00:00 I'm just gonna do a little voice-over.
00:02 One moment.
00:03 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:06 I wanted to alleviate my pain.
00:08 I also didn't want to be who I was.
00:12 I always just felt like there was just something wrong
00:14 with me, and I was trying to figure it out.
00:17 And I used the internet to help me do that.
00:22 Seemingly out of nowhere, we've suddenly
00:24 seen a huge spike in media depictions
00:27 and social media depictions of transgenderism.
00:30 It's even reached the mainstream advertising world.
00:34 The people who are consuming this are children.
00:36 They're 10, 14, 15 years old.
00:39 And it's so easy for them to literally be grim.
00:42 I just woke up one day and looked at myself in the mirror
00:46 and asked myself, what the heck am I doing?
00:48 When trans-identified kids are referred to specialized gender
00:52 clinics, they're often told that they're
00:54 going to get comprehensive, multidisciplinary mental
00:57 health assessments.
00:58 We know that that's not true.
01:00 I was easy to manipulate.
01:01 The ideology that has become dominant at these clinics
01:04 is that trans kids know who they are,
01:07 and therefore to question them is completely taboo.
01:10 My childhood was ruined.
01:11 Who's there for their detransitioning?
01:13 Nobody.
01:14 Nobody would help me because they had more concerns of me
01:18 reversing everything.
01:19 Did this thing to alleviate this gender dysphoria that
01:22 wasn't there before, but you made it into a problem.
01:25 And now your body image issues are worse.
01:28 That's not supposed to happen.
01:31 What do we do now?
01:34 (dramatic music)
