he played very physical
08:39 In fact, he was responsible for pushing CJ Donovan in his own
08:42 Yeah, I think was if he had the first touchdown, but he played very physical. He just got to be consistent
08:46 He has ability to go do it. He's shown flashes time and time again and the other day. I thought he played really well
08:53 Creating ways to use Rodney and what that is what he's done
09:00 Also what that has allowed you to do off of him and his constant motion
09:03 Yeah, just he's like I told you before him him in Jahim, especially the ball in the hand
09:07 So every week try to find different ways of getting the ball
09:09 and as he continues to grow as he continues to grow and mature as a
09:14 As a receiver and you know, I mean you he'll get him more
09:17 But right now we just find just try to be very creative and find different ways to just get him one-on-one and get him in space
09:24 And create mismatches with him because he's so dynamic with ball in his hand
09:29 I
09:31 Think you all
09:34 Defense see from now
09:36 Athletic
09:40 Fan athletic fast fly around to the football
09:44 All right, thank you all
